But when I tell her about this place, I'm guessing she might not care as much. I've been wanting to try it for a while. Today I rolled the dice. And I'd say my experience was decidedly mixed. Basically, the samosa was excellent. Knowing her she'd love that. The Gobi Manchurian, one of my favorite dishes, was decent but I've had better flavors elsewhere. But I'm not complaining about it. Knowing her, she'd say it was OK at best. The Chicken 65, another of my favorites, is something I'm complaining about. The flavor was just way off. All I could taste was hot spice and lemon, and nothing else. Knowing her, she'd want to throw it out. I ordered it mild, but a lot of places where I do that it doesn't affect the other flavors. Maybe it does here. I will say they had a pretty decent mango lassi. So a couple things kept me from making this review worse. I'd come back here if I craved a good samosa and lassi as a snack. It's hard for me to try anything else past that now.

This was unexpected and I hope their business is doing well. Their food quality and service remains excellent in my eyes.

The Biriyani was well spiced but a little salty, nevertheless it was tasty. I've gotten it in medium spice before and I'd suggest getting it so, if you're someone who can handle spice- the flavor are stronger and it's more tastier when it's more spicy. The Chicken Lollipop was good and it came with a green sauce which complimented the Lollipops. Finally the Mango Lassi was chilled and sweet- not overly sweet, which is perfect. The service was adequate and so was the atmosphere.

We were given the menu, the menu is great and also available online as well. Our waiter Rajan was able to provide some great recommendations for the appetizer and we went with this suggestions for Kodi Vepudu, Tawa Fish fry. The Kodi vepeudu was just perfectly seasoned/spiced and the dry masala that came with it was perfect and we order some white rice to savor this. The chicken was done right and the pieces and portions were perfect. Tawa fish fry was good, I felt it was over seasoned and the masala was too strong. But my friends enjoyed it. The fish was cooked perfect and it was just soft. Great Tawa fry. As Rajan's recommendations were good, he also suggested the Nalli ghost Biryani and we ordered that for entree and one Chicken ulavacharu biryani. Nalli Ghost Biryani was good, the portion was huge and the rice was flavroful. However the Nalli was good but not awesome. Could have been better. Chicken ulavacharu biryani was tasty and not like typical Dum biryani. Great food and the food came right on time. Definitely will visit again !!

Peanut and Tree-nut Allergy Safe…read more Food was delicious and fresh. Everything we ordered was hot coming out, and tasted great. Waiter was friendly, helpful and it did not take long to get our food. I have a lethal Peanut and tree-nut allergy and had no issues eating here or communicating with the staff. At the time I came the only thing that has nuts is the deserts, so I was able to pick from the whole menu when it came to food and not worry about entree cross contamination which was a delightful surprise. This includes their vegetarian options which were also nut free. I am excited to go back and try more of their menu.

I'm providing this honest review as a constructive feedback for improvement…read more We came across this place online but were only able to try it recently...I was honestly disappointed by many things: First, when a place advertises shawarma meat and posts videos of the famous Lebanese shawarma revolving cone that grills the marinated meat as the cone turns, you would expect that the shawarma plate you order is an authentic shawarma meat cut off the shawarma cone...unfortunately, this was not the case at cafe baladi. I respect the owner who's advertising authentic homemade Lebanese food but the shawarma meat we got was not an authentic shawarma meat...this was meat that was cooked either in a pan or in the oven and was not tender because it was not probably marinated and it's not grilled on the shawarma cone. Placed that have the famous shawarma cone you can usually see in the restaurant either behind the counter or through a window in the back - this was not the case. Second the plate included the choice of hummus or baba ghannouj and tabbouleh...we picked baba ghannouj and we got the tabbouleh...again, the baba ghannouj did not taste at all authentic nor homemade...it tasted like the baba ghannouj in a conserved can that you find in grocery stores. Authentic baba ghannouj is made from grilled eggplant tahini lemon juice and salt. Third, the Lebanese tabboule is made from finely chopped vegetables (parsley, tomatoes, onions, lemon juice, and burgul). Unfortunately again this tabbouleh was not finely chopped and it lacked the burgul. We were really disappointed. The only positive thing was that the service was quick.
