It's not a bad shop and is stuffed to the gills for sure. But there weren't as many plants as I expected, to be honest. (Which might be a good thing because it helped keep the temptation away.) They have a lot of pots, some really cool ones I haven't seen elsewhere. I have too many pots without plants so I had to keep myself from buying one. And they have a plant of the week which when I was here was the ZZ. Lots of chotckes, some fertilizer, and so on. The shop dog was cute too. I'm glad I stopped in but I wouldn't look to this to be my go-to plant shop.

Damn, this is a great store. I wish I didn't like it so much because I can easily see myself…read morespending far too much money here. I heard of this store months ago, when I was looking up plant shops to visit. I've driven by a few times because it's only about a mile away from me. Finally, when I saw that Charlene H.'s review, I first added her as a friend and then decided I needed to get to H+T sometime soon. Serendipity would lead to me to be just a couple blocks from the shop today so I decided I should stop in. That was a mistake, because I spent a lot more money than I had intended to spend. This store is at its core a home decor store, so it's not specifically a plant shop. But they DO have an extensive collection of plants, both indoor houseplants and outdoor plants. They have starters and they have seeds as well. Of course they have just about everything you need to care for your plants too: pots, gloves, potting soil, pruning shears, and so on. They have a really nice collection of pots, by the way; in addition to some of the ones I've seen at just about every plant shop, I got a couple others that I haven't seen elsewhere and are quite beautiful. Their prices are not out of line with other plant shops in the area. But I didn't stop there, because they have a seriously beautiful collection of items to decorate your home. I restrained myself to some extent but I could have gotten a lot more. I bought a photo frame, a basket for the new ZZ plant I purchased, a raven ZZ, and the two pots. They have really beautiful picture frames here so now I need to identify photos that I want prints of so I can buy more frames. (Can we bring back film photography, please?) Clever and cute idea to put photos of Lizzo in all of the frames, I dig it. I really like my plant basket too, so I may need to buy more of them. They had some really nice side tables that I would probably use as plant stands since some of them are small... or if I had more fancy furniture in my home too, I suppose. This is a store that I would love to buy things from because they'd make my home look sophisticated. The staff were really friendly, welcoming, and happy to help me. They charged me twice for one of the pots, but I realized that before leaving and they fixed it straightaway. Then when I realized I had bought a 5x7 frame instead of a 4x6 frame, the return was easy. But they do have a more conservative return policy than a mass merchandiser would, so be sure that you understand the return policy before you purchase.

This is a tiny shop, but it is PACKED with botanicals…read more The shopkeeper was friendly and quite knowledgeable, but he wasn't wearing a mask and this was a few days to a week before the mask mandate ended in Chicago (February 28, 2022) and I'm already a bit wary so I headed out. I'm not sure if that was on purpose or he didn't realize, but it was getting a little crowded in the store for me anyway so probably would have been ready to leave regardless. There are lots of plants, and my understanding is that not everything is on display since they're short on space in the main area of the shop. They have a nice collection of orchids, too; I actually considered getting one, but changed my mind. For some reason I think of them as being somewhat... difficult, or needing more attention (whether that's true or not I'm not sure), and I have enough responsibilities with the plants I already own (especially one of my calatheas that's being a bit of a drama queen at the moment!). I may have to try my hand at an orchid sometime, though. The aforementioned shopkeep gave me a huge boost of confidence that I could. In our discussion he mentioned the crucial point that orchids are just plants that flower more often than other botanical houseplants folks might keep, even though many green houseplants may flower under the right conditions. Once an orchid stops flowering, they're still plants without the flowers for you to care for. Food for thought! They also have a shop pet, which was a surprise! I don't like lizards, but luckily this one was in an enclosure. I was a bit startled, though, so be forewarned that the little guy is hanging out in his plexiglass home--he won't hurt you, since you won't be able to touch him, but I as I said, I was surprised! They don't have a huge collection of pots, but the plants all looked lovely and healthy. They have some popular favorites, but it also seemed they had some more unusual and harder to find plants. They have displays for live plant walls for which you can consult with them to install in your home or office, too, if you wish. Parking on this stretch of Damen is touch and go, and it's paid, so plan accordingly.

So I did a search and contacted about 10 Interior Landscaping services. Anna from Interior garden Services, Inc. replied to my inquiry. She cam to our space, we did a big walk around, discussed light, what plants we want, what budget we had in mind, and went from there. Anna is very good at what she does, very knowledgeable about all their plants, told me much about their operation and how it differs and is superior to other local interior landscape services. IGServices is a woman and family owned business and it shows. I can see she is spending her time trying to give me exactly what I want- within our budget, and her attention to detail is reassuring. Not to mention she is just so nice. We have not decided which company we will go with after all, but I give 3 cheers for Interior Garden services, Inc.

I met with owner Jenny in late 2012 to learn more about her business, and from our very first discussions, it was clear that we were going to work well together. She helped me take a very rough vision for our floral and turned it into a beautiful, polished concept that worked within our budget. I felt that Jenny stayed very focused on us as her customer throughout the entire planning process. She was conscientious of our time and resources while still making sure all the little details were covered, brought new ideas and suggestions to the table based on her experience, and made an effort to keep things simple for us. For example, she had her staff pick up the vases and votives we had purchased for centerpieces, she made herself available for meetings at the venue, and she brought samples of everything to our home a week in advance to make sure we would be happy with the final product. She also personally delivered our bouquets on our wedding day, and oversaw the venue set-up to ensure everything went smoothly - and it was perfect. We were extremely happy with Jenny and her team, and would recommend her in a heartbeat to anyone we know.
