GREAT STAFF, TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT -…read more The people in the store are great. Real professionals in coatings, they know paints and stains, do excellent color matching for paints and stains, are courteous and helpful, and even lug the case out to the car for you. Unfortunately, it should be called Hadlock's House of Paint RATIONING because the owners are bean-counting skimpy skinflints, who somehow imagine they can make more money in the retail paint business by NOT keeping paint in STOCK. I have three projects going and have bought thousands of dollars in paints and stains from this store, but every time I need more paint, they only have A LITTLE. I can have a gallon maybe, if I get lucky, they'll have two, and occasionally I'll have a lottery winning ticket where they have three gallons! Beyond that, everything is a special order, and come back on Friday. REALLY? It's a 30 mile round trip! It's an absolutely preposterous way to run a paint store. I really try to support local businesses, but you have to wonder what these people can possibly be thinking, and how they stay in business? I really want to support the in-store experts and keep access to them, but it's really grueling when their bungling bosses make it so difficult for their store employees to sell paint. When everything "has to be ordered", you have to make two trips to get the paint you need, when it should only take one. I will probably finish out these projects with these guys, since I don't want to change horses in the middle of the stream, but their terrible inventory (mis)management will have me looking for alternatives for my next renovation. If everything "has to be ordered", maybe I should just be ordering online and getting it delivered?

The staff is friendly, a great resource to have for references and tips. There are plenty of color cards and catalogues to take home with, with references for the sheen on the wall. There is plenty of parking in the big lot, but there is a 15 minute parking right in front of the store for a quick in/out trip.

The person who answered was very helpful, which was a big plus. The entrance is on the side with the small parking lot. Once you walk in, the store seems to go on and on. They've got everything you could need for home improvement projects, even the smallest ones. The staff on the floor were friendly and knowledgeable--another big plus. I liked the idea of supporting a local business for what I needed instead of going to a big-box store. That said, you might pay a little more for some items. I'm also thinking of calling to see if they offer knife sharpening--another local hardware store I know does this. The inside is just what you'd expect from a hardware store: neat, tidy, and well-organized. Definitely worth a visit! Parking can be tricky, with a small lot and some street parking available.

I recently learned from an online friend that they also sharpen knives! The prices are fair, and depending on the day, they can have them ready in about an hour (sometimes even faster), which beats waiting days like other spots. A few times a year, usually around the holidays but sometimes other times too they run a buy-one-get-one-free deal. Definitely worth checking out, but I'd give them a quick call first to confirm when it's happening. They also have a punch card program, and I grabbed a knife bag for $5 that's totally worth it. All in all, it's a solid neighborhood hardware store-with friendly staff, fair prices, and plenty of parking in the strip mall area.

We're preparing to sell our home and were touching up all the paint. First, we needed to match our master bedroom, and after our own failed attempt (which left us with polka dots!), we were convinced we'd have to repaint the entire room. The staff at Hadlock's saved the day with an absolutely perfect match. Then, just a week later, we had a ceiling mishap. I went back again, and once more, they were patient, precise, and determined to get the color just right. With only hours before our first open house, the color matched perfectly--saving us from repainting an entire ceiling! With a background in property management, I can say that truly accurate paint matching is rare. It's usually "close," but not close enough to avoid repainting whole rooms. Hadlock's nailed it both times. Hadlock's will be my new go-to for all things paint. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
