    A lovely assortment of vases
    Courtney C.

Hello. My serotonin levels have been greatly increased today and it was because of this store, and the lovely service Marcus provided. I stumbled into this store today not knowing what I wanted, could handle (I'm a plant noob, ok?), and what was in my budget. I knew as soon as I walked in that I would be in trouble, because quite frankly I wanted the whole store. Yep. The whole store! Everything is so healthy, unique, and VERY reasonably priced. Marcus gave me a tour of the spot, told me all about every plant and what he would/wouldn't recommend based on my windows, lifestyle, and all that (basically, what will I probably not kill!) The service was very much appreciated and I bought a variety of beautiful plants that I have already received compliments on! They have a wonderful online presence if you aren't comfortable shopping indoors, but Marcus and I both had masks on, so it was a comfortable experience for me! I absolutely will return and will maybe take my partners car next time so I can buy even more! Please check this lovely space out, you won't regret it.

Also, it's cash only, and make sure you bring your own boxes to carry your plants. The volunteers are really nice and helpful here. Prices started at $3 for the smaller plants and went up from there. The organic green house not only offers children's and adult classes, they also have a wonderful community garden which is open Thursdays and Saturdays from 10 am to 12 pm. it is also the only teaching greenhouse from the Chicago Park District, located within the grounds of Kilbourn Park. They seek to connect people to nature, teach sustainable gardening practices, and promote fresh and healthy food to people of all ages through garden-based programming. I really enjoy this local establishment for plant needs! They have porch items (and even live…read moreanimals like turtles, fish, and birds) here, but I was mainly here for the plant nursery. It definitely feels extensive and organized with sections for soil, different climates/plant needs, and grade of plant. The indoor plants I've bought here are mostly doing great if a little neglected from my own care. We ended up planting some of the outdoor plants too early, but the quality was great overall. Given the late last frost date here, I would just wait to buy outdoor plants in the spring. The parking lot is extensive, and they have several community events as well as opportunities to host birthday parties for any age. Staff were really helpful and efficient at the register.

I by not means have a green thumb so I appreciate all of the fun facts and tips and tricks they were posted on now to keep some of the plants alive. When you first walk in, you see all types of soil snd. Will notice different sections of the store. We stumbled upon the furry friends, hamsters and guinea pigs as we were looking at the cacti's, then that led to the bird aviary where folks can donate to interact with the birds. There are so many of them. We then heard a waterfall and walked towards it and got stopped in our tracks by buddy the turtle next to the koi pond. It's literally like Narnia here. We walked through all of the plants and found the party room. So fun to hear that they do events and folks can paint their own pottery before planting in them. While walking around none of the staff really interacted with us so we didn't really know where to really find what we were looking for, but that's okay because the adventure was also really fun. Overall a great experience, highly recommend for anyone looking to build their garden.

I like visiting plant shops and had just recently been thinking I wanted to get another, so how serendipitous was this? It's a nice shop. Staff are friendly; although there was one employee checking another woman out when I first arrived and started wandering around, that employee sought me out when they were done to ask if I needed any assistance, and I appreciated that. They have a large and spacious shop, as well as an extensive outdoor section. I didn't find anything that I wanted today. They had some really nice plants, but I didn't really find something I wanted that I didn't already have. Their prices seemed a bit high... though I will admit I haven't been to a plant shop in several months and with inflation making prices increase so sharply recently, that may simply be the nature of the cost of living in 2022.

It occurred to me to ask my fav plant store (the one I've had to stay away from because I spent too much there). I asked them it they could do one that was pretty but interesting, less typical. In line with the very cool things you find in both of their stores. I could not be more delighted--gorgeous! They even honored my last minute request to try to add a little blue. Please check out their plant store too. Really cool stuff and great advice.
