I'd like to bring to your attention the horrible experience we had at the Florence location. Not only was Phoenix an awful game host, she informed us at the very beginning that she wasn't in a very good mood and wouldn't be providing clues since it's at her discretion, but my daughter and I both got injured in the room. She continued to let us try to figure it out and get hurt instead of providing a clue. When we did ask for a clue, she told us things that we had already solved. Was she even paying attention to the game at all? It's because of experiences like this that we haven't been to Sherlock's in over a year and will not be back. read more

We had a great experience here. We did the Jr. Jungle room with my seven year old and 11-year-old nephew. The time limit for that room is 30 minutes, so a bit shorter than the other rooms (also a bit more reasonably priced per person). was perfect for us, and we made it out in 20 minutes! i've gone to so many escape rooms and i just had the worst experience ever. it seemed as though the person running the room for us wasn't paying any attention and just letting us struggle after us repeatedly asking for the hints we are allotted. every time he did come on to assist, he was laughing as if he was mocking us for struggling. he closed early right after we walked out the door so it seems like he was setting the other rooms up for closing so he could walk out the same time we did. thanks kaiden! i'll make sure not to come back to this one. read more

Wow. What can I say. We did 2 virtual rooms with a different company this morning and we were soured from that experience. We were pretty low on our expectations for this one but since we were already paid we proceeded. This is night and day above the others. I can't believe how interactive this was. It was themed perfectly and we were able to escape in record time. They had one guy in the room as the participant. He did everything we asked of him and was in character the whole time. I would do another and another and another with this company. We were connected in 3 separate locations across the US We didn't have any technology issues (that weren't self induced ) I would recommend this for any escape room lovers read more

The escape room was as fun as I had hoped! The employees got into their role introducing the particular room you'd be going into and explained the rules and how they'd give out clues very well. The room itself was definitely challenging and while we didn't escape, we did get just a few steps away from getting out. (We like to blame that on choosing a 10pm start time, so I'd recommend going a little earlier.) It seems like it would be a perfect place for a kids birthday party and was also entertaining for adults too, given that they have different levels of rooms depending on if it's just children or adults involved. I'm a firm believer that doing a crappy escape room is better than doing no escape room at all. I've done a lot of them in the Cincinnati area and let me tell you...Sherlock's is among the best. Let me lay some FAQs, on you: 1) Tyler, what makes Sherlock's Escape Room so good? Simple, the owner cares and displays an attention to detail. I actually got the chance to meet the owner while visiting and asked him about the business and why he started it. The owner (sadly, I cannot remember his name) has children at that awkward age where they were too old for Chuckie Cheese, but too young to enjoy boring adult stuff. Voila! Sherlock's Escape Room was born. The rooms at sherlock's have strong and consistent themes and the clues are challenging, but logical. After you finish, the staff brings you to the lobby where they show you some video clips of you making an ass of yourself in said escape room (truly, delightful). If you have a large group, I would recommend the Wild West themed room. 2) Tyler, is it expensive to go to Sherlock's Escape Room? Yikes, yes. But, they're pretty on-par when comparing to other escape rooms. A one-hour escape room will set you back $26 for one ticket. Or, $52 if you're like me and funding a date that will never go anywhere. 3) Tyler, can I bring my younger kids to the escape room? As long as they don't get in my way. Most escape rooms are aimed at a more 12+ age range, but Sherlock's has its very own "Sherlock Jr." room for children 7-12 or adults who want to look like a badass in front of younger kids. The name of the girl who helped us escapes me, Lily maybe. At any rate, she was great. We did pretty well, but didn't quite make it out. We had a lot of fun trying to escape the cabin. Their were three of us and I wish we had a few more people to help. It was challenging trying to get out, which we didn't, but it didn't ruin the fun. We had two adults and a 14 year old and everyone had a blast. I would come back again, with a few more reinforcements. The owner was funny and we loved looking at the pictures of us at the end. They were too funny. Lots of great moments of us looking very confused. My three friends and I had a great time escaping the Cabin in the Woods! Colleen was a great game master and was super fun to work with. The photos and videos they take are something I haven't seen at other escape rooms... they're really fun to watch when you're done! The room looked great, which was also better than other rooms I've done... it really looked like we were in a cabin. The only thing I didn't like was that they briefed all the games in the main waiting area by the desk. It got loud and crowded, and I think we could've been shown the intro video in our escape room on the little screen that they use to keep time and give clues. They also could have given us a clearer introduction to the game... we were sort of unsure when to start because we were never told 'go'. We have done a few escape rooms over the last few years and we found this little gem in northern ky on YELP. Savannah was our guide and made the whole experience fun. We did the pirate escape room and she explained our mission and helped us during the game. Another unique extra they offer is costumes for guests to wear. So yes, we were pirates, argh matey! I booked my two daughters, ages 8 and 10, for the Jr. Sherlock room and it was a great experience. My girls had never been to an escape room before and were excited but apprehensive going in. Steve greeted us when we come in and was great at putting them at ease and getting them ready for the game. Since no one else was playing at the time Steve let me watch(and listen) to them on the big screen in the lobby. He explained everything to me as they went along and helped them out with clues via a walkie-talkie. They didn't end up escaping before time ran out but they still had a fun time and are already begging to go back and try one of the other rooms as a family! read more

Alright y'all I finally did an escape room for the first time! I thought it was fun if you enjoy a brain teaser. So my friends and I did the Cabin in the Woods room at 8:30pm. We had a total of 5 people in the room with us. I believe the maximum number of people allowed is 12, which I think 12 would be far too many at once. It would be "too many cooks in the kitchen" as you could say. So I think 5 was perfect. The staff was very professional and fun. The clues within the room were tricky and creative. We were given 60 minutes to escape the room, by that time we were on the last clue and FAILED to escape! Overall it was a fun experience, they offer several different rooms and even a junior room. The only downfall is I felt it was very spendy. For one hour of entertainment it costed me (and only me) $29 including taxes. If it was cheaper I'd love to try more rooms in the future! read more

It's not about being right. It's about creating an incredible experience! Several colleagues and I booked a session this week in order to experience an Escape Room together for the first time. As professionals in the learning and development field, we were hoping to participate in an enjoyable experience, stepping outside of the role we typically play, facilitating experiences. The online booking process was confusing - there are two locations to select from. The calendar invite that is provided once you have paid provides the Florence Address in the location field. So, though one may think they are booking at their Cold Spring location, the confirmation leads you to believe otherwise. I should have called to clarify, shame on me. On the day of our session, we arrived at the Florence location, following the address on the invite, for our 5:30 game, we were instructed that we had, in fact, booked at the Cold Spring location. While speaking to the associate at the counter, Steve, the owner came out looking ready for a fight. He was visibly flustered, literally ran from the back room to the front and was red faced. He let us know that we were the first and only individuals who had, "ever been confused by their booking process" and that he was "shocked that it showed up in our email" with the Florence Location. Despite being shown 2 copies of the invite on our phones and the emailed confirmation, he argued that it was our email's issue, not his. The company we work for uses the Microsoft Outlook App. Because he had someone waiting for us in Cold Spring, he refused to even consider letting us play in Florence due to having someone scheduled to work there and the Florence site having bookings that evening (understandable). However, when we shared that we weren't able to make the 20-30 minute commute, in rush hour, to get to Cold Spring and complete the session before our next reservation of the evening, he continued to argue sharing "sorry, that is the best that I can do," telling me that the situation was "created by you and therefore your fault." He indicated that the $100+ spent for the experience could not and would not be refunded and that if we wanted to rebook, they would charge an additional $15 fee. Having to go and support a session underway, Steve offered to have his manager call us (interesting since he is the owner). When Heather called, she was polite and offered to save the amount paid as a credit for a future session. Reluctant to speak to anyone else at the company, I agreed. Had a great time doing the Shipwreck room! It's very family and first-timer friendly. Even though most of the rooms have ominous names, we were told there is no gore in any of their rooms. He showed us pictures and videos afterwards that he took during our time locked up and they were hilarious! If we're ever in the area again, we'd definitely go back. read more

We had a great time at Sherlock on a Friday night. It was definitely different than other escape rooms I've done. At Breakout, they have speakers in the room for clues, but at Sherlock they just have Walkie talkies. Serves its purpose either way. We had some issues with our clock counting down at first but it was fixed quickly. We did the Shipwreck room and I enjoyed how challenging it was, but not impossible. I definitely noticed that there were a lot less red herring clues at Sherlock than at Breakout. I was glad for that! I also liked how they had all their record times posted on the wall in the lobby. It was cool to see if we could try to beat the record time for our room. Staff was friendly, too. We will be back to try more rooms! read more

We had a teenage girl birthday party here. We used the party room which was great for Snappy Pizza delivery. We escaped the Cabin In the woods which was a good challenge for our group!
