I knew this would be a generally big purchase, so I planned ahead. I researched mattress types on the website and most importantly, I scoped out prices. I found a memory foam one in my price range. I wanted the lower-middle class of mattresses--not the bargains that they advertise on the windows, but not the tempur pedic ones either. I tried out a few mattresses and laid there for a while to simulate how it would really be. I picked the most comfy, paid and selected a delivery date. The sales manager had a balanced approach--he left me to my "research" but was available with questions. I'm the type to ask thorough questions, and he was knowledgeable and patient. The delivery was within the time window I chose. The delivery guys offered to take their shoes off (a good thing for an Asian home) and they went upstairs. The problem was that after a few nights I noticed that that memory foam mattress seemed to have a divot or something. And only on the one side. I rotated to the other side and it wasn't as bad. I knew I wanted to change it out. I also realized that the plush memory foam was not supportive enough. Fortunately I could exchange within the 100 days (of the purchase price) and for additional money ($150 fee plus the difference from the second mattress). Currently I have only slept in the second mattress for a few nights. They say it needs to be "broken in" for a few weeks. So far, it's good. I've had good sleep, not like where I wake up ready to take on the world, but good. I feel confident that if there are any more issues, Mattress Firm will work with me to get things straightened out.

    The couch we ordered and received timely is solid, the color and style requested and comfortable…read more This is not our first purchase from Martin's, so it was reasonable to expect all to go as planned. However, there was a delivery fee. Our home is in Morton, Illinois, only 40 miles from the store. I feel that is close enough to not have a delivery fee added. When the couch was delivered, I asked the two technicians if they would help me move the couch we already had to the garage, which they readily agreed to. As an appreciation, I gave them a $20 tip, for the three minutes it took to move the couch. As we learned later, there was a $50 fee from Martin's for the two technicians to move the couch. Certainly, a surprise. I won't make that mistake again.

Again, out of state- not sure what the prices are like in general in this area. We placed an order and it was cancelled because of a pricing error on the side of the company. We had called to follow up on the order, didn't hear anything back. Called again, can't find it. Emailed the receipt and finally get a call back 1.5 months after our order- Oh we thought this was taken care of, you were told that was not an honorable price/sale. Well, obviously we were not told- as we keep following up. You can't advertise things online and then swoop in and cancel orders because you don't like the price you sold them at. I have a whole house to furnish, will not be using them.
