Shere-E-Punjab is a very nice Indian restaurant. You can see the cool lit up bar from the outside. My husband found this place on Opentable for our recent date night. The inside was a nice surprise, we're used to seeing outdated decor and carpet. It was very modern but still felt Indian. I enjoyed the music playing. Our server was older, not very attentive after he sat us down. I normally order curries but did not see it on the menu. I was a little confused about that since curries are the norm at every Indian restaurant I've ever been to. I asked him about curry dishes since it was not on the menu and he was kind of rude about it. He said they would be able to make it. We ordered the lamb samosa for an appetizer, which was delicious, especially with the two sauces they gave with it. My husband ordered his favorite dish, Chicken Tikki Masala, the sauce was much lighter than we had anywhere which he liked. I had the lamb curry which was ok. The sauce was not very flavorful and the consistency was light. The garlic naan couldn't soak up any of the sauce. The rice was good, I enjoyed the peas that was mixed in with it. DO NOT order the mango chutney, it was a disappointment! It tasted like it was taken right from a jar. It was really sweet and did not have a sour taste at all since they described it as sweet and sour. I normally get the onion chutney at Maharaja which is fresh onions cut up and pairs up well with curries. So I thought the mango chutney was going to be fresh and light, not thick like a jam. To sum things up, the lamb samosa was delicious but my curry dish was sub par. I probably will not return, however everyone has different taste and should definitely try it. All the sauces are the same and sweet. Murg makhani, murg korma, and malai kofta all had the same curry base. It was like they cooked the chicken and threw it into the sauce. Chicken and paneer was cooked well though. Not chewy. Nothing is spicy even if you ask for it. Naans are good. read more

They claim to have outdoor seating, and indeed have tables outside. However, please be warned that they refused to let us sit outside. They said we had to sit inside only. How lazy does someone have to be to refuse to just open the door and take like two extra steps to bring the food outside? And by the way, we are the only ones here at 7pm on a Friday night!!! No wonder no one else is here. It's most likely due to the horrible non-existant service! Why do they advertise outside seating if it's not true? When we asked him why, he said it's because we can't have alcohol outside. But we never said we wanted any alcohol! He just didn't want to bring the food outside, period. We drove 25 minutes to get there. We still follow Covid protocols due to DOCTOR'S ORDERS. We don't dine inside, period. Now all our dinner plans are ruined! The food was great... the Mixed Platter gives you a good variety of food and is highly recommended. We tried the naan and some a couple different curries and both were pretty authentic. The menu is very beginner friendly for Indian food and I would recommend it for sure. It is a bit pricey for Indian food but the ambiance is worth it. I live in Queens in NYC so I eat Indian food on a regular basis. While home visiting my parents we decided to try out this new Indian restaurant. I would say that the Indian food was good, but nothing special. I was satisfied with my meal and they gave good portions. The ambiance of the restaurant was WAY better than Indian restaurants in NYC that often just look like diners. There was music playing, but at a low enough volume that you could still hold a conversation. The service was a little slow. The restaurant was full and I think they may have been a bit overwhelmed. Me and my girlfriend only had Indian food once and were always willing to try it again since it was more of a smaller entree. I came here for my girlfriends birthday and she was already impressed with the available seating and the manners the gentleman had, we had a seat along the wall with a wonderful view and cozy atmosphere. First thing we ordered was an appetizer, We had an assortments of tandoori breads with two types of dipping sauces which were very tasty, the waiter was very patient and had given us the time needed to select the main dish, I had selected the Lamb vindaloo and she had ordered the Murg kurahi, both dishes were marvelous and superb. The pricing of the food is not bad at all, especially for the tasteful experience you will have. We will be back to try out some more dishes. read more

Where do I begin? After we were seated we had to wait nearly 20 minutes for someone to bring us water (a server absentmindedly tried to bring us a refill but didn't realize we hadn't received glasses yet) I was putting my coat on to leave when a manager came over and apologized. My wife convinced me to stay seeing as she normally enjoys this place. It gets worse. While my wife's Chicken Tikka Masala was ok, the Tandoori wings I ordered were undercooked. I was more then happy to pay for the Chicken Tikka, but I flat out refused to pay for the wings. When it was time to leave, the manager was very rude and said "oh our wings are very good here, you have to pay for them" I'm sure they are good seeing as I've had them before. Haven't been to much Indian places but this place is pretty good, a lock if you're looking for some spicy vegetarian food. If vegan, expect to pay extra for your starch. Finally found an Indian restaurant that serves Vindaloo really spicy. Have had it at several other places in the area and it never comes out more that mild. Here, I ordered #3 on a scale of 1-5 and trust me, if you go above 3 you better really like spice. The rice was maybe the best rice I've had also. Super light and fluffy. The chicken dish with mild sauce was tasty and suitable for anyone. Super friendly people . The waiter brought us extra rice and was attentive in refills on ice tea. This has quickly become my favorite local Indian restaurant. Everything I have tried has been excellent. The atmosphere is very nice and the service is great. Since they are still relatively new and in a tucked away location, within the Concordville Town Centre, I have never had to wait more than a few moments to be seated. My personal favorites on the menu are the Pashawari Naan (which tastes almost like a dessert with the sweet coconut inside) and the Punjabi Chana. I usually order a Mango Lassi to go with my meal. Recently checked out this place for dinner with my boyfriend. We both agreed that its the best Indian food we have ever had! We will definitely be returning. I had the Tikka Masala, the chicken was cooked perfectly and the sauce was very good. Usually I'm afraid of the chicken being too dry but it was perfect. We also enjoyed a great and refreshing appetizer the server had recommended so I'm unsure of the name. The ingredients were all very fresh, colorful, and satisfying. we also enjoyed some bread and the mango ice cream. We plan on coming back soon to try more of the menu. The restaurant and the staff are real gems! My husband & I went early on a Saturday for dinner and we had Julia as our waitress. We were so taken with her outgoing, helpful personality that she alone would get you going back for a return visit but then we had drinks and appetizers!!! OMG!!! Speciality cocktails are super delicious and our appetizers of Aloo tikki chat (a hint of spicy heat) and Reshmi kabab were super delicious!!! And yes, the garlic Naan is wonderful!!
