The food is delicious, seasoned to perfection and exceeded our expectations. I can't wait to go back and try the Lamb.

I love Indian food. I married into an Indian family so I had better love it…read more Sometimes when I get Indian food for lunch at work, my wife gets jealous that I ate it without her. But when I tell her about this place, I'm guessing she might not care as much. I've been wanting to try it for a while. Today I rolled the dice. And I'd say my experience was decidedly mixed. Basically, the samosa was excellent. Knowing her she'd love that. The Gobi Manchurian, one of my favorite dishes, was decent but I've had better flavors elsewhere. But I'm not complaining about it. Knowing her, she'd say it was OK at best. The Chicken 65, another of my favorites, is something I'm complaining about. The flavor was just way off. All I could taste was hot spice and lemon, and nothing else. Knowing her, she'd want to throw it out. I ordered it mild, but a lot of places where I do that it doesn't affect the other flavors. Maybe it does here. I will say they had a pretty decent mango lassi. So a couple things kept me from making this review worse. I'd come back here if I craved a good samosa and lassi as a snack. It's hard for me to try anything else past that now.

Their prices are very reasonable and the food is absolutely delicious, ESPECIALLY their goat roast biryani. It was incredible! Rice was perfectly cooked, wonderfully spiced, and the portion of goat meat was generous and the meat was tender, fresh and flavorful. Their masala chai is also excellent. Great balance of a full flavored black tea that was very creamy and well spiced. We also tried the bitter chicken and the goat curry. Both were amazing. The butter chicken was rich, thick, and flavorful. The goat curry was perfect! Meat was tender, again great portion size of meat, and the curry itself was wonderfully spiced. You have the option of choosing your spice level - we chose spicy, and it was a good spice level for us since we do like spicy food. The dining area is bright and cheery and they have Tamil and Telegu movies playing on the screens. The girls at the front are just so kind. We were greeted right away and they chatted with us while we waited for our order. They really were so sweet and were able to give us recommendations on what to order and knew their menu so well. There is a spacious parking lot and plenty of handicap accessible spaces right near the restaurant which was helpful. Overall we had an excellent experience at Southern Spice. Great food, very fair prices, cooked well and authentic flavors. And I really cannot say enough about the hostess and waitress. Honestly some of the best service I have ever had. Will absolutely be back!

This is an amazing addition to Eagle and I wish I worked closer so I could go there regularly. The awesome mini chaffing dishes for the entrees keeps your food piping hot and the little design flourishes in every aspect really elevate the experience. Don't miss this gem!

It was nice to find this place open on a Monday when many other places are closed in the start of the week. The menu is pretty extensive if you look on line with some odd fusion options that you don't see on the dine in menu. The food here is very good and while I like spicy food, I would definitely order my items mild again as some of the dishes packed some real heat. We are a sharing crew and split the butter chicken, the chicken 65 biriyani and a goat curry. We all would order these again. They came with plenty of white basmati rice on the side and extra was offered if we wanted more. We also ordered some naan and also puri (which is deep fried and rarely do we see it on the menu at the various Indian restaurants in the area). The breads are good, but I have had better. We ordered Lassis, mango and salt and were dissappointed that the $7 mango lassi was not freshly prepared as it came in a sealed bottle like a Wawa ice tea (their own brand) and a straw. Lesson learned on that one. Raita that usually accompanies the biriyani in most places was an extra - several dollars for less than 4 oz. Service was very pleasant and accommodating. Decor is modern with the dining room boldly colored in fire-engine red and black. Menus are on iPads so you have to keep swiping pages for each subsection as the menu is quite comprehensive. On this visit, there was Bollywood-style dancing continuously playing on the three large screens in the dining room with accompanying soundtrack. While a bit loud, some of the imagery was definitely not G rated, so if you are bringing younger children, one should be aware of it. Takeout is also available as is some groceries. Food is good. Decor is trendy.
