I've now worked with both Mario and Jack. Both of these gents operate on one level of customer service - exceptional. They've both gone above and beyond to help me not only color match my wall paint but provide knowledge on how to best prep, speckle, and paint. Thank you for all of your help and keep up the exceptional customer service. read more

I decided to do a paint project and painted my accent wall, see pictures. One of the clerks was friendly and patient with my painting needs, the other one (which I am glad he didn't wait on me) seemed as if he didn't want to be bothered. I just tried to put the service in perspective because Sherman was having a great paint sale and I wanted to seize upon it. I was pleased with my paint selection and quality of the paint. Previously I had used Ace Hardware's brand and was very displeased with those results. I first painted the wall with their Duration (Matte) brand, Snowbound, followed by the blue color Cosmos which is also Matte. I WAS NOT pleased with the paint brushes Sherman sells, specifically the ProVal 4" inch, see picture. I do believe the brushes that I have purchased from Ace have been of better quality. read more

I think one of best things Sherwin-Williams has going for it right now is its selection of colors for there No V.O.C. Currently Home Depot only has a handful of colors and none of them are really that great. The service is pretty average... But they did hook us up with a discount. I don't think I will be painting again for a while, but if I did I would check Home Depot first since its closer and if they didn't have the color then I would head back to Sherwin-Williams. read more

Sherwin-Williams Paint Store - Paint Stores Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

The staff at this Sherwin-Williams store is always so helpful and accommodating. They go the extra mile to ensure each customer leaves satisfied with their order. There is free Keurig coffee and an entire wall of color chips to explore. This location also has a dedicated parking lot, which is tough to find in the Lakeview area. read more

I have a sick obsession with argyle, and I wanted to paint an argyle wall in our apartment. That meant I needed paint supplies, and lots of them. This Sherwin-Williams was fairly small for a paint store, but they had absolutely everything I needed for the project - including multiple widths of painter's tape and paint sold by the quart. The staff here is incredibly helpful, and even helped me find a 3-pack of the rollers I wanted so I'd save a few bucks over buying them individually. They're also incredibly patient - a couple was in the store agonizing over color samples for the third night in a row, and the clerk was more than happy to hold up swatch after swatch for them. Sherwin-Williams isn't really known for exact color-matching in the way that Home Depot or other places are, but they're great sports about it if you ask. Brandon C and I brought in a Glidden brochure from Home Depot (oops) and asked if they could do the team colors we needed. The guy behind the counter was a rockstar about finding colormatches for The Ohio State University's signature scarlet and grey. Once I get over this argyle phase and decide that I need a madras bathroom or a pinstripe dining room? I'll be coming back here for my paint. read more

Here is the answer I received from SW regarding a contractor I hired from their wall of professionals. He created a mess, paint on the trim the tile the floor the bathtub, drips throughout. I paid for the paint he used and he purchased and painted the wrong color. SW had the colors I picked out on the design consult form. He painted a color that was not listed anywhere on that form. When I asked about SW making it right, at least providing the correct paint color, here is what I received Dear Margie, Thank you for visiting Sherwin-Williams.com. We appreciate your inquiry. I apologize, but we do not get involved in disputes between home owners and contractors, since both are our customers. The contractor is not a Sherwin-Williams employee. I am sorry you had a bad experience. I hope this information is useful. Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance. Sincerely, Craig Sherwin-Williams Customer Support read more

Was in there today and no staff helped me. They stood by the register and talked about cursive writing instead. I thought this was meant to be a customer service establishment? read more

Our new place is all kinds of adorable. The living room is yellow, the dining room - a deep red, the bathroom - lime green and the kitchen is a rather nice French blue. However, the bedrooms were....how shall I put this... They were boring. They were lacking in wall-related pigment. They sucked. So we trekked over to Sherwin-Williams, armed with our friend's discount, and bought all sorts of pretty colors from the exceedingly helpful guy who worked there and mixed our stuff for us and told us how to save a few bucks on rollers and tape and so on. And soon....when our lazy asses get around to it, our house will be EXTRA pretty. It's going to kick ass. read more

I moved to the Lakeview East neighborhood a few months ago, and needed to transform my all-white apartment into a serene home. I chose to buy my paint at Sherwin Williams because of their color selection, affordability and quality of paint - and, above all, their customer service. John, especially, has been incredibly helpful to me. I had a little color "disaster" when the light in my dining room turned a subtle paint color nearly neon in intensity. John came to the rescue, suggesting other colors that might work and helping me with samples. I will continue to support the Sherwin Williams on Halsted, and I highly recommend that you check them out! read more

Children work here. They couldn't get my paint match correct even though I had the mixture number for a paint they made. Conversation I had: Me: this paint doesn't match Manager: it doesn't matter if it matches Me: I want a refund. Manager: ok Not the worst experience but it was a complete waste of time. Go to Benjamin Moore just a block away. They know their stuff. read more

Much appreciation to Callie for her assistance and friendly demeanor. She was quite helpful with my purchase. I will return to this location for service like Callie gave me. read more

Cullen was absolutely amazing today. My son and I came in with a small craft/restoration project that require a meticulous hit or miss custom color mix and all we needed was a $20 jar of paint. He went super cool, patient, professional and went out of his way to make it happen for my kid! Thank you! read more

This was my first experience this week at SW. I am officially a fan! The paint is absolutely amazing (Emerald) and it has transformed my space beautifully. Most importantly rewarding was the great help I received during my 3 visits this week. Jessica and Charlie were super helpful and were very friendly and accommodating; beside the fact that there was a very rude, mouthy customer mumbling words under her lip. Some people just should not be allowed to shop-if they are going to be demanding and disrespectful. Point said! My experience with the staff and the product was exceptional. I live only a block away-and I will never buy cheap hardware store paint again. GREAT JOB Jessica and Charlie! read more

Everyone who I've met here has been super helpful. I know nothing about paint and painting and they were able to assist me through picking color, sheen, etc. After this store, I would never go to Home Depot for paint help. read more

These guys were really friendly, very helpful, put together a whole paint package for a total novice, added in the discount, met a tight deadline - up and down this is a very well run store, and deserves a 6th star. read more

Charlie is so great! If he is working and available talk to him. He definitely makes what you are looking for easy to find and doesn't haggle you or force you to buy more. We needed a couple colors of paint and he was helpful with picking out the right kind and made us aware of all the promotions currently going on. Store is nothing fancy but it's a paint store what do you expect. read more

The staff at the Sherwin-Williams in Lakeview were very helpful. The lighting in the building is much different from most homes, so make sure you take your paint colors home. They have a coupon on their web-site right now for $10 off a $50 purchase. read more

Great Staff. They have a nice low odor paint here. The color matches are very good. There are way to many shades of white available. It makes an easy decision hard with so many options. This is the place to go for paint. Where you have real professionals who can truly help you. read more

Ed is a jerk. I went to another SW store first and they were so helpful and actually painted a poster board for me (their idea, not mine) so that I could see the color of the paint. I asked Ed if they could do this too and he responded, "You must have gone to a really slow store, we wouldn't have time for that." I didn't need the attitude, just asked because it was done before for me. BTW, it was just me and one other guy in the store at this time. I also asked the female sales associate if there was another SW around, just so I would know my choices. Ed, stopped what he was doing and said, "Why, are you going to leave and go there?" No Ed, but I should have! I am not sure what was going on with Ed that day, maybe breathing in too much paint, but for some reason customer service was not taught to him or, he just didn't care. I'm on my way to Home Depot, at least they have nice sales associates, even if my paint may not match perfectly. read more

If you need paint, get it from Sherwin-Williams. This was my first time there as i had a gallon of leftover paint from my previous contractor with SW's label on it. The girl there was very patient and helpful, and explained to me the price difference if i get it myself instead of through my contractor. Lucky for that I didn't end up paying crazy prize for a gallon of paint. Definitely will recommend. read more

I went to this store with a rather easy request and was treated like I was inconveniencing them. The high rise that I live in has an account with this particular store and I needed a gallon of the paint that they use in there apartments. The employee who was "helping" me was extremely rude and said he didn't have time to look up the account and I would just have to find out exactly what color they use and come back. I can't imagine it's that difficult to look up an account and determine which paints have been purchased, I thought that was the point of having an account. Last time going to this location. read more

This place is great! Previously, I had bought a gallon of paint, and when the painter came to my house he said the color I purchased was too white (even though that was the number in my records.). He shaved a chip of paint off the wall and said to bring it to Sherwin Williams. I did, and they analyzed it and identified the correct shade of white to match the chip. They then took the paint I had previously purchased and tinted it so that it was the correct shade and didn't charge me anything! Mike helped me and he could not have been nicer. He went out of his way to make sure the paint color was correct, and was so cheerful and helpful. I am so glad I bought my paint there and really appreciate Mike going out of his way to help me for no charge! I will definitely go there for all my painting needs! read more

Thank you & kudos to the friendly guys at this store. My husband & I arrived luggin a heavy box of 8 cans of ancient paints we wanted to match, only to learn we were in the wrong brand store. They offered to do the job, but recommended we go to the "other-brand" store. They looked up location, gave us directions and carried our heavy box back out to our car. Talk about service! This is truly customer service at its best! read more
