When I was looking for bedroom furniture I asked it they remove existing furniture (this was important to me as I am unable to remove these myself). I was told that yes they will do that, as part of delivery and set up, I purchased my furniture on that basis. Much to my surprise when the delivery guys got here, they said for liability reason they don't remove. I called the store and was told the sane, but they do charge $159 each piece to remove. I could have arranged to have soneobe here prior if I had known that. I have to give 0 stars for the store, I guess misleading customers for a commission is the way they do business. I do give the delivery guys tho 5 stars, they are a third party delivery team and they did an outstanding job. Fortunately the mattress delivery guys had removed the bed which they went above and beyond of what they needed to do. I had been planning on buying additional furniture from Ashley, but will no longer be doing that. read more

We purchased an expensive, twin-sized bed at Ashley HomeStore in Bloomington, Illinois. We used a payment option they offered that would break the total payment into 3 separate payments. In ALL of this, there have been miscommunications, date changes, and confusion. We know we have been, Hoodwinked, Bamboozled, hoaxed, and Hornswoggled, like highway robbery without a gun. We are so disappointed with the treatment over the bed being "tilted" or crooked, not "damaged" like they keep questioning/suggesting. I am truly saddened that at my age, health, and visible disability, these are the young people that I'm engaged with in all of this. Young people that in a "reputable" business/store and organization there is a lack of integrity in many areas, and the one person I trusted flushed his "integrity" down the drain/toilet on 5/25/2023. Josh called during the evening and tried to get us to accept what the store felt was the issue with the bed and became agitated with me, so my final statement was "Does your mother know you lie like this" he hung up. I can't speak to the furniture/delivery process yet but we've had a good experience so far. We went to Ashley twice in search of a mattress and bed. We look young and both times we were in casual clothes--still, we were treated professionally and politely. We came in and they gave us a quick rundown of the store (different finishes on the same piece, styles in each section), which actually saved us some time and hassle. While in the mattress section, someone came by every 10 minutes to see if we needed anything. When we didn't, they didn't push. I'd say we interacted with 5 different salespersons and all of them were helpful and unintrusive. The entire checkout process was painless and Taha, who was awesome, worked with us to find the right price. Downside: delivery is 6-8 weeks out, but it's Covid. I'll update if I'm displeased with the rest of the process. PS There was hand sanitizer and all the staff were in masks, plus they suggested social distancing. Appreciated. read more

We intially went to the East Peoria store and found a couch we loved. They quoted us at a decent price but we needed to go back and measure just to be sure. Since we're located in Bloomington, we figured we'd go in there since it's closer. That was a mistake - the manager Aaron was rude, confrontational, and questioned are knowledge from the original quote. We walked away because we didn't want to give them our business and decided to go back to East Peoria. The drive is worth it and the workers in East Peoria are so much more friendly. Overall good experience, everyone at the store was nice and helpful. But two days before delivery I called and made sure they were going to move my old bed frame and mattress and they said they would for free since the value of what I had was over a certain amount. They did not remove my old mattress they said it didnt show in the order and I had told them i just called about it the other day and they still said the couldnt. Wonderful experience doing a very impromptu trip to buy a lift assist chair for my mom who has mobility limitations and struggled to get out of the rocker she's been in for years. Several of the team worked to circumvent a power strip short that kept several of the chairs from powering up (mom obviously wanted to try before you buy). Paris, the sales associate was quite patient with her trying all 6 of the available chairs, and Steve, the floor manager let us buy the unit mom selected right off the floor. I was in a bit of a rush to get it home in my pickup because of a storm on the radar--Steve told Paris we "could use a mattress bag" to cover it because the store obviously doesn't stock covers for all of their furniture. We did drive through a downpour on I-39 to get it home where her neighbor, a young ex-Marine, helped get it into the house. For any fellow Christians, it brought a smile to my face for mom to call this a "God thing". read more

We bought a brand new sectional from Ashley furniture. They price matched for us so we got a great deal. The sales staff is super friendly and the delivery people are top-notch. They got a huge sectional down a relatively narrow staircase into our basement without so much as a smudge on our walls. I was very apprehensive since the last place we bought furniture from used delivery guys who scratched up our walls pretty badly. I would definitely recommend the store. read more

We are still waiting for our couch and it is not currently scheduled to be delivered until early September. When asked about a discount on our purchase, they gave us 20% off our NEXT PURCHASE. I went to Ashley specifically because they told me I would have my couch by surgery date. It's been over 2 weeks, and no word from them, so I call and the snotty lady on the phone said it's policy to say 28 days. Well, wouldn't have bought a couch for my upcoming surgery if I would have been without furniture for a month. I was told by my salesman I would have it in time, so now I can't even recover in my home like planned (which is more poor planning on my behalf) but still. In October of 2015, my spouse and I purchased a bed set (bed frame, dresser, side table), and a couch from Ashley Furniture. We thought we asked all the right questions, decided to finance the whole thing together. Our couch and everything was delivered by some awesome delivery guys in a reasonable and expected time frame. The problem is that our couch is made of ply wood. The staples have come out, the bottom of the couch has sunk in and broken just sitting on it. I have never had a couch made this terribly before. No support. The one in the store was clearly a false example of what we paid for. I am absolutely livid that this happened. Our bed set is in better condition. The 1 star isn't just for the tragic couch but also the lies we were fed about the entire situation. I will not be shopping at Ashley's ever again. read more

I made the mistake of buying furniture at Ashley I was told don't do it but I bit. We asked the salesperson about the poor reputation of Ashley and she stated Ashley has levels of quality. Entry level for young people. Poor quality but affordable. Second she showed us their high quality stuff. It looked good and was moderately priced. We also bit on the extended warranty stating if anything at all goes wrong they will fix. 2 years later the cushions are flat like beanbags and uncomfortable. We bought a chottoman and the upper and lower cushions have a one inch gap between. I have contacted ashley and the extended warranty company. They blamed it on cushion compression. I was told to readjust and fluff the couch after each use maintenance". Please consider their poor reputation because it is well earned. read more

Ordered living furniture and the sales person said it would be delivered in 3 weeks. It's now been 5 weeks with no furniture. When I called they said it could be another week or two. My recommendation is to not waste your time with this overpriced, unreliable business!!! I've always loved Ashley furniture products but will go to another store that sells their products in the future. Oh--and when I went back to the store to pay the balance in full, all of a sudden they "realized" they didn't charge me tax on my order?! So, the price went up over a hundred dollars. bought a mattress from them and a recliner. the zipper was broke under the recliner seat and stuffing came out within a week they do not honor their warranties. If I could give ZERO stars I would! I have NEVER experienced such POOR customer service in my entire life. My furniture was finally delivered December 8th after being ordered July 3rd, 2020. My first delivery date was back in October, but apparently my couch was "damaged" which they left it at home as a "loaner" while waiting on the next delivery of my permanent couch. That was all fine, I understand that Covid is affecting all businesses, and my complaint is not at all about the time waiting or the furniture itself. It is their CUSTOMER SERVICE, or should I say "lack of." I was told because of all that had happened, I would be refunded my delivery fee after my "permanent" couch was delivered. I called the day after (the 9th) I received it to ask how that refund would be given, I was called back on the 10th by Liz and told that they would credit 80 dollars back to my card. I told her that I was pretty sure I paid over twice that for my delivery fee and I would check my receipt when I got home from work. She responded in a rude and unprofessional tone. When I got home, I called back because my receipt confirmed what I had thought, and the delivery fee with considerably more than the 80 dollars. Liz answered again, and again in a very rude tone told me that she was giving it to her manager to take care of. I asked when he would be calling and she said she was putting my name in front of him. I have called everyday since and have been assured Tim or a manager would get back to me, as well as being told "I will put your name in front of "Tim"" Yesterday, I called again, while actually in Bloomington, and told them that I was going to come in and get all of this taken care of. Stephanie, the woman who answered the phone was very nice and understanding, but told me that the manager was off for the day. An assistant Manager called me back (I do not remember his name, but he was also professional and told me that I would be receiving a call from Tim "tomorrow" to get all of this taken care of. I have yet to hear from Tim, and would put money on it that he nor any other manager will be calling today. It has been a Nightmare working with the managers and some of the rude people who work there. I understand that stress is high, but all I need is 5 mins of someone's time to get the refund I was told to expect. I will NEVER shop their again and I will tell anyone looking for furniture to steer clear. Horrible customer service! Rude employees! DO NOT SHOP HERE! Finally got a call back from Tim, the Manager at the Bloomington Ashely store after 2 WEEKS of phone calls. I was told I would not get my refund because the loaner couch, which was ALREADY BUSTED, had "paint" on it. Which I assume was nail polish from the 4 kids that I told them I had as well as telling them I was UNCOMFORTABLE keeping a couch that is not mine in my house because of my children and my dogs. Then he not only misquoted me in our conversation, fabricated things I said to him as well as he said to me, he then had the AUDASITY to tell me that "No one is mad about the couch I sent back." To which my responses was, "I do not care if they were, I told you in the first place I was uncomfortable with having it in my home because of the chances that something would happen to it. You left it in my home anyways, knowing that I have children as well as dogs and I was uncomfortable with the situation. Not only that, you yourself would NOT let me keep this particular couch because you claimed it was busted!"How was I able to ruin a couch that was busted in the first place?! DO NOT GO HERE! The Management is TERRIBLE. He lied to me, misquoted me, took things out of context, and lied about what HE said to me in our conversations back in October. This is the WORST experience I have ever had, and how they are still in business is beyond me.Someone needs to do something about Tim and how this store is being run. He clearly has an issue with lying or his memory is going bad. Either way, he does not belong in customer service. When we called the next day, we don't need two items, he didn't even tell us either...When I called the store manager, she said, 'No one forced you to swipe your credit card.' Ordering furniture from Ashley for the third time. For the third time we are told "a week or two at most (estimated 2/17)... we'll call in a couple days with delivery options," only to have to call them and hear that our bed frame won't be in until March. There always seems to be SOME reason that delivery is pushed back. There is a pattern. (Just stop lying to customers when they pay and be honest about delivery to begin with!) We're also told that they can't deliver our mattresses when they're in and then deliver the frame separately. It's not my fault the frame even NEEDS to be delivered separately! Again, I was told they'd all be in and delivered together. (Also, we spent almost $4,000, why am I even paying for delivery to begin with?) Our current mattress has me in pain and I need our new mattress immediately, I can't wait another month. However, since we're upgrading from queen to king, I guess we'll just have to throw our new mattress on the floor like animals for a month since we won't have a frame for it! I recently moved to a new place and have bought quite a few pieces of furniture - some from Ashley and some from the other furniture stores in town - Martin's and Furniture Row. Customer service from the other two stores is far superior to Ashley's. This morning I asked them to accommodate for a personal situation my need for the delivery timing of a kitchen table and chairs I bought from them. They didn't even attempt to look at their scheduling and see if they could do anything to help me. Just in a bored, cold monotone said no, we can't change the timing. I think from now on I'll just take my business to Martin's and Furniture Row. They've both been very accommodating with the deliveries of the pieces I've bought from them. read more

I have bought furniture from Ashley Homestore in Bloomington, Illinois on numerous occasions. My last purchase was two couches and I also purchased a warranty. At the time I was told that the warranty would cover pet damage, well it did not. So, I ordered six new cushions for the couches and paid for them, since they weren't covered by the warranty. The cushions came in pairs. Two of the pairs came without the covers put on them. At that time I called the store and explained the situation, at that time I was told that Ashley would make it right, and not to worry. By the time that all of the cushions had arrived, I called the store to ask them for help and they referred me to Customer Service. Customer Service told me that I would need to pay for someone to come to my house to fix two of the six cushions that I ordered and put them in the covers. Conclusively Ashley Furniture does not stand by their word and does not seem to care about their customers. I have received much better service from Sherman's and Furniture Row and that is where I will be taking all of my business in the future. read more

So, I buy a lamp from these people and paid cash for it. $180.00 lamp that I desperately need for my living room because there is no overhead light in my living room. The sales person, John Delich, said that the lamp would be here in a week or two at the most. Then we call after about a week and find out it won't be here until the middle of July. A full 3 weeks AFTER we were told it would be here "at the latest". So, I call to try to cancel the order and these jokers want me to pay them a 30% restocking fee to cancel the order. WTF ARE THEY RESTOCKING??? Don't you have to actually have it IN STOCK to restock it? It isnt even at their distribution center in Wisconsin yet. So why the hell should I pay them anything when 1. They lied to me and 2. They don't even have it to restock. So, I call and talk to the manager at the store and she tells me it is a "processing fee for cancellation". Well, honey, that IS NOT what your paperwork says. It says it is a restocking fee. And in order to restock something you have to actually have it IN stock. They haven't even MADE the damned lamp yet, much less do they need to restock it. Just cancel making the lamp. How much trouble can that be. Then, THEN!!! Then they want me to sit and wait for a check from their accounting department for 3 weeks if I cancel my order (minus that 30% "restocking fee to restock nothing") even though I paid in cash. NOWHERE ON THEIR PAPERWORK DOES IT MENTION THIS!! How can you expect me to wait for 3 weeks for a check when I paid YOU in cash. Give me my cash back! I will be contacting the attorney general of Illinois on Monday about this business and I will be contacting an attorney of my own as well. These people are crooks and they extort people after lying to them. I have done business with the Ashley store in Columbia, Missouri and NEVER have I been treated so poorly by a business in my life. Mattress/bed shopping with my mom. She just moved here from California. She has a bad back so she needed something that would work for her. John.D starts helping us. We go thru the entire store as she's also looks by for other furniture for living room and dining room. My mom finds a bed.. She's quoted $630 before taxes. She pays in cash only to hear that Bloomington has a $50 tax and delivery is another $80. By the time she leave she pays well over $800. Bed is supposed to be in distribution center located in Peoria snd they are calling on Monday to schedule delivery.. Instead.. It's a week late.. My mom still is staying with us as she cannot stay in her home due to no bed.. So I call .. I'm told Sealy has not seen t the bed to the distribution center and Ashley furniture isn't delivering.. The distribution center is. How much longer until we expect a delivery?? The lady says should be here by next tues or weds. Weds comes still no word.. So I call them back. Lady answers again..I am told bed policy is 4-8 weeks.. Well John.D said next week.. That was 2 weeks ago. I tell them she paid in cash we will be wanting her money back. She starts to argue with me about the policy. I go on to tell her.. If we had known that we would have paid CASH somewhere else. So for almost a month on should my mom paid rent on, she could t sleep there. Exactly one month after paid in cash her bed shows up... And now we aren't even sure it's the correct bed. They said someone would call to tell me how to process the rest since it is a different company. After 2 weeks no call, so I call and they said there was no mention of that conversation. I came in mid-February with my husband looking for a couch. We were greeted by an employee (didn't get his name) who asked us what we were looking for. Having browsed the store and being on a tight budget, we told him we were looking for a small sectional at our price point, but didn't see anything that was within our budget. After hearing what we wanted to spend, he laughed at us and agreed that we couldn't afford anything. The appropriate response would have been to, first, not laugh at us, and then discuss financing options to try and make the sale. DO NOT BUY FROM ASHLEY!! I can't stress that enough. We went to Ashley because of a postcard we received in the mail advertising their no interest financing. We were in the market for a new mattress and thought we would go take a look. They quickly took us back to the bedding section and had us lie down on some type of mattress that would indicate what mattress would work best for us. As it turned out, the "best fit for us" was the most expensive mattress in the store. Shocker! We tried it out, and hee-hawed around a bit. It was a lot of money. The first salesperson explained that if we didn't love it, we could return it. There was a second salesperson who had come to help, and she reiterated that we could return the mattress for a small "restocking fee". The fact that we could return it, made it easier to purchase the $8000 bed. We thought we would try it out and if we didn't love it, we could return it. We completed the sale and were on our way. The mattress was delivered several weeks later. We tried the mattress out for 25 days and we just didn't love it. We kept hoping we would get used to it, but we didn't. It was too hot (despite the additional "snow" mattress pad we purchased for an additional $300!), and we couldn't get used to sleeping with our head or feet up (the zero gravity setting was what the salesperson said is the best way to sleep). We called on the 25th day to set up a time for them to pick the mattress up. We were told by the store Sales Manager that Customer Service was closed on Sunday and Monday, but he would contact them on Tuesday and get things started - set up a time to come pick up the mattress and "refund your money". (That's a direct quote.) Low and behold on Tuesday, he called to inform us that we couldn't return the bed, we could only "reselect" a bed. We told him that wasn't going to work for us since we had been told we could return the bed for a small "restocking fee". He said he would have to speak with someone else and they would call us back early this morning. They did in fact call us early this morning to inform us that we could not return the bed, we could only reselect. When I asked if we could come "reselect" the cheapest twin mattress (because I knew they didn't even have another bed near this price), she (Terri) then changed her story to say we would be issued a store credit. Bottom line - Ashely is one HUGE deceptive practice! We had THREE people tell us we could return the bed FOR A REFUND, and now they refuse to honor that promise. I even have the voicemail message from the SALES MANAGER stating that we would be refunded. DO NOT SHOP THERE!!!!!!!!!!! SAVE YOURSELF THE GRIEF AND FRUSTRATION!!!!!! I ordered dining room chairs from the East Peoria store in January. I was told would be 4 weeks. After 5 weeks I called them and was told 2 more weeks. 3 weeks later I called again and was told 2 weeks. Again, 2 weeks later was getting very annoyed and was told 1 more week. Chairs came and I was able to pick them up at the Peoria location. I had to get them there because I had them assembled. When I picked them up they were stacked on a cart. I looked them over for scratches or any damage from assembly and they looked great. I loaded them and took them home. Once I took the first chair inside I noticed the right front leg was not touching the floor!. I sat in the chair and the it fell to the right. I brought the other chairs inside and 4 out of the 6 chairs had the same leg that was about an inch to short! I was thinking assembly issue. Still angry thinking why would someone assemble these like this and give them to a customer in this condition. When my husband came home he looked them over and measured the short leg. Not an assembly problem. It was a manufacturing problem. I called the Peoria store since that is where they were picked up. After waiting on hold for about 20 minutes, I was told since I purchased them at East Peoria I would need to deal with them. The man from Peoria store said he reached out to the manager at East Peoria store and he would be contacting me directly. I waited until 730 PM and still no call. I called them and got the voicemail. I left a message and did not hear back. I called the next day as soon as they opened and asked for a manager. I was told he was busy and she could help me. I told them I was done being nice. I waited for almost 4 months for the chairs and now I get them and they are crap. She offered to have their craftsman some to my home and repair the chairs. I said no way. Why would anyone pay good money for something and have to have it repaired before you have ever even used it. I told her I was returning the chairs. My husband would be bringing them back after work. She said fine. My husband went to return them and was told we would have to pay 30% restock fee!! He said no way! You would really try to sale these to someone else. He tried to speak to the manager and show him what was wrong with the chairs. Manager had no desire to even look at them. He said I signed a form agreeing to the restock fee when I purchased them. I did sign that form. It was explained to me that was if I changed my mind or decided I did not like them. The chairs were defective. My husband tried to explain that he should be embarrassed that his company produced these chairs in the first place. They argued for several minutes and the manager would not budge. My husband came home with the chairs. He would not pay someone 30% to throw them out. They next day I emailed corporate and was contacted. They said I could return the chairs to Peoria location and then East Peoria would credit my card the full amount. I asked for that in writing since the East Peoria manager was adamant he would NOT refund our money in full. I returned them to Peoria Store. They had manager come up and get the chairs. He was nice. Unloaded them and then stood there while the lady refunded my card. I made sure the money went back in full the next day. I kept asking myself why could it have not gone this was from the start? Why did I have to contact corporate to get this made right. I have made several purchases at Ashley Furniture with no problems. I guess if you have a problem that is when things turn bad. Will never do business with them again. Still need dining room chairs. I was going to go to Shermans but then saw they sell Ashley and said no way. I will not give them my business. read more

Me and my boyfriend went to buy furniture sets from this store, and while making our purchase the salesperson assured us of providing additional side table due to which we agreed to purchase the furniture sets. Apparently, when we were asked to sign the purchase papers, the salesperson did not include the additional side table that he had assured to give us, and started asking for additional $200. When we went to ask the store manager regarding this, she and her other staff ridiculed us than asking her salesperson to provide us the item he had assured us. We were treated very disrespectfully and were stated untrue, and also they did not provide the item that the salesperson had assured us. This was a Very Disappointing experience. We purchased a new mattress and box spring. The sales person was very helpful as he explained the options and answered some questions. He suggested trying out 3 mattress sets that were different firmness. We laid on the beds and rated each one to help us decide which firmness level we agreed on. Ashley offers free delivery and removal of the old mattress and box spring. The set was ready in about 10 days, they called to let us know the date when it could be delivered, called again the day before to give us a time, and on delivery day we received a text message when the driver would arrive at the house. They carried out the old stuff and brought in the new set and were gone within 15 minutes. A really great system to communicate the delivery time. Overall it was a very good experience. read more

Our most recent experience, we worked with Shawn and glad we did as he was a great resource. We've been happy with 100% of the furniture we purchased from Ashley. From couches to entertainment centers. The financing options we are able to have are exceptional. Of our 4 to 5 different purchases we've made with Ashley we've had different associates, working with Shawn was the best.
