This is our third time at this location and we will be back. The Playground, The Heist, and now Gold Rush were all grand. Gold Rush is more of a linear puzzle finder-solve this and it leads you to the next thing. Both Playground and Heist are designed for the feral teams who all want to grab and solve as the spirit moves. I like feral play, but linear still has some surprises and delights. The production value is always high and the people behind the scenes are so very nice. The only weird step is that post game our runners have all been pretty aggressive with the "please give me a glowing review, scan my qr code on my badge, we are in a competition for best escape game right now" speech. I don't know if they get an extra tip or what, but it has happened enough times now that I think it is part of their training. It doesn't ruin the event or anything, it just kinda comes out of nowhere since you haven't actually spent much time face to face with this person. This was such a fun experience that not only got us moving but also made us think for a few hours! our group started with doing the highest and we were able to escape with about 15 minutes left and when we were about to leave and go out the front door the manager stopped us and asked if we wanted to do another one at a discounted rate. We said yes and took time to walk next-door and get some food and then came back and did the playground which was a lot harder than expected but we got out of there with about six minutes left. The staff was super friendly and helpful and joked around with us since it was two couples and there was a little bit of arguing over certain aspects! My colleagues and I completed The Heist at The Escape Game. Some were skeptical, hadn't enjoyed prior experiences, or were brand new to escape room games. But our game masters welcomed us and started the game before anyone could change their minds! We played The Heist, which is a fun recovery mission for a stole work of art. This game was rated an 8 out of 10 in difficulty. Our group used 4 hints, I think, and completed the room with 13 minutes to spare. There were many puzzles to solve in this room. Some of them were obvious, some hidden. Some were mental, others required more physicality. It was a nice mix of puzzle types, so the game never felt stagnant or predictable. (That's all I think I can write without giving anything away!) Our game master was nice and debriefed us afterward, sharing what she observed of our group and how we worked together. It was fun to hear what she saw and compare it with what we had just experienced. My only critique is that we had 9 players, which was a few too many for the physical space in the escape room. I am glad they accommodate our group but wish they would have split us into two groups or recommended a larger room. Lastly, I've done a number of escape rooms before at different places with different companies. Some of them are quite poor quality; items in the rooms look old, over-used, or dirty. This was NOT the case at The Escape Game. The room felt clean and mostly new and of nice quality. That gets a big thumbs up from me! We never did an escape the room type thing before, and so we were hesitant that it was going to be too hard. We did the Heist and loved it so much we came back the next night and did Jail break. Everything from the sets, to the music, to the cleverness of the game design was thoughtful and lots of fun. My family and I came here while on vacation in the area and we all had a great time!! We ended up doing two escape rooms and if they had openings we probably would have done them all! We just couldn't stop! We escaped with 11 minutes to spare in Special Ops and then with 6 minutes to spare in the Prison Escape! Both were challenging and very fun! I heard the game master really enjoyed seeing how we solved both rooms! I believe we only used 2 hints in each room which is CRAZY! The family before us used over 50! We aren't special, its just that we all complement each other really well in our knowledge bases and we actually have pretty great teamwork and communication! That is KEY! We also LOVE escape rooms! So while this was our first time in THIS escape room, it is not our first rodeo! Now my son wants to plan vacations to cities with this particular company so we can earn all their pins! The Escape Game is the bees knees. I have completed two of the rooms (and CANNOT WAIT to come back for more!). I have done A LOT of escape rooms and am a firm believer that even a bad escape room is better than no escape room at all. The Escape Game is among the best I have ever done (Definitely top 3, maybe even the best, I'm not sure). Each room is filled with so many nice touches and it's evident that TEG doesn't miss the little details. Both times, I've truly felt transported somewhere else and the multi-room experience really keeps you on your toes and makes you feel like you're constantly discovering something. The clues are difficult, but logical. If you're looking for something different to do with your afternoon- go visit The Escape Game. The prices may seem a little high for an hour's worth of entertainment.....but both times I've been they leave me wanting more. I'll be back soon to try out the other rooms! read more

HANDS DOWN THE BEST! I have been to several escape rooms over the years. Some are okay, however this place is definitely the best. You can tell that they have invested a lot of money in this place, and did it right! Each room has hidden surprises everywhere, which leads you to think you have "escaped". However, they have done a great job making the adventure last and the challenge continue. It's challenges you and your peers to think outside the box and collaborate together to escape in time. I was shocked when I noticed today that I had not yet reviewed The Escape Game yet on Yelp! This is hands-down THE BEST escape room anywhere near Cincinnati. The games themselves are complete adventures with elegantly designed puzzles and multiple rooms (connected in often surprising ways!) I have been here a ton of times and completed every room (except the most recent addition.) Honestly, I recommended ALL of them. Each one was thrilling, and unique, nothing blasé whatsoever for even a seasoned escape room participant. This was our first escape room. Had a lot of fun. Got married up with two other people so we had a really good group. The puzzles were fun only needed to use two of the three clues, escaped in 50 minutes. You really need a group of 4 or more to accomplish the multiple puzzles The staff was fun and very helpfull, I made a mistake in booking on line noticed it in the email and called to see if they could change the time which they did in less then 3 minutes very friendly while doing it. It's not a room, its an adventure!! This place is FANTASTIC! This is the second The Escape Game location I have visited. I played at their headquarters in Nashville and it was so good I had to check out this new location! This weekend I played two games...I almost escaped from the art gallery heist and I ESCAPED from the gold rush. These games are so addicting. The gold rush was less complex than the art heist. The prison break room is the most difficult and needless to say I did not escape it (played it in Nashville). The staff are very friendly and you have your personal game assistant watching you play who will give you clues and I suggest using them because just when you think you solved the puzzle, something else will happen, keeping you enthralled, so don't be timid to use clues! The rooms are so immersive and realistic, I can't say enough about this aspect. And they are not cheesy and basic, it's like you stepped into another world and you are leading the show. One thing- I have never had a group experience with strangers. I can not speak from experience, but I think it would be extremely difficult to play this game with strangers and I have heard this to be true. For example, if you join a group and they have played that room before, they may solve the room too quickly making you feel like you didn't get your money worth etc. But playing with your own group is so much fun! read more

All of the games are completely immersive, made with intricate sets, unique puzzles, and surprises at every turn. Never a dull moment, that's for sure! The staff are also absolutely unparalleled. They are helpful without giving too much away, and you can really tell they love what they do and want you to have as much fun as possible. Also, make sure to follow them on social media because they are constantly posting monthly puzzle challenges and other fun stuff to keep their followers engaged. Eight of us did "The Heist" and we Almost Escaped - we literally had the last puzzle figured out as the time ran out! Oh well...it was still totally amazing and fun. It was a lot more exciting than I had imagined - with the time clock ticking away and so many clues to figure out - it was non-stop action! The puzzles were so well thought out and difficult enough to feel like we accomplished something when we finally solved them. The props and decor was so perfect - it felt like we were on a movie set. We all had a great time and then went down the street to Condado Taco for dinner and then the SkyWheel. Wonderful evening and we will be back soon. read more

I participated in the "Special Ops" mission today for my little brother's birthday. I was skeptical because I'd done escape rooms before and thought they were kind of a bland fad. The adventure blew my mind, however, with its intricate design and thrilling plot details. The location also can't be beat in the heart of Cincinnati overlooking the Ferris wheel and suspension bridge. It's a great place to go to for a birthday as well as my brother got ice cream, a shirt and a card signed by the super kind staff. I'm excited to try another game in the future! read more
