I've walked by this cute shop a million times and finally made it inside. The owner just about to make a call to support someone who worked in her circle for over 20 years and had been let go. She is the type of person and small business owner we all dream of having in our community! Thanks for sticking up for the little people, Geneva! And for my beautiful topiary.

Last minute arrangement

I was in a bind and needed flowers sent quickly. I'm from out of state so naturally I just googled flower shops near my recipients address and lucky this popped up! The owner Geneva was wonderful. Was very sympathetic to my situation and managed to get an absolutely beautiful arrangement delivered same day! She emailed me a video of the arrangement and I couldn't be happier with her work.

Happiest accidental find! I parked in front to go have coffee across the street and down a bit. But this place was calling me. I'm so glad we decided to stop in. The shop is absolutely packed with plants and flowers. Honestly I could have gone home with a lot more if my budget allowed this week. The staff was so incredibly friendly and attentive. When I made my purchase they made sure to give me directions kn the care of the particular items I bought. They wrapped them neatly and paid attention that they wouldn't leak on my car. The cut flowers lasted about a week and a half. The plant is thriving. Everything was so healthy and well care for. I will make a trip into the city again just for this spot. Such a fun place and so beautiful and serene.

My husband has been a patron of this flower shop now for the last three years. He has had flowers delivered to me at my place of employment, always supervising me. And as his wife of many years now, I know the flower shop has always made excellent choices for him as to which is the occasion and what arrangment they suggest. And they nevered failed. And for the past two years they have suggested beautiful exquisite flower bouquets either for my birthday or wedding anniversary. This year my husband ordered and has delivered to my place of employment, 12 long stem roses with Nandina greenary, and as I walked up to received the boutique from a far it was stunning as it was dropped off for me in the front desk by the delivery person. As, I got closer I happen to notice the greenary was very dry, and others where spotting in brown or black spots, and yellow/brown and the roses where falling apart. I called the flower shop to express my concern and let them know that I did not received a fresh boutique of flowers and greenary and requested to speak with a manger. The lady that answer the phone, went on to ask me for which order, I went and explained that the order was place by my husband and provider her with his information. She then went on to say that she made this order for me and ask me what was wrong. I asked if she is the manger and she went on to say no, but I am the owner. I explained to her that what I received was not fresh, and explained that greenary was very dry others where spotting in brown or black spots, and yellow/brown and the roses where falling apart. She stated to me that the greeynary was Nandina Greenary and that it has a reddish/pinkish color to it and that was not old and that the roses where fresh. And to look up Nandina Greenary on google. I informed her that what she sent was not reddish/pinkish in color and the roses where falling apart. I was surprise to hear her respond, she stated to me if I am not happy with it I will have my driver pick it back up and sell it to another customer and refund my husband. I really thought she would address my concern and try to keep my husband as customer. I looked up Nandina greenary attached an image to this post along with images of what I recieved from her at Halsted Flower shop. Nandina greenary is a beutiwful fall folliage greenary, but that is not what I recieved. I recieved again, very dry others where spotting in brown or black spots, and yellow/brown and the roses where falling apart. She completely disregarded my complaint, and again did not try to remedy the situation, which is what I thought would happen. I may no be in expert in flowers or greenary. What I can say is as long as I been recieving and seeing beautiful flowers and greenary from around the world amonst my travels. That I do know for sure it what is fresh flowers/greenary and what is not fresh.

Geneva and her team did my wedding flowers and the whole experience was amazing from start to finish. She worked with my changing schedule and the flowers were gorgeous. I'll be coming back for all my flowers needs!!! Thank you!!!!

We stopped in Thursday before Mother's Day on a large last minute decoration request for our job. It was my first time there and I've never bought flowers in bulk so it took us some time asking questions and running numbers. The first interaction that left a bad taste in my mouth was a worker barking at me to stay away from the carnation buckets that another worker had said I could choose from. "There's nothing back there for little girls" was his way of telling me, a 33 yr old WOMAN, not to pick from the carnations. I wanted to immediately leave, but knew we needed these flowers and this may be the only place we can find a large amount last minute. Then, when we finally were ready to check out, the owner (or the man behind the desk) was adamant that our client's card numbers weren't going to work because he needed 16 digits. I explained AMEX only has 15. It seems their systems are dated, so the owner had to call the card reader vendor which held things up and a line began to form. We didn't want to cause stress for anyone so we assured him multiple times he can take other guests before us so they didn't need to wait. He declined and continued to insist that it was our fault we didn't have the correct card numbers, but continued to speak with the vendor (who later confirmed that AX only has 15 numbers...). None of the other customers were complaining at all..but the WORKERS started making unnecessary and rude comments about us and how long it was taking. I was on the phone with my boss trying to figure out another option while the owner was on the phone with the vendor and things were feeling really stressful already, let alone having staff talk about us in front of the entire store. "This has turned into so much of a nightmare." "This is ridiculous." I told one of them that we had offered for others to go ahead of us in line, but he said they couldn't because the car had been loaded already. Finally, I was so stressed that I put it on my personal credit card just to get out of there. Rushed out of there with my receipt only to see they had unloaded my car- so now I had to wait for them to reload...after they were rushing us! Never in my life have I been heckled at by the employees of a business where I am spending $1000...I was shocked and felt disrespected..like they thought we didn't have the money to cover our bill, and that just because we took longer than an average transaction, we were inconveniencing them. The only reason I decided to still purchase with them is because it was last minute and right before Mother's Day and our options were slim. But to choose to return...absolutely not.
