I would give this place 4.5 stars. Fair price, delicious food. I tried the sausage rolls and a couple of the devils food donuts. Both very tasty. Only deduction of star goes to the guy's reaction when I asked him if they sold the red velvet cake donut. He looked at me like it was an unreasonable question or that he was disgusted, I couldn't quite tell. A simple "No, sorry" would've sufficed. I will gladly come back because the food I got tasted great. If anyone knows where I can get the red velvet donut please let me know :) read more

My mouth waters when I think of this place. My favorite item are the warm apple fritters. I usually arrive just as they open at 0500 and have to wait a minute or two for them to bring the fritters from the kitchen. The staff is pleasant and the place is clean. Wow!! This is indeed the best donut shop in the DFW area! I thought Jerry's was the best, but this shop tops it, not to mention that it is incredibly close to where I live! The blueberry cake was especially incredible, it was nice and crisp on the outside, soft inside. The cashier was incredibly friendly, and even popped in three bonus donut holes after the order, which were absolutely fantastic! I will definitely come to this place again! This is as good as donuts get!! UPDATE: What I have said earlier about this awesome shop stands just as true on this time I have visited it as any other! I recently tried the cinnamon rolls, and they are as good as they get; they have the crisp donut-like texture on the outside, soft and delicious inside! It has become my favorite item, next to the blueberry cake and the original glazed donuts. read more

The sausage roll was perfect. They had a great dough here. It's light and fluffy and makes everything delicious. I also had a maple donut that was great. The store also have us a handful of donut holes for free and they were wonderful. Recommended. Will be back. read more

I have always been leery of hole in the wall donut places, I've usually found the donuts to be disappointing as I'm used to the warm, soft, perfect donuts from a certain chain in the south. However, after realizing I couldn't get those donuts without driving across Dallas, I found Shins on yelp, and took a chance. I walked in at approx 6:30 am on a Saturday and there were already several people waiting to be helped.... definitely a good sign. I ordered a glazed donut and a sausage roll... for a bargain price of $1.50. The sausage roll was excellent, filled with cheese, a tasty sausage link... and the bread...the bread was soft, and melted in your mouth. I was nervous to bite into the donut, but boy am I glad I did. It was so light and delicious! The glaze was perfectly sweet and not overdone. It definitely stood up to the chain donut shop I hold so high, and I could have eaten 5 more! Will definitely be back for some more donuts and sausage rolls, SOON! read more

Sheer yumminess. Prices are great, they will fill up donuts with filling if you ask them nicely and aren't busy (I got a Maple Log filled with custard this way) Super-friendly and attentive staff. Don't let the location fool you about it being the same as other shops - Their donuts are light as air and just as good for you! Their Kolaches are also sheer perfection. Picked up a dozen donuts for the office one morning at around 8am and it was fast and easy. It's not comparable to my favorite donut shop back home (they had AMAZING coffee and ham & cheese croissants) but its a great basic donut shop. It was a little out of the way, I actually passed the exit on the freeway and had to turn around once I got home. The donuts were soft and delicious. At the end of the day, all the donuts were gone. I'm a sucker for Krispy Kreme glazed donuts but these donuts are so good that I can't resist. They're always fresh and probably the best donuts available in the DFW area. These are so tasty that you can eat cold or warm and they are great alone or with a beverage such as coffee or milk. Shin's glazed donuts are simply heaven sent..I love them!! read more

I came to Shin's Sunday morning right around 12. They closed at 12:30. I had just enough time to scout out which donuts I wanted. And I am not going to lie, I was preparing for a donut binge. I got a cinnamon roll, sour cream donut, sugar donut, and a glazed twist. The lady who filled my order threw in some bonus donut holes! Every donut was like a light fluffy cloud of yumminess. I ate all of them and didn't regret a single one. They were so good. I definitely recommend them if you have a donut craving! I really am upset how lazy I got after eating a lot of donuts from here. Their donuts were so delicious, fluffy, and sweet that it was literally impossible to stop eating. I also like their sausage rolls. So, they have a lot of different kinds of donuts which I did have some trouble picking which one. I ended up choosing half of their options because I couldn't decide which one. This is how you will end up with lots of donuts and devouring them all at once. Nothing to rave about. It's a typical doughnut shop that is slightly better than average. However my co-worker swears by it.

Ask for what's fresh out of the oven and you can't go wrong. That might be true of all donut shops.

I spotted this donut place after dropping my husband at his work. These are SIMPLY MOUTHWATERINGLY good!! I am a huge glazed lemon filled fan and these tasted wonderful. Excellent donuts with a myriad of choices that are warm and fresh. Also, they do sausage rolls that are absolutely amazing. They even have different sizes and offer a jalapeño version. if I am going to splurge on sugar, i want to know what I'm getting is good. It is all true, this place has excellent quality. I'd go early for the best selection. I went at 11:30am on a sunday and could tell a lot had been sold. :) Mrs. Shin made sure i had a sample donut hole at the counter, and threw in an extra with the qty that I actually paid for. I read the reviews on Yelp about Shin's so I decided to see what the hype was about. I was NOT disappointed. I went two days in a row. I bought a sausage roll and glazed twist on the first day. The sausage roll was like eating, well devouring, a piece of heaven. The bread was so soft and warm. It was baked to perfection. The next day I ordered the sausage croissant and glazed twist. SCRUMPTIOUS. Both days I received two donuts holes. If you're looking for a great, traditional, neighborhood, friendly, and clean donut shop go to Shin's. You will make a family staple. read more
