This was our first visit after switching from a place in Snohomish for convenience. I called to schedule a grooming appointment, but somewhere along the way there was clearly a miscommunication, because when I picked up my dog, he had only received a bath and brush. (And ear cleaning.) Great. No actual grooming was done. Which is what I called for when I made the appointment... It's also worth noting that they ask for a tip before you even see your dog. I tipped, assuming everything would be done and I'd be very happy. It wasn't until I got home that I realized they hadn't trimmed the hair around his paw pads or sanitary areas...basic grooming items. (I had also requested the anal gland expression and de shedding, so who knew at that point what was even done.) I called the next morning to see if I could bring him back in to have this corrected. I explained that I was not upset but understood that confusion happens. Well, there was no concern about making this right. I was told they don't offer that as a standalone service and that I'd need to book another bath appointment. What?! Giving my dog another bath two days in a row is not only terrible for my dog, but it's also unnecessary $$. So that response was surprising. After pushing a bit, they said they could "get approval" to do the standalone services if I brought him back and paid the price difference. At that point, it wasn't about the $20. The prices are all reasonable. It was about the lack of ownership and effort to make things right after they missed core parts of the service I originally requested. This was their chance to retain a new customer and they just didn't care. I chose not to bring him back because the experience left me with very little confidence in their care or customer service. I was really hoping to find a reliable local spot in Lake Stevens, but unfortunately, this isn't it.

Not once during that call did anyone mention I'd need to bring vaccination records. I drove half an hour from Marysville, brought my senior mother along because she loves helping wash my dog, and when I arrived they couldn't locate my dog in their system. They explained new ownership acquired the business about a year ago, then told me they couldn't serve me without my dog's rabies records on hand -- which I have, but had no reason to bring since no one told me to. When I asked for a one-time exception given the drive and the fact that I'd called first, the employee flatly refused, insisting it was "required by state law" that they verify vaccination records for every animal. That is simply false. Washington has no such law. Requiring proof may be their store policy, and that's their right -- but lying to a customer's face to justify it is not. No apology. No accommodation. No acknowledgment that their own phone staff failed to inform me. Over an hour of my day and my mother's wasted. I won't be back, and I'd encourage others to think twice before trusting what this business tells you.
