On Saturday, July 11th I was doing my weekly laundry and my dryer broke down. I needed it so I would have clean clothes to wear to work on Monday. I needed a new dryer BEFORE Monday. I shopped online and found what I wanted at Sherman's appliance. It was priced very competitively and promised to delivery TO-MARROW. I placed my order, and received a call from Jessie to schedule a delivery time on Sunday. I mentioned to him I really wanted to go to church in the morning but I would wait for the delivery men. He told me he'd do whatever he could for me. . Sunday morning around 8am I received a call from Pierre, one of Sherman's deliver team. He said that he and his partner, Demauris, were on their way to deliver and install my new dryer first thing because Jessie had noted I wanted to go to church. They arrived shortly after and were all the things I mentioned at the beginning of this review. They did a great job and I was able to get to church. Believe me when I say I thanked God for Sherman's, their great employees, and the blessing of my new dryer. . I just went in to buy a mattress and one of the female associates was very rude with me explaining the differences. I asked the difference between a sterns and foster and sealy she snapped back and said "I just told you how those are made!" When I was about to leave I asked if I could get a quote for the one I liked and she made a sarcastic remark "since you work at State Farm I assume you have one of those fancy camera phones... why don't you go back up and take a picture with that..." one of the worst customer service expieriences I have ever had! 10/10 would not recommend. read more

I have always found the Sherman's sales department to be helpful in finding the answers to my appliance needs, whether it be recommending a service check first to properly diagnose the problem before buying a new high end model appliance, or a mere replacement for an older worn out appliance. They are never pushy, always patient and very professional in their approach. I just purchased a replacement washer and they had the model I was looking for in stock and at a great price. Bought a few thousand dollars in furniture. Delivery crew damaged all 3 pieces and our doorway! Completely careless in our home. This is a serious problem with this company. Furniture repair man - Marty has been the only pleasant part of our experience. Furniture won't be repaired for a month. You would think Sherman's would proactively offer some form of discount/price adjustment since we have now purchased damaged furniture instead of new....nope. Very disappointing. read more

I am beyond frustrated with Sherman's. We ordered a table in the beginning of March and they told us it would be 6 weeks. We keep calling and it got pushed back and pushed back and pushed back. Finally my table and bench came in (in the middle of December) but not my chairs so seeing that it's past Christmas I told them to just to deliver the table and bench and I'll worry about the chairs whenever they get here. They said no problem they'll deliver it on Thursday. They call me Thursday at 2:00 after me waiting at home all afternoon for them to tell me that they wouldn't be able to deliver it on Thursday after all and then it will now be Sunday. Cut to today they call me this morning and told me that they were delivered between 2:00 and 4:00. Perfect I thought, I'll take my kids swimming this morning and we'll grab lunch and then be back home around 1:30. They called my husband at noon (who's in Chicago) telling him they were there at the house and since I'm not here I'm being bumped down the line. Seriously this is the most expensive piece of furniture I've ever bought in my life and I don't even have it!! read more

I rarely write reviews but my experience was exceptional. My dryer quit over a weekend just before my family was headed on vacation. My washer was also on the verger of needing to be replaced. I saw a click to chat option on Sherman's website Saturday night when I was trying to find inventory that could be purchased and installed before we left town, which was very hard to find. When I used the click to chat on the Sherman's website, I was so pleased as I got to talk with a live sales representative, not a chat bot. The sales rep texted me all kinds of options and we finalized the sale at 9:30 pm Saturday evening. I then shared I was in hopes of quick delivery and he was able to arrange it for Monday, before we left town. It was one of the best customer service experiences I have ever had...truly incredible! Bought a 50" plasma at Shermans in Normal, had it in my house for about 25 days and realized I should upgrade to the 60" :) With their 30-day policy, it was no problem. Brought the 50" back in, got the last 60" in stock of the same model and took it home that night. I put it up on the stand and what do I find, a huge crack across the entire TV! Called up Shermans to see how to proceed since it was the last in stock, and they told me I could take the TV on display for a discount, sounded great! Brought back the broken TV, and the staff already had the display TV in the back and were putting the stand on. Unfortunately, the warehouse employee used a power drill to screw on the stand and they broke off in the holes. Now what? The salesman offered the upgraded model for the same price, perfect! We bought a stove for our son and his wife when they got married last October. We had bought things from Sherman's before and were satisfied with them so we chose to go there because I felt that it was better than going to a big box store if we ever needed service on the appliance. Our kids like to grill out so they had not used the oven until recently. They turned it on to preheat and after only a couple of minutes, it had a fire inside (with nothing in the oven yet) that had flames shooting up the sides. It became so hot that it melted a spoon holder setting on the top. They turned the gas off and the fire went out. They carried the stove out into the yard to get it out of the house. I called Sherman's and asked for the service department and the man told me that it sounded to him like a LP conversion done wrong. Sherman's had done the conversion before they installed it. They set up a service appointment. My husband and I decided since it was still under warranty that we did not trust the stove after it had a fire and had gotten that hot. The inside of the stove is black instead of the blue color it was to begin with and the top of it is brown. They want to "fix" it?!? I went to the store personally and asked to talk to the manager about the fact that we felt it was not a safe thing to have in our house after it got so hot and we wanted to have it replaced since it was still under warranty. The repair man came out and could not find the cause and he wanted to put it back in our house and turn the gas back on and see what happened. We would not let him. We were lucky it did not start a fire in the kitchen the first time - not testing it in our house. We asked them to take it back and test it all they wanted in their store but they would not do it. They are now refusing to do anything about it because we will not let them hook the stove back up in our house. I can't believe that they will not refund our money or give us some kind of credit since it is still under warranty. No Stars. I purchased a Maytag washer W10775517B on Black Friday with the extended warranty at a cost of greater than $1000. 2 weeks ago it stopped working. Technician has been here twice and it still doesn't work. The washer it replaced was over 20 years old . The only trouble we had with the old machine was at the end when it started to leak. I am glad we did not buy a dryer at the same time . Next time, I'll go to Lowe's. That is where I got my new dishwasher. A year later, it still works. They are now advertising that you can ask any sales person to check competitor's prices on their iPads! What a great way to be innovative without a large investment. Would never patron again. Rudest salesman ever encountered. If my builder didn't use them we never would have bought here. Purchased 4 GE Profile appliances two of which have had to be repaired within 6 months of having them. It is so bad that Paul Sherman called me and he pretty much said we can't please everyone. We purchased a new built in microwave and paid to have the microwave installed ourselves. The day after the microwave was installed the microwave door handle push button broke off. The microwave was still on and running with the light and table going with food stuck inside. We let Sherman's know the same day. They refused to give us a new microwave and told us we needed to use the warranty at GE. GE agreed to replace the microwave almost a month ago. After about two weeks with the broken microwave still on with food stuck inside our entire kitchen and house started to smell and you could see mold growing on the food. We had to go into the store personally to demand they send a employee out to remove the food. Sherman's also brought the exact same microwave as the broke one we purchased to our house as a loaner. Sherman's refused to install the loaner microwave they brought. The huge microwave is taking up our entire counter and isn't even on the same side as an outlet on the counter. Today 12/31 GE brought the new microwave and it had a large dent in the microwave. They said they will have to order a new microwave and go through the warranty again which could take another month. We called Sherman's and the customer service department was very rude and told us they will NOT install the same exact loaner microwave because it's not their fault GE is taking so long. I highly recommend using another appliance store with better customer service. We are about to just order this microwave from Dick Van Dyke Appliance World. We ordered from them before with wonderfully customer service unlike what we have received from Sherman's for the be past month. read more

I purchased a couch and loveseat from Sherman's and ask about the warranty on them due to the fact that our previous couch from Ashley the stitching started coming apart and now my love seat has worn though on the arm in 4 months and when I called to have it fix they told me that it's not covered because some of the foam looks like it is missing. We purchased a whole suite of kitchen appliances from Sherman's on the New Years Day sale. We worked with Ron who was very knowledgeable and worked with us to price match to ensure the best deal possible. We arranged for appliances to be delivered which took longer than we thought but were still very satisfied with the timeframe. When the appliances were delivered we found out the orifices for the range to convert from natural gas to LP were actually not included as we were told when we purchased. We worked with Dennis who was able to find the orifices in their Peoria store and arrange for delivery the very next day at no additional charge. Great experience working with Sherman's, couldn't recommend them any more. You won't get service like they provide at a box store and their prices were better too. read more

The reason I rated my experience as I did is because of Nathan Sanford. Nathan is the salesman that we have worked with for several purchases. Nathan provides outstanding service at the time of the sale as well as follow up service. We were having problems with the television we recently purchased. Nathan took the time to come to our home and worked to resolve the issue. This was on a Sunday afternoon. Last year in April I bought a matching Samsung washer and dryer. It has been a total nightmare. Washer needed repair within first month, after several repair visits, including using a loaner washer for a time, returning original one which again failed, we did end up with a new and different brand washer. That was all within first year, NOW the dryer is not working properly and of course out of year warranty. Repair department did agree to fix it at no charge to keep me a satisfied customer, which I am thankful for that, but they repaired last Friday and went to use if for first time yesterday and its doing same thing as before....NOT working right yet...I will say Sherman's repair guys all good, but the time wasted for repair, call time, parts has not been pleasant. I am very disappointed in new and improved appliances. They are throwaway models. I was beginning to think it was me, but then realized prior to this washer I had a maytag that was 19 years old , and 1 repair on it in all those years. Oh and good part, Sherman's told me I should make contact to Samsung direct....oh my, talking to someone in outer Mongolia or wherever not fun. I had to tell them, there is no way I can understand you. sorry. Caroline at Sherman's did help me make those contacts. Wow! This is how you should run a brick and mortar business, if you want to succeed in an internet world. We went shopping for a new dishwasher and refrigerator. We did our research on-line, and did some shopping around town. But, from the minute we walked into Sherman's, I knew we'd come to the right place. Our salesman, Eric, was incredibly professional, knowledgeable and patient. He knew the appliances inside and out, and really helped us find exactly what we wanted. And, if that wasn't enough, he carried a tablet and searched for the best possible price on each appliance and then matched that price. We saved a LOT of money, and couldn't be happier. The dishwasher was delivered the very next day (on a Sunday no less). They called at 9:00, said they'd be there between 10:00 and 12:00 and showed up promptly at 10:00. The delivery man was prompt, efficient and professional. I have never been more satisfied with a purchase, and will never again shop for an appliance or home electronic anywhere else. We bought the full GE Profile line in May and have had nothing but problems and Sherman's is happy to keep fixing them. We have had a new motor on our dishwasher and our fridge has been fixed numerous times. We are to the point that the fridge freezes items and if I need ice it keeps coming till I open the door to shut it off. This follows it being so loud it sounds like it is going to take off. My salesman has told me he is not in the resale business. The customer service lady has explained they have to keep coming to fix it until service can't at which point they would trade it out. She does want me to know she understands though. This has been the absolute worst service I have ever dealt with and the only good thing I can say is the repair men are nice and I think I have met all of them. I would strongly urge you to look elsewhere to purchase appliances where they actually show you they value you their customer rather then just keep telling you and doing nothing to resolve the concern. read more
