First time here in Cincinnati and loving it! I visit parks wherever I visit a city and summit Park has everything: nice well maintained grounds for picnics ala Central Park without the rocks but with glass tower, swings hanging from giant pergolas (love it!) , 3 flight observatory (elevator wasn't working on this day), a stream, Madtree restaurant, a visitor center...just a great place for the entire family including fur babies! read more

Hands down one of the best parks in the Greater Cincinnati area. Just a great place to get out and active by yourself or with the entire family. If you're a runner or just a casual walker, there are many paved pathways or you can opt for the gravel, dirt or wood chip paths through the meadows and forests. The public restrooms near the colorful tiled awning are open year-round while the park is. Whether you find a spot here for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you won't be disappointed. Additionally, most of the park's trails are within its DORA area, so grab a drink too and get out and play! read more

Great park setup - Nice open fields, paved path for bikes, scooters, and strollers, and great playground setup. Also, there's a dog park way on the other side with its own parking lot. Blue Ask did an amazing job turning a decommissioned airport into a community space! Pro: relaxing environment in the open spaces and kids can play and there's options for food and drinks (DORA) Cons: playground setup has no shade, it's amazing so also amazingly popular and can get pretty crowded. read more

I remember before it became a park it was a small airport. It's really come a long way. We've been here before to dine in at the Senate but we didn't get to walk around. Our friends invited us to the CFTA Food Fest that they have every year (Food Trucks). That was really fun! They definitely keep this park very clean and maintained. I love the greenery and the landscape. Besides festivals, they also have live bands and also hiking which me and Mr will check out in the future. This park is growing. New restaurants and now apartment complexes nearby. What a great addition to the Blue Ash area. I'm a fan! read more

Absolutely adore Summit Park. There's so much green space to enjoy. The kids playground that is nearest a restaurant is always clean and safe. It does get quite busy in the summer and on neice days. Bathrooms are directly connected to that area of the park so no worries as a mom. I enjoy their ice-skating movie night and the ability to access several amazing restaurants and ice cream shops The sledding Hill outback is amazing during the winter and the manicure trail system throughout the park makes it great for all walks of life to enjoy read more

This is not your typical park! Back in my day, I enjoyed playing on their wonderful playset which is much superior to other parks. The maze of ropes made climbing an exhilarating experience as a little lad. I wish I still had the knees for it. LOL. They also built a new playscape which seems exciting for the young ones. This wonderful park has a wide variety of cuisines expanding from soft served ice cream to flavor bursting tacos(very affordable which is a huge plus!) I'm aware it's summer, but I would be doing everyone a disservice if I didn't bring up the ice rink they have in the winter. My knees(LOL) keep me from experiencing the joy of it myself, but the joy radiates off of my kids every time I bring them! Now, you might be saying to yourself, "Marq, all of this sounds great, but is it really a 5-star park?" Look, I understand your confusion. I mean, really, how can a park in the middle of Ohio be so grand? To this I have 2 simple words: line ***drum roll*** DANCING. Yes! I am not lying to you! Every Monday during the summer they have an exquisite FREE line dancing class. A great workout and a fun activity! The class is lead by a professional named Erica who is great! She always gets us hyped up. She can even teach someone who has 2 left feet and bad knees(LOL) like me how to dance! Erica plays an extensive range of songs expanding away from just country. If I'm not mistaken, Summit Park offers free exercise classes every day of the week. Me personally, I stick to line dancing. By far, the worse dog park I've seen. Gates broken & held together with bungees. If your dog isn't muddy yet, it will be after they stop by the perma-puddle. As you can see, the grass is very thin. This guarantees any rain will turn everything into a mud pit. They do have water available. Intermittently. There's no rhyme or reason as to when they have the water turned on. It's best to bring your own If your dog gets thirsty. I'll be honest, the benches are nice, but blue ash had NOTHING to do with this. It was an Eagle Scout project that cost the city nothing. In the back ground, you can see the tower that pays 'tribute' to the airport they plowed under to build this embarrassment. It was only ope until the second person committed suicide. And has been closed ever since. You can't even get to the water fountain or bathrooms they fenced in. The city only seems to care about the areas that bring tax money. Anything else gets neglected. If you want a quality dog park, try FurField. It's a drive. One glimpse will show you what a quality dog park. It only bears a resemblance to this travesty as it has hates. (That work) read more

In a nutshell, Summit Park is a family focused, lovely landscaped, picnic ready shadeless park. What works: -- Amenities - Clean bathrooms, diverse food selection, engaging kids play area, and family furry friendly. -- Landscape - Seriously, the landscapers deserve a round of applause. I found myself commenting on the flower selection arrangement and placement the entire visit. -- Cleanliness - The park was clean and free of debris. What needs improvement: -- Signage - There signs indicating upcoming events but I did not see a sign or map detailing the features and their location in the park. -- Shade - It's August, 92 degrees and 12 trees and 3 pergolas for the entire park! -- Parking - I went on a day where traffic was light but there was a clear disconnect in the number of parking spaces and the size of the park. If there are events here, I suspect parking will become an issue. Overall, I enjoyed my visit to Summit Park and do see myself returning in the future if there are special events. This is a great place for families and I can easily see a family spending hours at the park effortlessly on the weekend or during the summer months. As a single childless adult, I can see Summit park as a good place for hanging with friends or a first date. It's really cool seeing what Summit Park has become in the last few years or so. I went to high school close by when it was an airfield that eventually closed, so it's really nice seeing a green space utilized with pieces of what it used to be, while also being appreciated and used in new ways. This park has everything you could need for a fun filled day or evening. There are paved and gravel walking trails, lakes to view and fish and a nature "splash pad". There is a bigger kids playground and a tots option. There is also a nature play scape with digging areas as well. It is dog friendly, family friendly and elderly friendly at this park. There are sweet treat options as well as dining. The water feature play area could use some cleaning up, there is a lot of algae which is a big fall hazard for children and adults. read more

We recently attended an event with children at Summit Park. There was some kind of mixup with the room reservations and the way the employee handled it was unimaginable. To say it was inappropriate is a kindness. He yelled, cussed, and literally got in the face of attendees, all in front of children ranging in age from newborn to five. When asked to step outside and conduct his phone call because there are children around, he responded he did not care if there were children and continued to cuss. It was an unsafe environment with a man who cannot control himself or his emotions. He should be immediately removed from employment and I would suggest no one book space there in the meantime and risk possibly having this man at your event. read more

One of my favorite places to go while in Cincinnati. It opened six-ish years ago, just as I was moving out of Loveland. The play area for kids is outstanding, and there are lots of good food options. Right now, there's a seasonal skating rink. Hopefully I'll be able to take my kids, as we're visiting old Cinci friends for the next few days. read more

Wow!!! What a great park in Blue Ash. I wish this was here when I worked in the area several years ago! Got an early morning walk completed around this area both up the lookout and through the woods. There are lots of wild life and plenty of low key trails to check out. The lookout is a hefty amount of stairs to get up but a nice workout :) they also have public bathrooms and an elevator. I didn't get to check out the restaurants but seems like a really cool spot for a variety of people. Can't wait to visit again! read more

My kids and I took a visit down during their Fall Break and boy were we pleasantly surprised. The observation tower is really awesome. It provides great views of Blue Ash and the surrounding suburbs. My kids loved the two different play area! The playground itself is a lot of climbing. Really different then anything in the Dayton and Cincinnati area that we have visited. The nature play area with the ziplines was probably their favorite though. They have two different ziplines. One that is set higher for older kids and one that is shorter for younger kids. My kids could get on and off the shorter one with no problems. The nature play area also had a sand pit, climbing logs, and swings. There is also a fishing pond and lots of walking opportunities. There is a nice big green lawn to lounge and play at. Summit Park also features two restaurants and an ice cream shop. We packed lunch, but did stop for ice cream. It's soft serve, milkshakes, ice cream sundaes, and Dole whip! Love that they have Dole whip for this dairy-free mama! Overall it was a great day and we cannot wait to come back. To say this is our favorite area park is an understatement... this place always has a wide variety of activity's and events and offers great views of the area with its exceptional dining options, observation tower, trails, dog park, and playground/nature park equipment. That's just the things I can remember I'm sure I missed something. This park continues to grow and be developed and I look forward to enjoying it. This is hands down the best park in the Cincinnati area do yourself a favor and check it out. It's very neat how they took an old airport and made it something functional and neat for the community. Wonderful clean park. Lots of recent development, including two playgrounds, 1 or 2 picnic tables, and a bigger walking loop. There are clean restrooms on site and a nice viewing tower. There is a possibility to rent a decent size room for a private party, equipped with tv, a bar and some other conveniences. The parking is large and there are nice restaurants in the specially designed pavillon, all with outdoor seating and views on the park. There is an ongoing construction of new apartment blocks, which have a lot of retail and dining spaces for rent. I like this park a lot, great to grab a bite and a drink and enjoy the weather. read more

Parks have literally been my saving grace during this shelter in place. We visited on a Saturday afternoon for a carry out style picnic. We brought blankets along with us and camped out in the grass. It was so nice to get some fresh air and just enjoy being outside. There were a lot of people at the park, but it's a big enough park that everyone could enjoy it and still practice social distancing. I have been to Summit Park on one prior occasion for SummitFest a few years ago. It was an awesome experience that day as well. We arrived early to claim a spot close to the stage and enjoyed the various food trucks. I can't wait to return when things return to normal to climb to the top of the observation tower! read more

A clean, spacious park for people, dogs and most of all, children! Lots of open green space for live entertainment, playground area for the kids, walking paths for all to enjoy. There are also restaurants and AN ice cream shop. I think they need at least two ice cream shops. It's crowded over there! They hold food truck festivals and the like during warmer weather. I believe the Blue Ash fireworks are held here during the Independence Day holiday as well. read more

I stubbornly turned down every invitation to go to Summit Park for the past year. 25ish minutes from home just didn't sound like a fun drive for a trip to the park. Especially when I already have some great parks nearby home. Let's me tell you, it's worth the drive! Summit Park reminds me of most parks/dining areas out west. We've been to AZ several times and it's the closest thing to that sort of park. Nice dining, a huge grassy park, very modern play set. I wish the Eastside had a park like this! My kiddo LOVED the outdoor play area. I would not recommend it for kids under 4, there is a smaller kids area but how would they not be tempted to climb all over the awesome big kid stuff. We enjoyed the Warm98 Ice Rink and thought it was very affordable. Much smaller than the one at Fountain Square but they have blue push things for the little kids to stay stabilized while skating. $6/person was so fair. I cannot wait for the weather to warm up so we can enjoy Summit Park again! read more

This park is HUGE! If you live nearby, what an awesome perk! They have a large green space, where they have fitness classes during the summer. Check out the schedule online for free yoga or free CrossFit during the summer. Right now, they are running classes Sunday through Wednesday. This park also offers the extra perk of having several restaurants on campus. There is a great taco place, as well as a place to get dessert, I believe (didn't get dessert, just heard about it). Thankfully, they do have a large parking lot. They also have a parking lot behind the restaurant as well. Every time I have been there, it has been crowded. Watch the parking lots, as kids are walking and lots of cars are trying to get in and out. They also have a large observation tower that overlooks the city of Blue Ash. Behind that, there is an area for walking and even walking your pets. They have some trails through the woods, as well as an additional small parking lot near that area of the park. They have lots to do at this part of the park, as well as several options for the kids! There are a few play areas specifically for the kids, and the playgrounds are very nice. Went here in a Saturday to complete three personal tasks.1) and most importantly was to make the lovely Mrs happy as they have a weekly 'farmers market' or what I would call a vendors call out. Lots of tents with various vendors trying to sell their goods. It's kind of impressive how many are there but please don't tell the Mrs that she might consider that a reason to take me back? 2) to get the convertible out on a nice day and make a road trip out of it and 3) I used to go to 5151 Pfeiffer every day for like 7yes and I heard they turned the air plane park in to a pretty nice place. Sure enough, it was very nice. A tower that you can ride the elector or choose to climb the flights to get to a viewing stoop at the top, a large open grass area, lots of seating, a couple kids play areas that are rather impressive. There was a hot rod show that we found by wandering up to the top of the tower. Only downside is... parking. With all the vendors, all the people and the fact their are multi-unit apartments or condos that finding a parking spot became a bit of a challenge. It's part of the adventure. Will we go back? Yep, but will wait till it's a little less hot and bring some water bottles. read more

Summit Park continues to grow! Years ago, our first visit was to an innovative playground, and a large field. Since then, so much has been added to the park. A restaurant pavilion, an observation tower, rentable event rooms, additional walking/running trails, zip lines, even a pond. On our last visit, we saw someone fishing at the pond. I'm not sure if fishing is allowed, or if there are even fish. The park plays host to various events throughout the year. Some events include, but are not limited to: Independence Day celebration, food truck fair, ice skating rink and a farmer's market. Free yoga, crossfit and Zumba classes are available. (Check the park's website for more information regarding events, and exercise classes.) Blue Ash has created an outdoor space that is truly enjoyed by the community year-round. read more

No matter where we live, we're all guilty of sometimes getting stuck in our own bubbles. We know that there are cool things in other parts of town, but instead, we stick with what's close and with what we know. It was an absolute pleasure to get to wonder around Summit Park and take in all the of the truly incredible work that has been done here. It was a little chilly outside on the day I visited, but but the patio seating would be a perfect spot read a book, and people watch. What's awesome about this park is all of the great food options, too! I didn't have the chance to go up to the observation tower, but I walked around and peaked at the playground (which seems like an awesome place to take kiddos). The event lawn is huge and would be great for a large event! I can't wait to find another reason to venture back here. read more

Blue Ash Summit Park has really turned into a beautiful park over the years. I remember when it was basically just a huge muddy field..and now it's just so nice and there is so much to do there. There is an area in the center with a bunch of great restaurants. A lot of really chill seating in that area as well..from benches to patio-type furniture. There's a great ice cream parlor in the center that I'm sure absolutely kills it during the summertime. There's a humongous children's play area with all sorts of things to play on. Slides, jungle gyms, a climbing wall, hills for sliding down, rope ladders..just so many things to keep the kids occupied for hours on end. There's a huge open field in the middle of the park that's nice for almost any outdoor activity you can think of. Frisbee, football, soccer, picnicking, laying out..all these activities and more were taking place the day we were there. They actually have really cool porch-type swings on each side of the field. There are only a few so you'll either have to be there at a time when there aren't that many people around, or wait your turn. They also have a huge observation deck area where you take an elevator (or the stairs if you're insane) to the very top and you can see the entire park, as well as for miles and miles otherwise, from up really high. I'm not great with heights and I felt vertigo a bit while up there..but it was still a really gorgeous view. They did such a great job putting together Blue Ash Summit Park and it is definitely one of the nicest parks in the Cincinnati area. With so much going on there, you could easily spend a whole day there without even realizing. Very cool place overall. read more

Hats off to Blue Ash for creating an amazing atmosphere with Summit! Living nearby in Montgomery, it's only a short drive. Summit provides something for everyone. Great walking path, fun area for the kids, and swings for anyone who enjoys them. The tower is amazing and the view is breathtaking. The large green space is great for frisbee, or playing around or even a picnic lunch. However, there's some great local restaurants right in the park. Truly one of Cincinnati's gems and perfect for couples, families, and friends- all ages will love this place! read more

Really cool addition to this business saturated area of Blue Ash. If they had to close the airport, this certainly makes up for it. There are trails, porch swings, great dining, cool playground, and even an observation tower in the works. They hold some cool events including movie nights and dog events. There is a dog park, although I havent tried that out. The HUGE downside right now in my opinion is the ongoing construction. Maybe this isnt going on nights or weekends, but I have only been here on weekdays and it is a HUGE deterrent. Its noisy and very dusty. There was even some sort of pump truck parked right in the middle of the hall area between restaurants. Not what I want to see when I am escaping in between meetings for some outdoor relaxation! Nestled just north of the city sits this park. I didn't think people actually visit the park in the winter. Oh, but they do. There is a walking trail, plenty of green space, playground, water fountains, an observation tower and bench swings for adults and kids. There are some restaurants that surround the park as well as an ice cream shop. During the winter months they have ice skating and during the summer months they have a huge July 4th concert and fireworks. The trees in this park are sparse. Therefore, during a sunny day SPF 30 or greater is recommended! read more

Goodness this park is superior to most. It's the park you take your out of town parent friends so that they can envy your suburban life gig. There's a toddler playground and one for the bigger kids full of all sorts of climbing and sliding devices, a tower to climb or just visit, porch swings, a huge grassy field and apparently a new nature playscape I haven't seen yet. There are free exercise classes! Then, there are the restaurants. You can have brunch, hit up the playground, go for a walk, visit the observation tower and then get lunch and then just keep going. I haven't tested this, but rumor has it that Brown Dog Cafe even offers a picnic menu. The only drawback I can think of is that this former airport turned park gets wiiiiiiiiindy very easily. So just keep that in mind if you have lovely locks but don't enjoy windswept hair or you plan on wearing a dress and don't want a Marilyn moment. Oh, and if I was talking directly to the Summit Park decision makers, I'd request a splash pad. :) read more

Holy cow! This park is amazing!!! We've been lucky to visit on not-so-busy days, but I can see the climbing-focused equipment being problematic on high traffic days. The equipment is innovative and a very cool design. The fake grass hill is designed for sliding down on your rear-end or, as more experienced Summit Park goers showed us, bring a piece of cardboard to really sped 'er up! read more
