We had bought some art while we were in the Newport area so we were looking for a place that could help ship it home. UPS and FedEx weren't anywhere close so we found shipping solutions. My wife talked to the lady and while she was hesitant about shipping our art, she said she would look at what we had and decide then. She looked at what we had and decided that she could ship it for us. She wrapped it very well and put it in a large box. We got it unharmed in three days. read more

Absolutely rude!!!!!!! I have never ever been treated like I was from the man behind the counter. Not only did he scam me into paying for 3 Amazon returns(which are ment to be free, and NEVER had to pay in previous drop offs to this store) he was rude and forceful in his demeanor and made me feel like I was an inconvenience. I left there in tears and $20 less in my pocket. I contacted Amazon about them and they immediately apologized and refunded me the amount I was forced to pay. The person behind me in line saw how I was treated and very loudly said "if this is how people are treated here I will be doing my business else where" and walked out behind me. read more

If there was a zero star option, that is what I would give. I went into the business and witnessed the employee screaming and cussing at a customer. The customer remained calm until he left the store looking defeated. The employee then ran after that customer OUTSIDE and started yelling and cussing AGAIN! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I was completely blown away by how RUDE the LADY behind the counter was.. I stopped in today, I needed to fax over a couple stacks of paper and had 2 packages I needed shipped. I had not even made it into the store, I walked up to the door with my 2 younger children (not of age to leave in a car alone).. we patiently waited at the door since there was another customer inside.. while waiting I noticed a sign on the door that said 2 people in at a time.. so rather than the 3 of us barge in after the other customer left.. I opened the door to ask the gal if we were good to come in or?? THE LADY LOOKED AT ME AND SAID WITH A RUDE TONE AND COMPLETE ANNOYANCE on her face "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"... no clue why that would matter it was a simple yes you 3 are ok to come in or no can the kiddos please wait right by the door for you.. I was speechless that someone would respond in that manner.. I looked at my kiddos and said oh nevermind, let's go guys.. I used these guys a couple of times for a few things that I needed: FedEx shipping and such. The owners are nice, I guess. I have also been there a few times to get shipping boxes for wine and beer. A lot of the things that they sell are second hand, including the winer shippers. My only problem is the inconsistency with the prices. Sometimes it'll be $X and then sometimes it's $Y. When asked about this, they don't seem to know or care that their services aren't consistent. I'm all for Mom and Pap shops, but it's as if they're just making things up as they go along. Do I support the Mom & Pop shop? Given the area, only because I have to. Will I come here again? Given the area, only because I have to. But these kinds of business practices makes me glad there are big box alternatives...at least in bigger cities. read more

Went for notary services and unlike a previous reviewer had a less than stellar experience. The notary had already made up her mind to decline because we needed the notary to be available at a specific time. Something about not knowing if other customers would be there first. Really, you can't manage your time enough to set an appointment like any other profession. Place is full of mismatched garage sale items and looks like a thrift store more than a copy print establishment. As the lady said herself: innovate or go out of business. Guess she should heed some of her own advice. read more

I can't give these people enough stars!!! I just walked in with two toddlers who are awake way past nap time, and they offered my children toys to play with while I was trying to get my paperwork together. The fedex guy was kind enough to wait for me to get my stuff finished before taking everything for the day (which they asked him to do). Then after I started putting the kids in the car- and after the fedex guy drove away with my very important paperwork, I realized that I had forgotten to have the papers notarized (they offer this service)! Double OMG!! The owner of this business drove out of town for me to the fedex place, to personally go notarize it before it was sent out!! Seriously, these people are incredible!!! Stay away from this place! They will gouge you if you give them half a chance. I sent a package by FedEx Priority Overnight, and Shipping Solutions charged me $332.95. The woman at Shipping Solutions said her cost was $246, although FedEx said the rate was $221.45. Even if you believe Shipping Solutions, they made about $87 from me for their 5 minutes of dealing with me. If you believe FedEx, then Shipping Solutions made over $100 of my shipment! Their charges are outrageous and they showed no remorse when I discussed their rake-off. Forewarned is forearmed! read more

Two weeks in a row (Saturday, July 2 and Saturday, July 9), I drove 30 miles to drop off a UPS package at Shipping Solutions. Both times, I called the phone number listed on the official UPS website (also listed on Google). The phone rang and rang, but no one answered. I figured this meant they were on the line with a customer. Both times, I made the trip, got to the store and saw a sign posted on the door saying "Closed until July 5" (July 2 trip) and "Closed until Monday" (July 9) trip. The UPS website lists hours till 3 PM, Google till 2 PM on Saturday. It is incredibly frustrating that, as far as I can find, Shipping Solutions is the only place to send via UPS (not just a drop-off, for those of us who need to place the order, get packaging, etc.) in the region that is open (supposedly) on Saturdays and they have been closed. Nor do they have a recording on the phone give advance notice of the closing. I will not try a third time. Instead, I'll arrange my schedule to make the trip to Newport on a weekday and go directly to the UPS facility. read more
