I started out near Mirror Lake, then hiked along the short, paved Hinkle Trail to get to the upper half of the park, my goal being the Eden Park Overlook. Passed the Conservatory, old abandoned (?) water towers, a beautiful Butterfly Garden, a couple of gazebos, and lots of other scenic spots. It's hilly but walkable throughout the park. I might suggest driving around to see what's what, but then ditching your car to get an up close and "personal" look at all you'd miss just driving quickly through. Be sure to make your way up to the Overlook, where you'll find a "natural" playground, picnic benches, Twin Lakes, and a GORGEOUS view of the river and distant Cincy skyline. A wonderful gem in the Cincy area!! DEFINITELY worth a visit, any time of year!!

It's perfect for getting together with friends, with multiple gathering areas and even rentable spaces. I've seen people taking engagement photos here, hosting weddings, and I even did my own graduation pictures here. It really is such a beautiful setting for special moments. One thing that always surprises me is how big it is. There are genuine hiking trails that wind through the woods, which is amazing for a park so close to the city. It's also great for birding, and I often see people playing frisbee, walking their dogs, or just enjoying a peaceful walk. The native plants and flowers are so well maintained, and there are so many little tucked away spots where you can sit with friends or a partner and enjoy a quiet, private moment. It's an absolutely beautiful park in a great area, and I can't recommend it enough.

This is the Mushroom House in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Cincinnati. The amount of detail is really breathtaking: circular steel steps, deck rails of wood shingles, stained glass windows, tiled ceilings... of course, I had to snap some pics. How often do we come to Cin City. The original owner/builder by the name of Terry Brown has passed away in 2008. The park boasts multiple water play features, giant swings, an interactive foot piano, an imaginative play area for kids, expansive pollinator gardens, and Carol Ann's Carousel. Several historical monuments can be found like the Black Brigade Monument and the recently dedicated Marian Spencer Statue. I was on a roadtrip and my family dropped me off in downtown Cincinnati and I gravitated to Smale Riverfront Park because I wanted a place to explore nature and see river views. I explored the scenic walkways along the Ohio, flower gardens, fountains, public art, picnic spots, and plenty of space to just chill. One of my favorite features were the riverfront swings, big, bench-style swings tucked along the water that are perfect for kicking back and enjoying the view. They're surprisingly comfortable and such a great spot to unwind and reconnect with your inner child. The park has amazing views of the Roebling Suspension Bridge and Ohio River are worth the visit on their own, the paths are wide and great for families, and there's lots to explore without feeling overcrowded. There are splash zones for kids, places to sit and picnic, and tons of photo ops.

There's plenty of parking leading up to the huge playground and lots of places to sit and watch your little ones. It was clean and looked safe with tons of different levels to explore. Beyond the jungle gym is a baseball diamond and a large amount of Greenspace to hangout. Not a lot of shade but we did find a nice spot down the hill to paint pumpkins. The grass was neatly mowed and kept up well! Bonus points for trash cans spread throughout the playground. Highly recommend! I may even bring my own kiddo if we are ever in the area!

One zone consists of two small adorable playhouses meant for young crawlers and toddlers. Right next to that is a musical instrument section, balance walk, and a huge colorful maze with textured walls. Towards the back is a play area with a turf hill and 14-foot mega tower with plenty of opportunities to slide and climb. There are tube, flat bed, and curved slides. The tower can appear intimidating but my 3.5 and 5 year old girls fearlessly climbed the ladder to access the tower and came down the tube slides without issue. Surrounding the tower are several climbing structures. One consists of faux tree logs and another resembles the back of a bear. Another major feature is the zip line. My 5 year old was super excited and went on it several times.

It looks a little unkept maybe due to winter, but I will definitely come back and check the park again by spring or summer.
