I came to this Shipley's location last week. I purchased donuts and donut holes. I unfortunately received donuts that were less than fresh. Usually, regular donuts such as plain, glazed, topped, or powdered will retain their quality for about one or two days at room temperature. In the refrigerator, the donuts will stay good for six to eight days. If you have cream-filled donuts, then you must ensure they stay refrigerated all the time. These types of donuts will keep fresh for three to five days. It is important to note that store-bought donuts will likely not have a label to indicate how long they will stay good for. So it is up to you to use your senses to figure out what state the donuts are in. These donuts here seemed as if they were a day old. While I dont mind day old donuts as they have can be revived by generally wrapping the donuts in a damp paper towel and microwaving them for 5-8 seconds. However, I do mind paying a fresh donut price for non fresh donuts. While the service was pleasant, the donuts...well, not so much. There is more than one Shipley's location, so those who read this review should not be dismayed as the nearest Shipley's is just a Yelp search away! read more

I came right at closing and the food was seriously fresh and delicious. Bonus points for a very friendly employee. The one thing that Georgetown/Round Rock is NOT in short supply of is good donut shops. Shipley can hold it's own among all these shops and is a place I return to time and time again. Wow. Ordered a sausage and cheese kolache, raspberry filled and a apple fritter. The kolache was 95% dough and lil bitty ass sausage for almost $4. The filled dough had enough filling on top just to make you think it was actually filled at least half was. The apple fritter looked like a long John and was hard as a rock. The microwave didn't even help it. I now remember why I have not gotten anything from this crap house in over 8 years. Wish we could give negative stars. Never again. Just moved to Georgetown and recently my wife found this Shipley Do-Nuts, man was she excited. When we were in Austin she'd go out of the way to get to Shipley's. This morning she decided to go to the Georgetown Shipley, HER new Shipley. Now, she's looking for a new local donut shop. She arrived at opening and was given day old donuts. Cold, dry, day old donuts. This is not how to run a donut business. Donuts are supposed to be hot and fresh, especially at opening. She says that they'll never change and she's not going back. They overcharged me. I received a coupon though mail with an offer of 50% off a dozen so I thought I'll give it a try. I ordered a coffee and the dozen and was surprised when the total came out as over $15. I paid it anyway and asked for receipt, then I saw 2 extra chocolate iced donuts added. Seems like he wanted to overcharge me just because I used the coupon. If you are not willing to honor the coupon you better don't give it away. Not to mention the $4.99 iced coffee that I wanted to try the blended that was announced and he said he couldn't do it blended, only iced coffee. It turned out to be an expensive and bad tasting iced coffee. First time buying there and I regret giving a try. Will never come back. read more

spent 19 dollars for what was supposed to be 4 plain kolaches, 2 cheese and 1 jalapeño. only received 1 of the cheese was shorted for my order, we live right next to this store for 3 years now and every time we go it's a very sour experience, the worker is very negative, packs all the kolaches together so there's no way of knowing what's what. next time we'll just drive to round rock do-nuts for the same price but won't be displeased! read more

Donuts were ok, and the place was relatively clean, but the guy working clearly didn't want to be there. He seemed annoyed whenever we'd ask for something. It felt like he identified with that line in Clerks: "This place would be great if it weren't for the customers". He would start walking away while we were speaking to him, meaning we had to repeat things multiple times. I can understand doing that if we were being rude or demanding, but neither of those things were true. I'm not in a big hurry to come back--there are plenty of other donut options. read more

I mean, yuck. Worth your drive to pick another donut place... I'm pretty sure these were made 4 days ago and just hadn't sold yet. My 4 year old didn't even want this donut because it looks gross. I came at 7:30am and got a couple Donuts and a coffee. The coffee was ice cold, which tells me it was made the day before and the donuts tasted like stale bread so I'm sure they were old as well. I definitely won't be back to this location. read more

I've been coming to this Shipleys for a year now. This review has absolutely nothing to do with the wonderful employee that busts her butt every single morning to take care of literally every single customer. My problem is with the franchise owner. For the past year, there has only ever been the one employee in the building when I come through the drive through. It ALWAYS takes so long to get food here no matter how simple the order may be because the ONE employee they have working the store is always swamped. She assists all of the drive through customers, the walk in customers, answers the phone and makes the food. She NEEDS some help! Especially during peak business hours. This morning I was the 2nd person in the drive through line and it took me 20 minutes (Yes, I timed it because it's happened before and I wanted to be accurate for this review) to get my 2 Kolaches and a bottle of water. That is absolutely unacceptable for a fast food drive through. My assumption is that the owner is too cheap to consider paying another employee to help out. The other shipleys locations I frequent are staffed with at least 3 employees every morning and I've never waited more than 5-7 minutes even when I'm the 4th or 5th car in line. I will not be spending my money here any longer and I suggest the owner consider hiring more help before the sweet girl that works the place decides to quit, at this point who could blame her. Stopped in because it was close to the ballfield. I don't mind teenagers working but they definitely need to know their pricing. Was overcharged and when I said something he just blew it off. Donuts are also on the smaller side. I will not be back. read more

Wish I checked the reviews before coming here! The donuts were so stale, my toddlers wouldn't even eat them. Sucks because we ordered a dozen & didn't try them before we got home. Also, ordered 2 Boston cream donuts which are supposed to have chocolate on top & they were just glazed but old so it was cracked. Then ordered 2 Maple frosted Boston creams & got the two crackly donuts with some sort of frosting inside. Super gross. Would never come back or recommend. read more

In spite of the lady in front of me ordering half the store while I'm trying to get a donut on my way to work, they were still excruciatingly slow. I think it took half an hour to get out of here at a snails pace they serve three customers inside and two outside. I got the guys serving the drive-through line to help me and he got my order wrong but at least I got out of there with a couple of donuts 30 minutes later. I won't be back here with all these maskless people milling about. No masks or gloves on the employees nor did I see any handwashing going on after handling money. Just a lil ol 3 star for the Shipley's location. I used to frequent the one off of 79 right next to the Dell Diamond, but since I moved, I use this location. The donuts and Kolachies are the same, but the service at this location kinda sucks. I feel like I'm inconveniencing the employees when I order my 3 boxes of mixed donuts, and kolachies. These guys need to take some customer service training from the other store. read more

Kolache was good. I got a plain glazed donut and there is no way it was made this morning. It was stale and cold, like it had been refrigerated. Donut holes were much of the same. We've been to the Shipley's on Parmer - always fresh, warm donuts. This Shipley's was disappointing and we will not be back. read more

Horrible!! Wish i would have read reviews before spending my money here.. Stopped by at 10:10 this morning.. Purchased 6 chocolate iced and 2 bags of donut holes.. every frickin donut was hard as a rock.. they aren't supposed to CRUNCH!! The donut holes were in a hard brick, shaped like the bag and you couldn't pull them apart to seperate.. I had to throw away 8 bucks worth of food due to being what looked,felt and tasted like days old not hours!! And to top it off, I listened to a 3 yr olds melt down because she was promised donut holes for her good behavior.. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! read more

My family and I stopped by on our way out of town. It was my first time there and I had high hopes since they had always bragged about it. The donuts were okay. I will never go here again! The lady behind counter gave me the wrong kalache. I went right back in to ask for the right one and was called a liar. She wouldn't do anything and kept telling me I was at fault. I stormed out and looked back from my car and of course she was in there now holding a bag looking around acting like she was going to give it to me. Trying to look innocent. They repeated my order 7 times, and still got it wrong. All I wanted was a plain kolache while the rest of my family ordered something with cheese. I bit into all of them and they were ALL something with cheese, even though they apparently put my single plain one in it's own bag. they clearly just wanted to get the sale, because why not just tell me if they didn't have a plain one? Also, they seemed irritated and annoyed that I was also placing an order for donuts. I had not been to a Shipley Donuts in years but had fond memories of them. I've been cured. The kid at the counter got my order wrong, and the donuts just didn't taste or feel fresh-baked even though it was only around 9 a.m. And the kolaches just aren't worth the money. The ham and cheese kolache consisted of a single, micro-thin slice of deli him rolled up along with some yellow goo that might once have been American cheese, lost inside a fairly large roll of chewy white bread. The sausage and cheese model was only a little bit better owing to the fact that the sausage was larger than the pathetic ham slice. I ordered a sausage kolache without cheese as well, but there was not one in the bag when I got home. The jelly doughnuts were just way too gummy. Yeah, H-E-B for sure has better goods than this, as does most any other doughnut place I've tried hereabouts. read more

Shipley's makes a decent Jelly donut and a pretty good bear claw! I do not drink coffee, so I cannot comment on that. I would say that I'd like it if they stayed open later. This location has barely any seating, so if you plan to buy something and eat it there, you may end up in your car. The only complain is a general complaint: What is it about Texas Donut places? Why don't they stay open late? I hate having to travel to D&D in Round Rock to get my donut on! read more

The donuts were stale and felt like rubber in my mouth...The same for the kolatches..stale, hard bread around a sub-standard sausage link. Save your time and money...Additionally, the location is inconvenient...in a strip mall with no signage. I will travel to D & D or go get a breakfast taco from Rudy's next time. read more
