    Just came back from the Midlothian Tpke store so this review pertains to this store. I felt the…read moreneed to balance out the other review bc my experience was contrary to those. I was greeted on entering the store. I was asked if I needed help with anything. My project was repairing/painting a small patch of drywall where a tissue holder had come off the wall (~10 years ago and I was just now tackling the repair). I had the paint color # from the original job but was informed by the gentleman that unfortunately the finish (aqua-pearl) had been discontinued and he suggested replacing it with their closest which would be the pearl finish. The smallest container that could be provided for that finish was a quart (Other standard finishes are available as a pint). Not a problem - perfectly understandable and good to have on hand. He also recommended the small roller for applying the paint for the best blending of the repair into the original paint. (Not being a house-handy-person, I appreciate information like that even though it's probably common knowledge to others). I recommend the homeowner is the best person to keep a record of paint colors/finishes used. So, bottom line is it will always depend on whomever is working that day whether your experience is negative or positive (not unlike going to the DMV, except you have no choice, there!) It also helps if you come in with a good attitude, yourself.

The gentleman (I use the word loosely) who waited on us was not helpful and mostly rude during our visit. We took some paint samples home and later returned to the store to request a sample of the one we liked. When entering the store, the same person who we encountered earlier was behind the counter and gave an unwelcoming look. I went to the counter and he was working at a register and refused to look up at me. Another gentleman (again using the word loosely) asked if he could help. We asked if we could have a sample of a particular paint color. He said he could sell us a pint for $7+. We noted that the Benjamin Moore web site advertised smaller samples for much less cost. His sarcastic response was "Oh well guess you are out of luck". I have been a Benjamin Moore customer all my life and have never experienced such poor customer service. Will never go back. Check out Home Depot's Behr's paint. It has a much higher Consumer Report rating and you get much better customer service.
