I'm pretty disappointed. We were debating trying this room for 2 months. I thought we could've been greeted more quickly upon arrival but honestly that doesn't bother me. Two things that bother me. 1. There was a key clue that should've been given when a switch was flipped. It didn't happen. We spent large chunk of our time trying to figure out how to figure something out that should've been part of a clue we weren't given. To be clear, we flipped the switch. It feels like our game manager wasn't paying attention. 2. There was not a timer prevalent. It needs to be clear where that is located. We would've probably used a hint or two sooner had we known our time. Or at least be told "you have 30 minutes" etc. Werent informed of our time until 60 seconds remained. These a pretty vital things to enjoying an escape room. We were pretty excited and it was just a subpar experience comparably UPDATE: they did reach out and own the mistake and offer us a credit for the amount we paid to come back and try again. This was awesome! Looking for a thing to do with friends on my birthday and my Google searching led me here. Parking is a little tight because it's a tight shopping center area but it is there if you walk a little bit. Breakout Games is on the second floor and plenty of space to hang out outside until your group gets there. Little tight in the lobby though. We had a great time doing the runaway train escape room. They put a lot of work into it and we got out in about 45 minutes. There was eight people but luckily we worked well together. Definitely not a too many cooks in the kitchen scenario haha. We did have to ask Connor for hints every now and then but he helped us and did a great job. Overall we had a great time and definitely would return for more escape rooms! read more

The escape room gameplay was very much a team building activity and fun challenging puzzle! We completed the Bomb Squad room today with Evan as our game master who was very helpful even when we almost broke part of the puzzle. They were ready for my team as we came in and smoothly started after we arrived as my team had to do two different escape rooms. The escape rooms are challenging but not unbeatable. They have about 6 different themes, those including Submarine Survival and a Kidnapping theme. I would definitely say that my team preferred to have smaller groups in the games due to having everyone involved where too many people can lead to standing around sometimes. I've always wanted to do an escape room! My boss mentioned this as an engagement outing and I was all for it. The pricing is reasonable. $25.00 a person. You can have up to 8 people Max per room. They have 5 rooms you can choose from and you can book ahead. Our team chose The bomb room and The Kidnapping. Before you do the games, you must sign a waiver. You have a time limit... one hour to get out. We had 7 in our team. Jake was a guide and he was awesome! He gave us some tips on the intercom if necessary and was fun to work with. This was not an easy task. You really had to think outside of the box. This was definitely a team effort to get out. You had to solve riddles and had mathematical skills. You are not allowed to use the phones for photographing or filming, but you are able to use it for lighting and calculations. We got out in the nick of time. We were down to almost a minute. So excited and happy for our team! Victory! I would do this again! It was so much fun! read more

If you're looking for a fun group activity to do , this is it! Went here with a group of 15 and we split to do two rooms. The room I did was Mystery Mansion and we had a great time trying to figure out all the clues. Even though we had a bigger group, we all contributed in different ways to getting through the breakout. Our game master Lesly was awesome, seems like this place has a great staff. Very nice, helpful, and easy to converse with. You have one hour to breakout and all the records for fastest breakouts are ~35-45 minutes, so you're guaranteed a solid hour of entertainment. read more

The clues were tricky at times, but you are allowed to ask for some hints. We were able to break out with five minutes to spare (you get an hour to break out). I cannot tell a lie, this place is super funsies. This was my second outing to this location and Valerie, our game master...hostess...evil genius....she gave us a great time! On visit one, about a year and a half ago, we experienced Island Escape and that was incredible! I couldn't believe the production quality, difficulty of the puzzles, and all the awesome twists, turns, and figure it outs. This time around, we were in the same room but they revamped it into Runaway Train. This was still a top notch experience, but I had a little more fun with the first one. Let me explain without giving spoilers. First, pick your cohorts carefully. If you have that one friend who is super competitive and doesn't play well with others, maaaaaybe leave him at home. This is an ensemble activity and the room is waaaay too small for that kind of ego. Also...it's a game...it's meant to be fun...for everyone, Charlie. There are 8 total spots for the room, and I have done it with 7 people both times-that is a good number and significantly lowers the risk of ending up trying to break out of the room with strangers. Unless you like meeting new people that way-no judgement here*. Plus, you get an hour to escape the room, so it is a great physical outing with friends with a hard end time to then be lazy and get your drink on after...you can invite "that friend" to the drinking part....right Charlie**? There is no way to know this from the scenarios, but I prefer the break out rooms that have many puzzles to solve rather than a more linear solve this puzzle, get this clue, then you can move on to the next puzzle. The linear way creates a bit of hurry up and wait situations because only one-three people can work on a puzzle at once. Whereas, if there are multiple puzzles to figure out at once, then the group has more divide and conquer opportunities.If you recall the incredible game show from way back (1990s) when, Finders Keepers, it reminds me of that. You know you are looking for things, but at the start, you aren't entirely sure what, so everyone just moves about the room investigating. If you do get stuck, you get 3 clues for free and any above that eat away at your time. For this go around, we needed to use 2 of our clues, and Valerie was terrific about leading us to the answer, not just blurting it out. I cannot stress enough how high the production value is-videos, ambiance music, hidden compartments, levers that open doors on the opposite side of the room, 3d puzzles. It really is quite fun and we will definitely be back. I highly recommend going during the weekday if you can-there is a 10% discount (on top of the generous 27 dollar fee-so reasonable!) and there are fewer groups to contend with. *I had so much fun that I would totally be that person who joins your group to meet other people. Celebrated my birthday with Breakout and in a reoccurring theme, had a blast! This was my third time at Breakout. Tried Runaway Train and escaped just in the nick of time! This is a fun new room, though I loved the Island Escape room that it replaced. Runaway Train was definitely a more linear experience than the previous and might have actually been easier with less people. We had seven, and it is pretty challenging for seven people to try and solve the same problem at once. I've also attempt the Kidnapped room with strangers and failed to enter the escape code as time ran out. DISAPPOINTED!!! The hosts are always friendly and engaged enough to give hints or re-rail the train if you're a little too far off the track. read more

Had a fun adult birthday party at this location today. We divided into two groups and got to complete the Alleyway Vigilantes. The room was beautifully designed and felt like an authentic dirty alleyway. We enjoyed the interactive nature of the room and the three demential design. The level of difficulty was great and was challenging but achievable. The only downside was our guide offered more clues than we wanted and interjected several times without prompting. My only complaint is when I tried to call on short notice I was told I had to book online 3 hours ahead of time, and no walk ins or phone appointments were possible. If you've ever done an Escape Room, you'll quickly find that Breakout feels a bit like an "out of the box" escape room. They create an escape room that works at one location, then turn it into a kit that they can replicate at all of their locations. Breakout doesn't have the most creative rooms, but they do have this kind of business down to a science. The themes are generally well thought out and consistent, and they each usually have a surprise or two thrown in. I've found that Breakout's rooms tend to be a little smaller than a lot of other places. I love escape rooms with multiple rooms/areas to discover. Most of the rooms here are one-room experiences. Overall, Breakout isn't my favorite escape room, but they seem to be constantly adding new rooms, which is great for folks like me who like to regularly hit these up! read more

What a fun activity for team building or family bonding! I came here with a group of 12 from my office, so we split into 2 groups of six. Without sharing too much, essentially you are locked into a room and the goal is to "breakout" of the room in less than 60 minutes using the clues within the room. Each room has a theme, I think there are 6 total. We did the kidnapping room (the other group did the museum). One girl did some research prior to coming so we knew we had a little bit of a freaky/scary room. But not bad at all. Overall, it was a fun challenge that I cannot wait to do again! read more

The room encouraged collaboration and team work to ensure we broke out with enough time on the clock. You had 60 minutes to ensure that you freed from the "kidnappers" room. Our entire group was impressed with the story and the challenges. It's only fun if it's not spoiled, so no details about the Casino Royale room we worked through. I *almost* gave Breakout games a 4-star because I'm sort of holding a grudge against them for setting up our game wrong, thus not allowing us to breakout of the room... BUT I will give them the benefit of the doubt because we had a SUCH a great time! I had been dying to try out one of these escape room type places and it was the PERFECT quadruple date activity for a chilly winter Friday night. On account of our obsession with Clue, we decided to channel our inner Miss Peacock on the Mystery Mansion. We weren't entirely sure what we were in for, but our game master Maddie was super fun and even gave us a few hints even when we didn't ask for one of our three "allowed" hints. Even though it was a little pricier than we would've preferred (around $28 per person), it beat our typical winter night cooped up in the house or at a bar.
