She was wanting to find a local park with a water play area where we could cool off on this hot day. On the internet this park was the only one reporting a functioning water play area. We arrived wearing our swim suits only to be very disappointed. The water play zone is the first thing that you see when you pull in and park and the water wasn't turned on! We decided to stay for a while to let the grandchildren enjoy playing outside on the large jungle jim. It has several places for climbing with curving stone like steps, a wall and a rope spider web. There is a long wide ramp making it very handicap friendly. My 18 month old granddaughter who wasn't walking yet spent a lot of time climbing up the stairs. There are several slides of various sizes and colorful interactive displays with parts that spin and turn in addition to the always fun monkey bars and swings. Off to the right of the jungle jim is a small shelter with 2 picnic tables. Today it was being used by a family having a child's birthday party. There's a shaded bench to sit on and watch the children as they run & play in the water that would be raining down from above and shooting up from below had it turned on that day. After about 20 minutes or so we decided to leave because it was so hot out and my grandson was being disagreeable. We drove to a nice air conditioned restaurant after my son-in-law arrived having driven down to Cincinnati upon getting off of work in the ER. I probably haven't been here in over 15 years. Back then, it had completely different playground equipment. This new stuff is fancy and cool! There's stuff that's great for the little ones who have just learned how to walk and for the big kids who want to climb everything. Personally, I'm also a fan of the mom and baby swing! Outside, the park is incredible. The trails are extremely well maintained, both the wooded paths and the paved ones, making it perfect for an easy walk or a hike. There's also an outdoor fitness trail that I loved. It has different workout stations along the way, and it's actually really fun, not just functional. It's a great way for both kids and adults to be active. There's also a huge playground and a mini water park area for kids, plus accessible bathrooms and good seasonal amenities. It's very family friendly without feeling overcrowded. If you're into disc golf, this place is a gem. There's a large disc golf course, and they even sell discs and gear right inside the nature center. Another thing worth mentioning is how amazing Great Parks of Hamilton County is overall. They offer so many programs like beginner fishing, guided hikes, plant swaps, art workshops, amphibian hunts, and even owl pellet dissections. Not all of these are specific to this park, but many are hosted here, and it really adds to how special the experience is. Overall, this is an extremely pleasant place to spend time. Whether you're walking the trails, working out, bringing kids to play, or just exploring the nature center, there's something for everyone.

The northern entrance is located off of Ferns. The baseball field is there. If you want a quiet park, this is a good choice. It's a neighborhood park so there isn't usually a lot of people there, just some residents playing with their kids. This park usually is safe.

I grew up right down the street from this park so I would often visit with my parents. My family were members of the swimming pool that used to be operated here but no longer exists. Now the park just looks empty, I didn't see a soul in it when I walked through the other day. There are basketball courts and several baseball courts. There is a pavilion you can walk around inside and a playground. It seems that the playground is currently closed as there was orange caution tape around the whole thing. It looked like the monkey bars had fallen down. Even with the lack of activities in the park, it still is beautiful and has great pathways for walking around on a nice day.

There were also several covered picnic areas if you're looking to host an outdoor party, and even an outdoor basketball court. The walking path was well maintained, albeit a bit hilly at times. Portions of the trail go straight through the trees, which makes you feel extremely connected to all of the nature surrounding you. There was plenty of parking available - and on a Sunday morning around 11, there weren't many people walking. We only ran into two other groups the entire time we were on the trail, which is always a welcome relief when you've got a very friendly dog with you. From afar, the playgrounds didn't seem that busy either, although this may have been due to the cloudy weather. I think we'll definitely work Pride Park into our weekend walking rotation.
