Once inside, you will be able to rent/buy any equipment that will get you (safely) up the walls. It had been a long time since I climbed so I did take the quick belay course $6 and was climbing up the wall in no time. If you just want to climb on the shorter walls (called bouldering) you will not need to have a harness or take the class. You will need to buy a day pass $10 or some other membership. Shoe rental is $4 and I skipped that as I did it in a pair of vibram five fingers shoes. The only other cost for rope climbing is for a harness ($4). So, for either $20 or 24 you can find yourself climbing up one of the various walls, each with its own unique challenge. Some of the walls are really difficult and some are just difficult enough that you will feel really proud of yourself if you can reach the top. And pay no attention to those around you that scale the walls like spiders, they were just like you once. The vibe is really chill and people are friendly and able to offer advice if you need it. I recommend taking breaks every once in a while so that your arms can rest and watch other climbers. My best tip is to use your legs, they are much stronger than your arms and will really get you up the wall. Climbing is very challenging and I really find it both frustrating and rewarding. You will have fun (go with some friends: they do have group rates) and get a workout too!

The staff is super friendly and patient, always ready to give tips or belay you if you need it. The routes are well-set, varied, and they change them regularly so it never gets boring. Whether you're just starting out or you've been climbing for years, there's something here for everyone.

They're very knowledgeable about what they do and are more than willing to impart their wisdom onto you! The facilities are well kept and offer nice hygiene items in the bathrooms such as hair ties and nail files. I'm thankful they got a new water fountain because they've had several issues with it the past month. Only issue with facilities that is ongoing is that in the men's bathroom, there is an odor around the sink that smells like a bad P-pipe. As for the actual climbing, I have to say that it is perfect. I'm not much of a boulder guy anymore but those are very well set. In regards to the top ropes, they are well done and challenging whilst maintaining their entertainment value. I've only been to three places for rock climbing, but I think RQ beats the others to a pulp! Phenomenal work RQ staff!

I had to adjust my daughters rock wall harness (I climb) properly. Parents were disconnecting their children from the belaying system. Really?! No employee questioned this. EVERYTHING was dirty and/or stained. They have a 'cafe' but I'd not eat anything prepared in this place. If wiping down a surface with disinfectant is too difficult, food prep is rocket science. Not risking getting sick over an overpriced sandwich. This place requires some money to clean it up and get employees who are concerned with customer service. The kids loved it, of course, but they also like playing in mud puddles, so...¯\_(ツ)_/¯

They had been open for two hours, on a weekday when we arrived. No one was playing when we got there. That trash was clearly there from the day before. Broken locks on bathroom stalls. The employee who told our group the rules, said "don't climb on the green parts, and no back flips. Go crazy." Another parent began asking about other rules. The kid in charge then said "ya, that too." Pizza crust has the texture of Hot Pockets. I overheard a kid saying "it tastes like school pizza." Though I think that may be true for most play places. Grip socks are now required. Yes, this place is fun for kids. Fun factor is still four stars. The facilities themselves are far from their former glory.

We learned all the safety and got strapped up with equipment. Very beginner friendly. But it's scary. There's a variety of courses, a couple beginner ones. They are very tall. The straps feel safe as well, for a split second as you're climbing, the slack needs to catch up, so you feel like nothing is holding you up. Phew. Don't look down lol but the decent from any point is safe with the cables. Trusting them is half the battle but once you're at the top you don't have much choice, that didn't stop me from pulling on the harness after every step lol. Multiple courses, one room with the harness and one without for free climbing, even though the free climbing is only like 10 ft tall (also I think it's called bouldering) it was still fun to try to strategically climb them without cheating. The climb to the top was rewarding on the big harness climbs. Your forearms will be worn out tho! Shout out the staff for being friendly and supportive.
