This is my experience in Little Toes; I think the experience for older kids is pretty different. Our first session was on Sunday mornings alternating 9 am and 10 am. There were only about 7 kids playing at once, so it wasn't too bad when a few of them weren't listening, etc. We liked that our son was playing with new kids and learning team work, and enjoyed it enough to sign up a second time. This session, we did Saturday mornings at 9 am and they had way too many kids. I'd estimate there were at least 15 kids (maybe more) when everyone was there and it was just way too many. While everyone seems very nice, some of the coaches just aren't as loud and can't wrangle the kids as well. Coach Ben had a great rapport with the kids and seemed to get them into the activity better. One thing that is frustrating with this age group is the amount of parents who go on the field and don't let the Happy Feet coaches do their job. They follow their kids around or just stand on the wall, get in the way to take photos from the field, and so on. We get an email each week from Happy Feet asking the parents to stay off the field unless their kid really needs them, but it is ignored by some. I counted seven parents on the field today and it becomes a safety issue at that point with everyone going in different directions. Now that our son is older, I think we'll try some other programs, but we were glad to have had the experience and glad Happy Feet gets started with such young toddlers.

Instead, she took almost an hour out of her day to ensure my daughter received the perfect cleats for her feet. The level of passion that she has for her job and for helping players find the exact tools they need reminded me of going shopping for camping gear with my dad as a kid, and the kind gentlemen that would gladly and enthusiastically talk to you for hours about every item on the shelf (and a few more that aren't). My dad used to take me there as a kid in the 90's, and I will gladly continue to drive past the big box store to get to Soccer Village precisely because you will never find this level of care and product knowledge anywhere else. They have 4-5 coaches on the field but only seem to notice that the kids don't know what's going on. Only tell one or two kids what to do then letting the other kids struggle. Maybe for adults it's more organized, but it's definitely not a place for kids. Between the adults drinking a ridiculous amount of alcohol in a little amount of time then proceeding to drive home with their kids. They pick and choose what people can have "extra" people in there even though it is supposed to be a limit of 1 person per player.

Such a fun surprise of a neighborhood park!…read more This park has a large three-section play set, a basketball court, sand volleyball court, and a full picnic area with seating and grills, so it's really easy to spend a long afternoon here. There's even a disc golf course and a cute bridge that makes it feel extra scenic. The paved trail is pretty hilly, which honestly made for a great workout walk, and it's also good for bikes if you don't mind a few climbs. The absolute highlight for me was the access to the beautiful creek running through the park. There are also nice little habitat areas that would be great for bird watching. Public bathrooms are available, though they weren't the cleanest when I visited. There was some trash around, but there are plenty of trash cans, so hopefully that improves with use. It's surrounded by townhouses but open to the public and feels welcoming. Overall a great local park for families, walks, casual sports, or just relaxing by the creek.

Near the front of the park is a flag and monument with a replica of the Liberty Bell. The trail is a 0.4 mile "Jogging Trail." The path is wide, and covered in gravel. The width allows it to accommodate walkers and runners. The trail also doubles (or is it triples?) as a StoryWalk location, and a parcours trail. Pages from a children's book are posted along the trail; 19 pages were poated in all. Our first lap consisted of a leisurely stroll to reading the book. Subsequent laps had us picking up the pace. All of the parcours equipment looks to be well maintained. Playground has a little bit for every. (Under 12 that is.) This is both in age and ability. The playground includes a handicap swing, wheelchair ramp for the climbing structure, and a raised sand table that can accommodate wheelchairs. There is a playhouse and climbing fake logs with a woodland feel. We arrived at the park early, and had the playground to ourselves until about 10:30am. Along with the trail and playground, the park also boasts soccer fields, a baseball field, basketball court, picnic shelters with bbq and a fire pit. The fire pit may only be used by appointment only. As long as it is deemed safe weather, the Anderson Township park system will try and leave a bathroom unlocked.

If you're looking for a quiet place to read or take the kiddos, I recommend any week day morning. The walking trail/path is always clean and clear of debris. It is a quarter mile loop. The playground is one of the best. This tops Ault and Beech Acres and has better aspects than Juliffs. I love bringing my little here! There's a very large shelter by the playground, perfect for parties. It's huge! There's also a couple baseball diamonds so this park must get busy at some point! The only downfall is the name. I think often times it gets confused for the big helicopter park named Veterans Park. This is totally different, in the heart of Anderson. I recommend this park for a quiet getaway!

If your grew up in the Blue Ash, Montgomery, or Symmes Township areas and played baseball and/or…read moresoccer, chances are you've been in contact with the Blue Ash Sports Center off of Grooms Road. Better known sometimes as simply "Grooms," the Sports Center has 11 baseball fields, two soccer fields, and replicas of Crosley Field and the Riverfront Stadium field, all on 37-acres right in Blue Ash. I played and watched my older siblings play at Grooms for many years of baseball and soccer, but I also have gone their for the annual Fourth of July bash: Red, White, and Blue Ash. Red, White, and Blue Ash is basically an all-day event, this year running from 2:00-10:35. There is always a lot of fun, which includes free concerts (this year headlined by the Charlie Daniels Band) and topped off by the best fireworks show in the area, put on by Rozzi's Famous Fireworks. "Grooms" gets swamped on July 4th each year, as it is the biggest event at the complex, but its neatest feature is the re-creattions of Crosley Field and the Riverfront Stadium field. Crosley Field closed in 1970, but according to the Blue Ash Sports Center website regarding the replica field, "Crosley Field was reconstructed by using the blueprints from the original stadium, including the same field dimensions, grass infield, the infamous outfield terrace, and the same dimensions, height, and angles of the outfield wall." Some of the original seating and a scoreboard replication of the last ever pitch make it very close to the original field, while the Riverfront re-creation so far includes simply the same outfield dimensions and walls as that of the most recent ex-Reds home. While I never played on the big fields, the fields I did play on were top of the line. In fact, when I drove up to the complex this week, there were a ton of men working on the fields to keep them in tip-top shape. "Grooms" really is a special place in the City of Blue Ash, and even if you don't play sports, surely you'll have to check out some time on the Fourth of July.

It is softer than your standard ground, which makes playing a bit easier on the body for us older folks. Lights illuminate the field when it starts to get dark, too. There are a couple of soccer fields; a number of baseball diamonds; as well as a replica of Crosley Field. An all-around well-kept, practical, and expansive sports and rec center. If you love playing soccer, getting into a league here is tops.
