Started off with a good experience with Shepherds, but by the time installation came, it turned pretty sour. The tile guy, Trenton(?) was awesome, but the carpet folks they sent took many shortcuts and left an atrocious mess. They also ripped out all of our baseboard because they "misunderstood" us when we told them not to. In addition, they didn't level out our living room adequately, which Shepherd's tile guy agreed. In our formal room, they did not finish the carpet transition properly, and the carpet began lifting a few hours after they left. Their carpet installer refused to acknowledge any issues. Shepherds then sent Trenton back, who is their tile guy, to fix the carpet issue. He mentioned that the way in which the carpet guys over-stretched the carpet would be an issue within the year, and he was right. We are now experiencing lifting of the carpet at the edge and it is beginning to destroy the carpet. It has been only a year. We will be seeking out options to remedy this experience. read more

As others have stated in the reviews below, they were very responsive, but their installation staff which appear to be sub-contracted just don't care about the house they're working on. The carpet guys did a really poor job on our house and after just 1 year, the carpet is pulling off because it was overstretched. When we mentioned it at time of install to Shepherd's, they didn't really seem to care and they kept sending back the same contractor who was very combative and very sloppy. I don't think there's much communication between the sales guys and the installers. read more

We purchased carpet and flooring for most of our basement. I thought the prices and service were good until after it was installed. One edge of the carpet on the stairway is still fraying at the edge. I called and was told someone would come out to check it. No one did. I went in to talk to them. I felt they were rude to me but they did send the installer who first did it out. He put about 50 staples in the edge, brushed back and forth, commented how bad it was still fraying and said he didn't know what to do about it. I suggested covering the edge with a strip, was informed he would talk to his boss about it, and have heard nothing since. After 5 weeks, I still have a carpet with a fraying edge. read more

The customer service I received from a woman named Bree was very distasteful and ultimately the reason me and my husband chose another flooring company. Bree was not only rude in person, but on the phone as well. She was smoking outside when we went in, and she seemed very upset she had to help us. She could not answer any questions and the information she gave us over the phone was innacurate. She had to have a young gentleman help us. Not only did she not return our calls, but being a small town, things she had said about me and my husband made it back to us. I find this very unprofessional. Having someone with a bad attitude working in a customer service industry is never a good way to acquire business. read more

An impressive 5 days from inquiry to installation. Just wish they weren't so fast to move on to the next job. The installer left a mess and my complaints (and photos) were deflected and ultimately led me nowhere. 20 minutes of cleaning up would have made this a 5 star review. read more
