He stayed after closing letting me narrow things down at least two or three times, and then made at least three house visits to make sure I was happy with how the samples looked with my wall paint, furniture and tile. He ended up special ordering the carpet that I had my heart set on and shipped it with in about a week. When the carpet was installed, I loved one of the carpets, but was concerned that the other carpet in the higher traffic areas wasn't standing up the same as the sample I had selected. Patrick took a cutting from the new carpet and had it steamed which caused fibers that had been tightly pressed on the carpet roll to relax more quickly into their settled shape. This confirmed that the rest of the carpet will soon take this shape as it sits for another month or so. I'm feeling great about my purchase and recommend Patrick at Ogden's to whomever might be looking at getting new carpet.

From the…read morefirst call we were clear that we had a firm deadline tied to our listing, more than a month out, and we were assured repeatedly it would be no problem. It was not. The start kept getting pushed back to the last minute. The first crew couldn't finish, said they ran out of materials, and left a mess of food boxes and trash across our backyard and basement floor. After that it became a pattern: every time I asked for a completion date I was told "very soon," and it never happened. There was always a new reason, most often that materials weren't available or an installer couldn't be found. The delays forced me to reschedule our staging and photography, which cost me significantly out of pocket. At the final deadline the job still wasn't done. I was told it could only be finished with a mismatched carpet, and even then they missed the day they promised. In the end I had to find and pay someone myself to finish the job Ogden's had started. Part of my basement is now mismatched, the work finished late, and it only got done because I stepped in and paid out of pocket to complete it. Despite very clear communication about the stakes, Ogden's has not made any effort to make this right. I'd think carefully before trusting them with a project that has a real deadline.

They admit that even their installers install it incorrectly which leads me to believe this is not a good quality product. Started off with a good experience with Shepherds, but by the time installation came, it turned…read morepretty sour. The tile guy, Trenton(?) was awesome, but the carpet folks they sent took many shortcuts and left an atrocious mess. They also ripped out all of our baseboard because they "misunderstood" us when we told them not to. In addition, they didn't level out our living room adequately, which Shepherd's tile guy agreed. In our formal room, they did not finish the carpet transition properly, and the carpet began lifting a few hours after they left. Their carpet installer refused to acknowledge any issues. Shepherds then sent Trenton back, who is their tile guy, to fix the carpet issue. He mentioned that the way in which the carpet guys over-stretched the carpet would be an issue within the year, and he was right. We are now experiencing lifting of the carpet at the edge and it is beginning to destroy the carpet. It has been only a year. We will be seeking out options to remedy this experience.
