    Plant selection

Super friendly and helpful! They have amazing plants but not the biggest selection in vases. I definitely would be back though!

I'd heard about the shop and decided to take a walk down there on my lunch today, especially since I need a plant to brighten up my new office space. It was easy to find, though Google Maps would have taken me to the wrong end of Block 37--if you enter through the southernmost entrance on State Street, and walk forward, you won't miss it. This is a beautiful green oasis in The Loop! Staff was really nice. The folks whom I assume were the owners chatted with me a while and though I thought I might not end up with a plant today, I did leave with a curly snake plant. Snake plants aren't typically my jam, but I went in knowing I might need to have one just because they don't need as much water and I'm not in the office daily. They plants might be slightly more expensive than other shops, but not by much--a few bucks. And I'm happy to pay it to support small business. It was super convenient for me, obviously, since I was able to walk and didn't have to remember to bring a plant from home. I wasn't going to buy a pot, either, but when I picked the plant I tried it in the pot I had been eyeing and it fit okay, so then I had to pick that up too. One of the owners said that they'd put it in a slightly smaller nursery pot so that it would fit a little better in the pot and it fits perfectly! I really appreciate that they engage with and take care of their customers. They will be starting up classes and stuff in the near future; they have a studio that I've seen on Instagram and it looks great! So watch their space, I see lots of cool stuff happening in their future.

My absolute favorite plant shop in the city. Desiree is so helpful and knowledgeable, the selection is always amazing, and every plant I've gotten here is THRIVING. I feed my plant addiction with weekly visits at least and it's like a treasure hunt each time.

Omg SUPPORT PLANT PARENTHOOD!! LOve love loveeeee this cute little plant shop in the middle of the loop!! They have a variety of different types of plants and pots. The STAFF is very personable, friendly and knowledgeable! The aesthetic of the store is extremely pleasurable. It is absolutely a great addition for the city since there aren't plant shops around that area that I am aware of. It is definitely an eye candy for all plant parents. We definitely will be stopping there again to adopt more plant babies. :)

Warmest welcome, expert help, but not intimidating if you don't know anything (like me!).

Picked up a ficus lyrata tree here and it's a beauty. Prices are fair and I really appreciate that…read morethey carry the medium-leaf tree form, which I prefer over the more common large-leaf version. This is actually my second tree from them. The first one I bought about seven years ago is still going strong, so I know their plants are healthy and well cared for. I'm excited to see how this new one grows and evolves in our dental office at Lumiere Dental. The characteristics of the tree are stunning. The owner was very kind, wrapping it carefully for transport, helping load it into the car, and offering helpful care tips. A wonderful experience all around.

So to just stumble upon the shop was another delight. I wish I could have taken all I wanted but I was walking. Absolutely stunning. A selection to die for. Colors I've never seen in floral shops. It's not going to be cheap, but you are going to enjoy every moment they are in your home. Also although it's a little cramped and I felt the need to hide a little bit in the store as to not be in the way, I never felt ignored. I was asked several times if I needed help/was being taken care of. The woman wrapping my bouquet/vase did a phenomenal job, it lasted another 1.5 mile walk, Lyft back to our hotel, and another night/day at our hotel. Thank you so much!

I wouldn't come back. There wasn't a great selection of rare or common plants and the salesperson…read moreworking was neither friendly nor helpful. He was condescending and it wasn't a great experience. Despite the fact that the plants looked healthy, there isn't much that I can say positively. I felt uncomfortable asking questions. As a novice houseplant enthusiast, the appeal of local plant shops are the shop employees/owners valuable input. By the way, monsteras were reclassified as Araceae and aren't considered a philodendron anymore. When I had asked a clarifying question bc he asked me for the genus of the plant, I thought I understood and said "oh like a monstera?" And in a condescending tone he said, uh no, that's the species, it's a philodendron. Awkward/off putting experience. I wouldn't go out of my way again to come back.

Update: November 26, 2021…read more Plants are still lovely. But I'm pretty disappointed and not sure I'll be back anytime soon, since there are lots of plant shops in the city and suburbs to visit so I don't have to maintain my loyalty here. Very sad since I'd just shared on Yelp Insta that this was my favorite plant shop in the city. Let me explain. I attended their Small Business Saturday after-hours party. I had been looking forward to it for over a week. When I got there, not a single person in the store besides me was wearing a mask, and there were at least 10 others in the shop. They did have cans of some type of beverage sitting out, so it *might* have made sense of people were drinking, but I only saw one person who was drinking anything. Staff didn't have masks on either. I'd been so excited to perhaps find a rescue plant or get a cutting of a plant, in addition to probably leaving with a neon pothos, and now I'm annoyed I planned my day around this and it was such a letdown. But it was just real awkward and I felt like the strange one for being masked. I didn't want to ask if there were rescue plants/cuttings/etc. since I wasn't about to get close to people. So weird since they had what I thought was a Dailey firm stance on them other times I'd visited! They didn't ask for a vaccination card/image, but when they said "vaccine required", I didn't realize it also meant "masks optional".
