It's overly hyped place for nothing! It had so many positive reviews so wanted to try this place, while we entered, there were 4-5 people in front of but when we came out, the line was until the end of the side walk, I really don't understand the hype. We ordered half dozen donuts, I do like donuts light and airy but they are so airy and tiny donuts, you eat one donut and it feels like, you hade one donut hole. I got a cinnamon sugar donut, and they hadn't tossed the donut in cinnamon sugar, instead they had pressed and kept atleast 2 spoons of cinnamon sugar on top of donut, so as soon I took a bite, all the cinnamon sugar just slided of like a sand, and was left with just the donut and a mess to clean up. Person who takes order barely understands English, so you say what you want, he'll get it but if you ask a question, he just smiles and nods for everything. For the payment, you have to give your card to them, which my husband doesn't prefer post Covid, so asked if he could slide or scan himself, and the guy who was handling the payment dint understand it and got bit offensive( facial expression), then we just gave the card and sanitized it. They steal over $5. Where the difference was coming from, I tried to grasp. If they calculate 5 kolaches at $14.75 and 1 spinach at $3.95, the total comes to $18.7 plus 8.25% sales tax = $20.24. Alternatively, if they think that two spinach ($3.95) times two equals $7.9 and four koloches ($14.75) times four equals $22.65 plus 8.25% equals $24.52, I still can't find the numbers they overcharged me. Well, everything that you read on Yelp and any other review options out there, happens to be true in the case of Monster Donuts. The owner, I think her name is Julie, is outstanding in terms of her demeanor and customer service and these are absolutely the best donuts ever ...bar none. I apologize for the delay in my review but last week was a very busy week in the Willett household. Anyone who dares to have a birthday at Thanksgiving or Christmas, well, what can I say it's really tough for them and for the people who want to celebrate them. I chose to spread out hubby's birthday to cover the day before and the day of the birthday and then of course the next day was indeed Thanksgiving. I knew I would be Uber busy on Wednesday, with prep (and if you saw my pie making review and lack of skills on Facebook you'll know I spent hours on the pie that was supposed to take just a few minutes per the video!). Anyway back to these donuts ----when you enter the shop it's very bright yet warm and friendly . Hubby had wanted to try these donuts and went on a weekend and of course his posture being, he stood in line for a couple years for food while serving in the army-so he will not stand in line for food since his return. Since the weekends are extremely busy, with good reason, in this little shop he just turned around and came home. I decided I would take him for his birthday, and then re-decided and to take him the day before. So on a Tuesday morning about 10 AM, I took him on a field trip. He was surprised when we pulled in and parked In the little strip mall where Monster is located. The place is spotless-the glass case included-where many delectable options were located. The donuts are the star for sure. So fresh and colorful. We chose a variety and I had to try an apple fritter, in addition there are breakfast kolaches, and gorgeous looking cinnamon rolls. I bought a coffee and we decided we would sit in the shop and enjoy one of our purchases to soak up the atmosphere. There are 3-4 small tables and chairs and some bench seating. My Apple Fritter was to die for, generous bits of fresh? (Tasted that way) apple with the delicious fritter that was lightly glazed. It was seriously delicious. Hubby chose a filled yeast donut..get this...the donut is there waiting to be chosen but You CHOOSE the lemon, or strawberry or Boston cream filling and the fill it full of deliciousness right before your eyes!!!! Lemon filling was perfect-just tart enough to give it a fresh lemon taste-he really, really enjoyed it! We watched other customers come and go and a couple moms with their kids-it was such a happy place-big smiles and I'm honestly not sure how they chose as quickly as they did..other than they were obviously routine customers, AND they were ecstatic to get their hands on and their teeth in their choices ASAP! In addition to the coffee they had a refrigerator case near the front of the shop with options for juices and milks and waters. It was a great outing and for the best donuts ever sooooo reasonable in cost. I recommend you consider a trip to Leander purely to experience Monster Donuts. Oh-they have free Wi-Fi too! read more

Good looking selection of donuts in one large case. Coffee appears to be limited to a single urn. Selected one of my favorites treats the apple fritter. It was not overly frosted or greasy like many locations serve. Good flavor with full pieces of apples. It went great with my coffee. Gave it that perfect balance of sweet and bitter. I also had the ham and cheese croissant. Fluffy with good texture and flavor. I'll be back for the donut holes (looked great) and maybe a select of donuts. read more

While house sitting in Cedar Park decided to drive over to Leander and give them a try. Was expecting something extraordinary based on the review. The apple fritter wasn't bad but not anything to write home about. Too little apple too much glaze. If you want a great apple fritter, try Main Street Donuts in Blanco. Much better product. The banana and cherry versions are also delicious. Those are generally available oonly on the weekends. read more

This is the second time I've been here ... I was so impressed the first time I thought I'd see if my opinion changed the second time. It did. It was better! These donuts are so freaking good! I tried some cinnamon roll donut holes = genius. The red velvet cake donut was super moist and had a nice glaze crust. I tried a piece of a chocolate old fashioned. So good. Their kolaches are pretty standard but so happy they're not obscenely greasy like other places. I'm struggling to find a reason to get a donut anywhere else.... these guys know how to make some donuts! On Covid- they have measures in place that made me feel comfortable and they keep their crew safe with plastic barriers.
