We went for lunch at almost 12 pm. They supposedly open at 11:30 am. Open the door to 2 inches of soap and water and a man mopping the floors. Was told to come back in an hour. Won't be back and we've been coming here for over a decade. No way to treat customers with rudeness. It's a little bit of a drive from where I live, but it's the best no fail Indian food around. I usually order from here for my family about once a month. Here is our go to order - vegetable pakora (fantastic. Good variety of veggies, lightly spiced - my 3 and 5 year olds love them), vegetarian samosa (great flavor, sometimes they have some kick so it's hit or miss with the kids, but adults love them), chicken korma and chicken saag (we get medium spice and it's fairly spicy, good big chunks of white meat chicken, thick sauce). The pashwari naan is unbelievable. So good. Kids eat the whole thing. The chicken biryani is nice too. I haven't eaten inside, but it's your typical restaurant inside. Looks nice, but not fancy. Take out has never missed! I did have one not so pleasant experience with the manager/owner when picking up takeout on time, but service has been fine otherwise. read more

Located in a strip mall setting in Glen Mills, PA, Sher-E-Punjab is an excellent option for Indian food when visiting the Longwood Gardens & Brandywine area. I've dined there twice now, and the food quality has been great and service friendly both times I've gone. The mango lassi (4/5) tasted good with nice hints of mango. I was a bit apprehensive since it was served with ice, but it didn't detract at all from the taste. The chicken tikka masala and palak paneer (both 4.5/5) were solid preparations with each with their respective tomato and spinach gravies. Although business seemed slow when I visited, they were on point with quality of both dishes. Naan was fluffy & delicious, with a fresh taste. For dessert, we had the kheer (4/5) which hit all the right flavor notes and a perfect portion for sharing among multiple diners to satisfy the sweet tooth. The prices (5/5) were very reasonable for Indian food as most other restaurants are usually more expensive. Service was friendly and food quality great such that Shere-E-Punjab will be our go to Indian restaurant when in the Brandywine area. read more

This is my go-to for when I'm craving some of my favorite Indian dishes. The chicken korma is sooooo good. Even all 3 of my sons will eat it, ages 4 and under. I've wanted to try this place for a few years, but the anticipation was short lived. The staff were inattentive, rude, and unhelpful. It was not busy... Our waitress never took our drink order, and we had to wave down another to get service. We ordered a chatt and 2 samosas as an appetizer. When it came, the server dropped the food off so quickly we couldn't respond. The chatt was unlike any id ever had, and it was doused in cilantro. My husband does not eat cilantro, and it was not listed as an ingredient in the dish. I brought this to our waitress's attention and asked if she could bring another without cilantro. The waitress outright refused to take the dish back or offer any compromise. She insisted that all Indian Food is served with cilantro. When our entrees, came the cook dropped them off at the table again so quickly it was abrupt. The chicken was dry. We had to wave down another serve for a refill. In addition, the booth seat-backs here rock back and forth when the patrons on the other side lean to and fro. Doesn't scratch the itch for Indian food, a night out, or good ambience. read more

I ordered the mango lassi, green salad and lamb biryani. I ordered everything to go and I fairly enjoyed most of the food. The mango lassi was way to sweet for my liking. I also didn't understand why they put the mango lassi in a container rather than a cup??? I ended up drinking the mango lassi like a soup rather than a drink. The lamb biryani was definitely a lot of food and filled me up. There was a good amount of lamb throughout the dish although I thought some lamb chunks were a bit too big and dry. I think the biggest disappointment was the green salad. $5 for a lousy salad that pretty much had nothing special to it. That was the biggest rip ever. So now I've visited all three Shere E Punjab locations. If you've ever followed my reviews, or seen my Indian restaurant list, you will know that Shere E Punjab in Drexel Hill is a favorite of mine as well as my wife. Since Drexel Hill is so close, we rarely come out here for Indian. But, since I was in the area, and the wife wanted some Indian takeout on Saturday, I stopped here on the way home. And if my pregnant wife who hails from Mumbai craves Indian food, that means I'm having Indian food for dinner too. Gee, what a hardship for me, eh? Well, I'll say that of all three locations, this one is the nicest looking by far, and the bar certainly helps it's look. It might make me come here more often from now on. I also noticed a couple of dishes on the menu here I hadn't seen in Drexel Hill. Murg Badami was one of them, so I gave that a shot. Though it is pretty similar to the Korma they serve in Drexel Hill with the same creamy texture, it is a slighty more unique taste here. This is a good thing. Basically, Shere E Punjab has already set a 5 star precedent. This location simply had to match the food quality we have come to love, and they get the same treatment on Yelp. They certainly matched it. The Shahi Paneer and Punjabi Chana made the wife happy, and it made me happy. If you like Indian food, it will make you happy too. And, if you like the spice, the medium level here will be more than enough spice to satisfy you. I mean, I would really have to be in the mood to drive out here over going to Drexel Hill, but the important thing is that this location meets the high standard that this 3 restaurant operation has set. read more

Ordered the lamb vindaloo at a spice level of 4 on their scale of 1-5. Service was quick and pleasant. Food came fast. Lamb was fork tender and very good. Sauce was thick and spicy. I went in with a friend and we were absolutely Blown Away by how perfect everything here is. The decor is stunning, everything was clean, the staff jumped head-over-heels to be attentive and friendly and helpful. We ate the buffet for $9.99 each and everything on the buffet was delicious.
