There was a group of kids that was having a great time walking in the creek. While there is a path right next to the creek, if you have shoes that are good with water, I say just go and walk right in the creek. It's a little under a mile long and you can see little fish, I've heard you might be able to spot a turtle, and I saw a snake! There are other trails that veer off from the creek and there's a good amount of up and down. There are swings and a big shelter with picnic tables scattered around.

Frank Lloyd Wright's work was the inspiration for the pavilion behind the overlook. To the side, shaded by trees are a few picnic tables. A grassy slope infront of the Ransohoff Overlook is a nice place for a picnic. Though maybe a little steep to play. That being said, there are still plenty of places to play. Playground is newer. Great for kids who are into climbing. It is a little harder for smaller children. There is a swing set with two standard swings, one toddler swing, and a handicap swing. A paved path circles the park. There is a green space large enough to run around and play. Watch for dog poop.

I knew I needed to update this review after hiking some of the trails in order to escape my own…read morehome during COVID-19. I've long been a fan of Mt. Airy Forest for how untouched it feels. On a run that turned into a walk (cause homegirl needs to run more, apparently), I was able to walk a couple of trails. Both of them were pretty well maintained. I will say that if you're hiking within a day or two of rain, wear hiking boots or prepare to get your shoes muddy. I have to imagine that these trails are a little muddy more often than they are not. As long as it isn't too wet thought you can relatively easily jump and skip around the muddiest parts to keep your shoes clean. If you don't want to get muddy at all, there's tons of pavement to walk and some areas are blocked off to traffic. During Covid-19, it was great to see folks out and about enjoying the great outdoors. I have always wanted to give disc golf a try and definitely want to make plans to come try out the course at Mt. Airy Forest.

The treehouse was pretty cool to see and near the treehouse was where we started our hike. Plenty of ups and downs on the trail that we went on. I'm not sure if I struggle at following the trail signs, but went the wrong way a couple times and think that the trail that we were trying to follow had multiple names. All was fine though, got to do a bit more exploring. The creek is pretty dried up. I would have liked more signage for hiking trailheads at the entrance of the park, so head to the left (as if you're going to the treehouse) at the entrance if you want to hike. Disc golf looks like it'd be really good here, I hope to come back and try it out.

This 90-acre park near the University of Cincinnati includes hiking trails, a fishing lake, a historic bandstand, playgrounds, shelters, picnic areas and a disc golf course?! I went through here the other day to catch the foliage at Cincy's peak and it was spectacular. A great place for a stroll or a picnic when bringing family or friends down to the beautiful gaslight district in Clifton. It feels crazy to me that this big of a park is located in such an urban area. It felt like being back in New England for a hot second. Definitely recommend checking it out during the day vrs. at night.

Located a short walk from the University of Cincinnati. Burnet Woods is a nice escape. While on…read morethe smaller side, my family and I enjoyed this park. It was created in 1940 by the WPA. One of the areas leading down to picnic area gives patrons the option to take the stairs or the slide. I was surprised how many adults chose the slide. At that point there is also a marker "WPA 1940." There are a couple of hiking trails, that would be easily overlooked if one doesn't venture far enough to the left or right from the picnic area. Just like the park itself, these are fairly short trails. Most of the people at the park looked to be college students. As we were about to leave a few more people with younger children started to arrive. We saw one man fishing. One down side is that we had to drive around to find parking. The sides by the campus are by permit only. After driving around we found the street that went into the middle of the park. No permit required, though it does say "2 hr. parking."

With the leave color starts to change, the park is beautiful. Not much people in the park, though some young people has their stereo playing in the car. It's fine i guess. So far the river and city view is the best for all the Cincinnati park. Could come back here in evening, i bet it will be beautiful!

Great park that is part of the Hamilton County Parks system and requires the affiliated parking…read morepass. It appears that the former golf course may no longer be available. There are several trails, playgrounds, some historic buildings, picnic areas, and extremely clean and well maintained restrooms. We opted for the Miami Fort trail, which offers fascinating signage about the earthworks and mounds that can be seen along parts of the trail, and about the Hopewell and Adena people who constructed them. If you take a close look at the map at the trailhead, it shows you where to look for the fort walls (to your right as you enter the fort, and there is very clear signage on the trail that indicates when you are entering and leaving the fort). We found that helpful for initially orientating ourselves, plus watching for additional signage along the way. The trail is 1.4 miles long, and you can loop all the way around the interior edge of the fort, if desired, or you can go out to the Ohio River Valley Overlook (or do both). We opted to do an out-and-back to the overlook because the other section of the loop seemed a bit overgrown. It's a very pretty forested area, and the overlook is excellent - you can see both Indiana and Kentucky from that point. There's a nice bench to sit and relax. It was definitely a popular spot as we saw several other groups moving along the trail and stopping at the lookout point. Signage at the lookout indicates that the last native group to use the area were the Shawnee, which is how the park's name was chosen. We really enjoyed the historical information and experience the lovely nature on the trail, plus the stunning view!

A beautiful park area that's situated near the Campbell County Seniors Center, the Cooperative…read moreExtension building and Lakeside Terrace. The park features a pond with a fountain and ducks, a winding path, park benches and picnicking areas. An additional path that leads up to the Cooperative Extension building that has another fountain and a lovely display garden. On Tuesdays (in season I suppose) it's also the site of a Farmer's Market from 3-6 p.m.
