Nice park, beautiful pavilion and trees, also has overlook to the lunken airport where u can see the private jet take off and landing. Parking is not allowed on the right side of road when you drive in, but obviously it's ok on the left side. But we do found their parking lot near the lower area with reserved area, it's a beautiful park and good venue for wedding and family gathering.

Gorgeous park, with several overlooks and plenty to do! The overlook with the pergola provides a beautiful view of the river, while another overlook looks down towards the Cincinnati Lunken Airport. A really nice pavilion is available, with a second story that gives you a good view around the park itself. At the time of our visit, it looks like it had recently hosted an event as there was still a tent set up out back. It looked like a great space for a celebration. The playground near the pavilion is fantastic. There were a lot of neat features that we hadn't seen before, like a swing set up that let the kids work together to get it spinning, with room for 3 riders. They also offer traditional style swings and baby swings. There's a great rock climbing structure, plus additional climbing options, and a very neat stone slide. The kids really loved this space! Benches and picnic tables are also available around the park. This is well worth a visit, whether you're looking to picnic, play, or get a great view!

This park is always clean, not overly crowded and refreshing! A hidden gem if you're into watching the planes come and go at Lunken. There's a decent sized overlook, not a wonderful immediate view but very calming to watch the planes depart and arrive on a sunny day. We actually chose to have our family wedding photos done here at the large pergola. There's some gorgeous trees, a large rock even space and a newly updated playground. The play area is now targeted towards 5 years+. My almost 4yo was barely big enough to play here, which is a huge bummer. There's really nothing to offer little, little kids besides the swings and tunnel. I hope they plan on expanding something for the littles to climb on. Although it's never overly crowded, it's still large enough to accompany several. My last visit was full of kiddos on the playground, adults lounging with their dogs and teens hanging hammocks in the tall trees. Easily an underrated park in Cincinnati.

Alms Park is one of the most gorgeous locations in Cincy, and it is so under-rated! Alms is located right outside of Mt. Lookout and it is on top of a large hill, giving it one of the prettiest views in the city. Alms is smaller than some of the more well-known parks in the area, like Ault Park, but has some really great features. Alms has a playground that was recently renovated to be a fun adventure for kids of all ages. Alms also has a large, stone slide that used to be so fun for me when I was a kid! Right next to the playground is the pavilion, which is beautiful for pictures and public events! Alms does have a trail, but it is much shorter than other parks in the area. Alms does, however, have some of the most beautiful gardens and trees!

View from car. Have to park inside a circular road.

Nice place good view of the Cincinnati airport. This was out 2nd stop on our what I call drive threw date night. We are looking to stop at places with a nice view while we safely eat in the car. Parking does not really give a great view, you are on a circular parking angle. If you venture out there are some really nice quiet views. So do go be safe and enjoy.

Alms park can be difficult to find because it's in a residential area, but take the trouble, because it's worth finding! Believe it or not, the best way to get here is to follow the signs you'll see on US-50 ;-) When you arrive you'll be rewarded with some beautiful views; one of the best of which is the view of Lunken airport and the valley that surrounds it that you'll get from the stone benches situated along the hillside. Another beautiful view is of the Ohio river as seen from the pergola. Over and above the beautiful views, there's a pavilion and a playground here; there's also a hiking trail that cuts across the hillside. Please note that the trail isn't always well maintained, and take appropriate precautions.

I am in love with Alms Park. There is beauty no matter where you look. Trees that have grown so tall and have seen so much. They have a way of making one feel so small, yet at peace. There is so much shade at Alms park. One could easily spend a lazy afternoon basking in the splendor of this park. All this shade is perfect for the playground. One can enjoy the structures and activities without the sun constantly beating down on them. Structures have recently been upgraded. The old concrete slide is still a little ways away. Even my eldest couldn't resist playing here. We were the only ones when we got there. Soon the playground became increasingly crowded. That was our cue to go watch the planes taking off at Lunken Airport from one of the scenic overviews. Alms Park has various shelters that may be rented/reserved. If looking for a location for a wedding, look no further than the Alms Park Pavilion. This two-tiered structure makes one feel like they are at a Tuscan Villa. Setting up for a wedding upstairs, and a reception below would be beautiful. There is even a bar/ service area on the bottom floor. A pergola with benches, and views of the river is a short distance away. This location would also be ideal for pictures. Hiking is another option at the park. The mysterious Catawba Trail snakes from one of the the Lunken Airport overlooks to the overlook near the pavilion. Catawba (named for the Catawba wine once produced on the property) is mysterious for several reasons. The trail is both defined yet overgrown. My youngest thought we were on an adventure in a jungle. Exposed roots lie like snakes ready to trip their next victim. The way the old concrete and wooden steps poke out from the growth almost makes one feel as if they about to discover a lost city. A man made shelter for one lurks among the trees. Plants that grow along the trail are not what one commonly sees on a Cincinnati trail. Vine hang from trees like streamers at a party. Large leaved plants rise up from the floor. There is little information on the trail. Even the Cincinnati Parks website only says "trails." Not even trail names are given. The marker at the head of the trail, and an old blog post mentioning the trail being under a mile is all I could find. We enjoyed the adventure of hiking the trail. Alms Park is may be my new favorite of the official Cincinnati Parks parks.

Alms park is quite a beautiful park. The views you get of the surrounding areas and the airport are amazing. Definitely a relaxing and soothing atmosphere here. There are also a lot of great things for kids to do here as well. Between the slides and jungle jims and trails scattered throughout..it is for sure an inexpensive way to keep a group of kids entertained in Cincinnati. I'm not really a "nature" person..so I'm just going to leave the review at that. If the park impressed me it might bowl you over if this is actually your sort of thing..ha.

Alms Park often gets lost in the shadow of it's big brother Ault Park, but honestly, I think I like this park better. Here's why: - It overlooks the Lunken airport so you can watch the planes land and take off. Really neat to have almost an aerial view of that. - This is one of only three parks in Cincinnati that allow you to rent to the picnic shelter and bring in food and alcohol for an event. - They have a pavilion that you can rent that is beautiful for weddings and is actually very affordable. Why do people spend tens of thousands of dollars on venues? This park is prettier and way cheaper than many wedding venues I have seen. - It's more intimate. Ault Park often has screaming kids and people driving 60 miles an hour through there. I find it really distracting. If you are like me and go to the park to escape all the craziness. This is one that you will really enjoy, especially in the Spring!

Very cool park to watch plans take off from Lunken, walk around, have your kids play, or have a picnic. It's a little out of the way compared to Eden and Ault, but the views of the airport and river are wonderful, although you can't quite see downtown as it's just around the river bend. The pavilion is nice and the layout has a good flow to it.

Love this venue for wedding receptions and ceremonies (or engagement sessions)! I am a local wedding photographer, so I am at more venues than most. I have shot weddings, receptions, engagement sessions and family portraits at Alms Park. The photos from these events or sessions are always gorgeous! Alms Park has a lot to offer - so many perfect places for photos. The overlook by the river is one of the best places for a sunset photo in Cincinnati! And the upper floor of the pavilion building makes a great spot for a smaller wedding ceremony. I like that I can go to the second floor and shoot down on receptions, too - great for some creative shots with the fish eye. Just tons of options here! Another plus is Mt. Adams and Eden Park are nearby. For one wedding, we were able to schedule enough time before the ceremony to do photos in both Mt. Adams and Eden Park - we had a blast! We got some really awesome photos and had a lot of fun doing them. And we still made it back to the ceremony in time. It was nice to have photos done in several locations, so the couple had a lot of variety. With Alms Park, you have to use one of their caterers - I think most of my couples have used Chef's Choice. The food is good, and the service is always excellent! In summary - I would definitely recommend Alms Park to couples looking for a wedding venue in a great location with some gorgeous outdoor options and lots of pluses. It has to be one of my favorite venues! It has a lot to offer!

"The Frederick H. Alms Memorial Park lies on Mt. Tusculum with its magnificent vantage point overlooking the broad Ohio River, a point originally called 'Bald' Hill because the Indians had cleared the trees from its summit to have an unobstructed view of the early settlers..." The views here of the Ohio River and of Lunken airfield are wondrous. The trees are back. The park is not easy to find, and explains why it never seems busy. The 1930s PWA pavillion has been refurbished and is much to admire. Opposite it is a short walk to the fairly new giant pergola drawing you to a superb view of the Ohio. At the bend opposite the play area stop to see the view overlooking Lunken Airfield, which was the city's main airport until CVG in Kentucky replaced it.

This place was amazing to just come and take some pictures on our last night of vacation. Plus my son had a ton of fun running around.

A wonderful location to view the bustling activity along The Ohio River Trail, and a place to gather and celebrate as a community. Several historical monuments can be found like the Black Brigade Monument and the recently dedicated Marian Spencer Statue. I was on a roadtrip and my family dropped me off in downtown Cincinnati and I gravitated to Smale Riverfront Park because I wanted a place to explore nature and see river views. I explored the scenic walkways along the Ohio, flower gardens, fountains, public art, picnic spots, and plenty of space to just chill. One of my favorite features were the riverfront swings, big, bench-style swings tucked along the water that are perfect for kicking back and enjoying the view.
