Even on a crowded day there would be enough covered areas for everyone visiting. A nice touch is the covered picnic tables right near the play structures. This is particularly welcomed when visiting with young kids. Several play structures for different ages. There are also swings, a soccer field, hiking trail, and basketball court. The basketball court area is on an island surrounded by parking. Bathrooms were surprisingly clean. Bathrooms at parks aren't usually this clean. The park itself is really clean. All in all, this is a pleasant community park.

While it's a pretty simple park, I would definitely come back here for a walk or picnic. When I'm into Pokemon go, I drive around in circles spinning poke-stops and doing gym battles. That is when I would go most often. There are nice trails to walk. For the kiddos, there are multiple playgrounds, a basketball card, baseball fields, and shelters you can rent for parties. The best part of this park though is the creek. We have fun in the creek when it's warm. My kids love catching crawdads when it's warm out. I loved it as a kid too. I still have fun, especially watching them and how happy they are. Pictures will always be great memories. The only bad thing about this park, is that they took out the dog park! The dog park was so nice. There was a section for small dogs, and a section for large dogs. My dog had fun and so did I. I loved getting to play with everyone else's dogs. It was also great that it was so close to the Kenton county animal shelter. I hope they bring it back someday.

There is creek running through several area through the trail, but the time we were here in Autumn, it's mostly dry. We didn't finished the whole trail, will definitely come again to try the trail from the other side.

There is at least one walking trail ( that was all I saw anyway.) that winds around a nice little pond. It's a little over a quarter of a mile for one lap. Fishing is also permitted although I didn't see the rules so I'm not sure how that works. All in all a dandy little place that I will revisit in warmer seasons. Thumbs up for what I saw though.

This is such a shame because I remember it being such a great park for toddlers and school aged kids alike when my oldest kids were little. There used to be a ton of big shade trees, which made it a great spot for picnic or relaxing while the kids played. Now there is Astroturf under the play area, and it gets really hot in the summertime. We used to come weekly. Now maybe once or twice per year with my youngest (a toddler). Such a loss.

There are two shelter areas that are in good shape and restroom structures which is always nice over a port-o-let. The playground looks fun, but since I don't have kids, I will leave that to someone else. There are ballfields and large open spaces of grass. The trail that wanders in the woods has good traction, is wide and well maintained. It has some seriously steep inclines and hills but isn't overwhelming. It's not super long, but good for a walk with the dog or a family looking for some outdoors. There is a gorgeous creek bed that runs thru the area giving a nature photographer plenty to shoot. The disc golf course is nationally recognized and is well maintained as well. There are 24 holes to play. Many of the holes are long and challenging with ravines and trees and narrow fairways. This is a course for the skilled and novice alike. I would say the novice should stay on the front 9 but there are plenty of holes after 16 or so that are playable for the novice as well. Overall, this is a versatile and well maintained park that I encourage anyone to visit at least once.

I have to preface my review: you have to live in The COV to enjoy this, or have a friend who has a…read moreguest pass. This has become a favorite for our young children in our home-city of COV. The first couple years we lived here, we had no idea this existed - it's tucked in the heart of the Bill Cappel Youth Sports Complex. (Website, here: http://www.covingtonky.gov/visitors/parks/bill-cappel-youth-sports-complex) The "zero depth" is a great feature for kids who haven't learned to swim yet, and this place is usually filled with kids. There are limited "tanning chairs" available for adults...seems like adding a few more of those would be nice. Make sure you get your pass before you come! You can get them on opening week (Memorial Day) and then afterwards at the city building. In past years, there has been some shut downs of the park due to piping and breakage...you'll notice that the water will turn off every 20 minutes for about 5 seconds...I think this is an effort to release pressure from the pipes and reduce breaking. Lots of fun, we'll be at the spray park a lot this summer!
