Primrose is a great plant and floral shop on Southport! I've purchases both bouquets and houseplants from here and have been happy with everything. One of my favorite plants we bought over 4 years ago from Primrose and she is thriving. It's called an elephant ear, and it has become HUGE over the years. It adds so much character to our home and we love it! The shop has plants of all sizes to choose from -- with options for plant novices to experts. I also love the shop pup, who makes every visit extra special. I love that Southport has this sweet shop and hope it continues to thrive! read more

Primrose is my new favorite place to get flowers. I will happily come here instead of getting flowers from Whole Foods or Trader Joe's. I stopped in and told them the price point for a bouquet I wanted and worked with me on finding the right flowers and for me to my price point. They didn't like the way one of the flowers looked so replaced it with a more healthy looking flower. Exceptional service , kind staff and excellent selection. Will come back! read more

Exceptional customer service! As a walk in I was greeted by a very friendly associate. She was interested in the occasion we were celebrating ( the arrival of a new Granddaughter) and guided some beautiful arrangements already prepared. I inquired about something custom and was told she could produce something in about a half hour. I said let's do it and she went to work. As I returned in about 20 minutes she was putting on the finishing touches. It was beautiful and picked up on the feel appropriate to our celebration. As I waited I enjoyed a conversation with owner Leah. She along with a very busy staff obviously enjoyed their opportunity to be creative in sharing with the clients occasion. Having waited over a bit to write this review I can also comment how fresh the flowers must have been as they look beautiful more than a week later! All I can say is don't go anywhere else read more

Going to make this review short and sweet. Thank you so much Abby for making me a sweet and simple flower crown for my October cemetery shoot! I came here with my dog in late October because I wanted a tiny and simple flower crown for my hair. I stated I wanted the flowers to be dark or black and Abby ordered the perfect floral arrangement with my specific corpse bride request. I'm now patiently waiting for the flowers to dry up so I can have it for a future project. The staff here gave me an extremely reasonable price on short notice and I also purchased a cute vase with three dead flowers that I included in my Day of the Dead themed cemetery shoot. I highly recommend this cute flower boutique and will use their services again without hesitation. Small plant shop, with some houseplants as well as a lot of floral stuff; I'd say it seems to lean more heavily toward the floral direction. They also have a decent collection of pots as well; nothing unusual really, but a variety of sizes and colors. When I stopped in I didn't see anyone in the shop, though I know there had to have been because the doors were open and plants out front on the sidewalk. I didn't leave with any plants but I'd stop in again if I was looking for a floral arrangement. read more

Such a fun flower shop! The staff was so friendly and they offer so many different types of bouquets! We went to pick up a bouquet of flowers for a table and then we also looked at their planter boxes and pots. They have bins out front with different size bouquets so that you can select a size that's right for you (and for your budget)! When we were checking out, the girl offered to put water at the bottom since we were not going straight home which was so nice! She also informed us that a stem was broken so she switched it out with another flower! They have so many fun plants inside and the prices we're reasonable for the types of flowers they offered. I ordered an arrangement today as a gift. The order was for $100 (plus $30 in tax and delivery). It was delivered as requested but the arrangement looked sickly. I contacted the shop and they informed me that that I was looking at the back (with one unfortunately broken off flower). I'm embarrassed that a $130 gift looked so terrible. The shop insisted I couldn't see the front (by the photo sent)....and that it had all sorts of flowers I couldn't see. Needless to say I won't be ordering from them again. I order from this shop based on the reviews. Maybe if you go in (in person) you get a better arrangement or better service. read more

I've visited this plant store several times during this last year when I got into indoor perennials. They have a wide selection of foliage, aroids and large standing plants. I definitely needed help at first with selecting the right plants for my north facing home and they were extremely patient and instructive! Not to mention their store pup, who was as welcoming as the owners are. They have occasional thematic sales that I find really cute, for Harry Potter week they were selling the birds nest fern as gillyweeds which was hilarious. They're now selling Hoya kereii for Valentine's! They also have a new selection of terracota and glazed pots in the back. Smaller selection than most but they are happy to help drill a drainage hole for any pot which is a huge help! I've picked out two beautiful round 6 to 8 inch pots from their collection. Overall lovely shop for beginners and plant lovers alike! read more

I was looking for a florist in Lakeview to buy my sister and brother-in-law a bouquet for their wedding anniversary and truly did not want to resort to Jewel/Whole Foods for flowers. This place is a gem. They have several freshly-made bouquets, which can be purchased with or without a $6 vase, or the staff will build a flower arrangement based on your need/ price point/ occasion. This place just gives off a great vibe - small, amenable, professional, and pretty quick. I will definitely return. Oh, and even though Southport can be busy, I find there is plenty of parking on the nearby streets. Just have the Chicago Parking app handy. read more

Hit or miss bouquets. Better to start with one of the online options as a reference when ordering design your own. You have to be very specific about what you want. Just saying color scheme mood is not going to work. Do not use their suggested Uber Eats delivery option. Have not received reliably excellent arrangements. Sometimes, yes. But often, I wonder what they are thinking and how the price was determined. Note that spending more money does not help. You just end up with even more filler and more questions about how ultrafiltration arrangement cost X or X+$50. This is also not a place that lets you put together your own arrangement. read more

My fiancée and I stumbled across this place by pure coincidence after having brunch on Southport. Turns out we had been searching for a house plant for months since the start of the pandemic. We walked in and the woman who helped us could not have been nicer or more helpful. We've been looking for something both hearty and easy to care for and tried several places. Turns out fully grown house plants are expensive! Anyways, we found a fully grown money tree that we love! Everywhere else we have tried, this plant was $150 or more, so we were pleasantly surprised when she told us that the plant only cost $75. We left with the plant, a beautiful pot/tray combo, and they took care of the repotting for us for less than $130 all in. She made everything VERY easy to look at and guided us thru designs while collaborating with us. I called to confirm what we wanted and she calmed my nerves while asking how I was doing and feeling! We spent over $100 on succulents (a steep $13 per succulent) for our new apartment, eager to support a local business. However, within a few days they have all rotted. Not to mention that they infected other succulents they were potted with, so we lost even more money that way. I've been taking care of succulents for years and this has never happened. I followed all the care instructions the staff provided and bought all my supplies there. A friend who came with also had a succulent that rotted after a couple of days. It is unfortunate but this was a huge financial blow at a rough time as it is. I'd recommend going elsewhere. read more

I called That's Amore needing a congratulatory bouquet for a coworker. The bouquet that I saw online was not available exactly as pictured, but the employee asked me for some details about the occasion and offered to create a custom bouquet for me. He asked me about flower colors, price range, vase shape, etc. to make the best arrangement for my colleague. I requested this bouquet in the afternoon the day before I would need it. I picked up right at 8:30 AM upon the shop's open and was super impressed with the custom arrangement. The price was very fair and the flowers fresh and beautiful! The shop is close to the Southport brown line so I was able to commute to the Loop seamlessly. I'll definitely be going back for more floral arrangements. read more
