In town to visit our son/gf & I was looking for a fun spot for dinner near Shoreline Village on a Saturday night. Found Shenanigans via Yelp. It was such a fun atmosphere & good food to enjoy a beautiful Sat evening. We had a table in the back near the outside seating & marina. Far enough from the awesome band playing my favorite 80's tunes that we could still talk, while still staying warm inside and have a great view of the marina. Jessica was our server & she was awesome! We ordered hummus plate with pita & veggies, chicken wings (extra crispy yum!!), shepherd's pie, a veggie wrap, fish & chips, & fish tacos. Everything was super yummy!! Also had some drinks, Mexican mule, margarita, basic beer, Jameson & shots to celebrate our being together for a fun few days! I had to go to the bar to order drinks when a hostess stated that she was leaving. She did an excellent job in asking me when I needed another drink , but the person that took over, I had to literally had to go to the bar to order more drinks. If someone is taking over a servers tables then o would expect the same service. I did not receive the same service. Once we left we accidentally left a parking pass and went back within 15 minutes and our table was cleaned but the parking pass was no where to be seen. Who ever cleaned the table obviously took the pass. Very dissatisfied with the service and the honesty of the staff. I will not ever return to this establishment. They are thieves!! read more

I want to be positive and attempt to leave a positive review but it is really difficult for me because I have to be honest. I came with 5 friends and at first service was quick as we were attended rather quickly. That's where it went wrong from there. Ordered 5 drinks only received 4 and it took an extra 10 minutes for the 5th to show up. The food was not great at all. No flavor from the chicken strips to the burger to the steaks. Drinks are overpriced. Chicken strips and fries used to be well seasoned and now just taste bland. I ordered ranch with them and it was the small ketchup container they give but one would think for the size of the strips you get atleast two I only recieved one. I requested another and after eating I recieved bill and a 14.50 meal surprising became a 16.50 meal with a 1.75 ranch charge added which made the bill 18.50 or so I didn't complain I just placed a 20 on the table and thaught to my self well the waitress just gave away her tip. Shenanigans never disappoints! This place is a terrific Irish designed pub, with the best bar, heated patio seating, and most attentive staff. Levi was our server today and as always took excellent care of my wife and me. I had the fish 'n chips, the 3 fish street tacos, I ordered the deep fried battered zucchini rounds with ranch dressing, the food was super hot and delicious, the new beer cooler is amazing: Guinness down to 26°F and incredible taste. My wife had the zucchini rounds with me, and she ordered the turkey sandwich on sourdough and a side salad. She had water with the food and as I ordered a 2nd glass of Guinness to enjoy after our food she had a cup of hot tea. Overall, a 6 star rating!!! Woke up on St Pattys day determined to get Irish nachos and we landed here. For being so busy from the holiday staff was super attentive and really fun. Had the nachos which were served with like a chili and I wasn't a fan ended up tasting like chili cheese fries. The shepherds pie was quite bland and my salad dressing was straight up warm. Now, the Reuben sand which was immaculate so buttery and flavorful and the bread was super toasted but not tough. Incredible sandwhich. read more

Came here with a group of 15-20 people on a Saturday night. Not busy at all and the name alone should've deterred us from coming here! We ordered drinks and wanted to order food but the kitchen was closed. We asked management if we could order food and have it delivered and we were told yes. Our food arrived but they wouldn't let us eat it inside. To our displeasure we go outside to eat and thats when our night took a turn. A bartender accused one of us of hitting a security guard (DID NOT happen) and called the cops. Not a problem we were happy to leave but needed to settle the bill. Weirdly the manager tells us she took pictures of our credit card. Unfriendly staff with a security team that is looking to aggravate their guest. Do not take your dog here! .. they claim to be dog friendly.. they are not. I tried to order a hamburger patty for my dog which I don't mind paying for but apparently it isn't allowed. The server said they get in trouble for placing the order and putting it in a to go container. Save your money and Go next door to yard house, tequila jacks or lighthouse. On top of that only one patio is dog friendly. We asked the guy if I could stand on the outside of the bar and he said yea but after we ordered drinks their "security " said it wasn't allowed. Great place to have a meal and a beer after getting off the ferry from Catalina Island. Shenanigans is part of the busy, touristy, but fun Long Beach aquarium and ferry landing area. They have outdoor, indoor and bar seating. We sat at the bar and were greeted as soon as we walked in. Friendly service on a Sunday afternoon. They had live music going on the patio. Great selection of craft beers. I really enjoyed my lunch: grilled cheese sandwich and tomato basil soup--omg so tasty ! And the perfect amount , not too much or too little. Very chill place. I usually come here to listen to great bands or sit on the front patio to people watch. Pretty good service except when the big red bus is in. Have been for years. Love it. Today was likely the last time I venture over to this place. Sitting and having a good time only to find each time I ordered a Michelada I was being charged an additional $3.25 per drink for a splash of Bloody Mary mix to be thrown into to my Corona Premier. 3 drinks for a whopping 36 bucks. Are you out of your mind? I get prices and inflation have risen. But this is absurd. Pay for the beer and ADD 3.25 for the mix. Let's do the math. The person next to me gets a full beer. Came here for a quick bite to eat after parasailing at Long Beach Parasail. It's open seating so you just find any table and have a seat. It took a few minutes for a waiter to come by and get us menus though. And we also had to get place settings from the table next to us (the couple at that table were very nice). Food was great! I ordered Sheas sliders (with corned beef) and also got a taste of the fish and chips. Live music was playing so it was a bit loud for my liking. Good experience overall though. read more

Horrible service! You order a drink and only see the waitress again if you wave her down, others it's bar service only. Food was good, live music was good but musicians also complained that they changed the time on them and had to rearrange their gigs. Oh and don't ever give them your debit/credit card, they will give it back to someone else which makes you have to cancel your card-so cash only, the bad part about this is you have to pay after every drink-if you make it past more than one round with this service. Nice place and we were able to get a table near the band. The service was questionable as it took 30 minutes of requesting to get the bill. They obviously need more servers. Zero stars for this place and especially Wendy the bartender who wrongfully embarrassed my boyfriend who has lived his entire life having to deal with ignorant people like her. On Thursday around 2:40 Shenanigans, Wendy Upon greeting she automatically spoke over our request to be sat at the outside marina facing patio as we calmly began to explain the title of the perfectly legal GUIDE DOG. We have come to shenanigans as customers and as performers and not once was Lincoln a problem. WENDY who initially told us she does not care about the rightful request then proceeds to mock us and not help us in a way in front of other customers who were clearly embarrassed from her bad service. We will unfortunately communicate to the Long Beach community that shenanigans is not of support of the ADA compliance clearly because their staff is uninformed and obviously does not care, these were Wendys exact words. I honestly had been walking around downtown and it was so hot and I was exhausted , so I caught a ride here because it was one of the few places open since I was up early. Also, if you've seen the movie super troopers it's obvious why I chose this place. The service from Patrick was phenomenal- friendly and so quick! Three stars is wrong!!!!!! I'm becoming an angry Yelper. 3 stars for this place is absurd. Please give it a chance. One of the people who gave them a 1-star review gave it because of their DOG. Seriously?!?! Just because Yelp! sounds like something a dog would say, it's on YOU for bringing your dog to a pub. In the most touristy area in Long Beach. Give me a break. Go eat at Petco. Others have complained about the service. At night. In an Irish pub that served me two pints of the freshest Guinness I've had in years. I haven't had the second yet. But I'm ordering in a minute. That's right. I haven't even finished my meal and I'm Yelping. Because this place deserves better. My chowder was absolutely great. Filled with bacon, clams, potatoes, and deliciousness. The fries were perfect. And my Reuben was perfect. Did I mention the Guinness? It wasn't poured. It was properly built. And customer service? Now granted - I was here at lunch but it was on a Friday and relatively calm. But a couple came in that I think the owner must've hired to test their staff. A mother daughter team. The entire bar was open. And they sat next to me. Right next to me. I won't go into details, but these two were absolutely in the category of "you can't make this $&@# up." The bartender was solicitous, respectful, and didn't refuse to abuse the Absolut Raspberry that the mom ordered. She asked to add so much sugar and syrups to it that by the end my 12-year old Shirley Temple-loving daughter would've thought it was gross. Wow. There I go. Ranting. My fiancé and I left the aquarium nearby and decided to drop in. It was our first time here. As soon as you enter there...security checks for ID... We sat far away from the bar because we brought our 1 year old....didn't want to kill the ambience because she had a long day and was already fussy...I'm glad we were able to sit and have a drink. I am a bit sad that there was no huckleberry drink but must be a seasonal drink...wanted to try it because I saw it on Instagram.... But I did have the damn good dragonfruit collins...I expected to have some color for some reason...the drink looked like sparkling water....but the taste was really good and did not disappoint. We also had the Moscow mule shenanigans which was really tasty!! We loved the drinks and sad we couldn't have a few more. The starter (appetizers) that we fell in love with was the zucchini and calamari. The fried zucchini's were the best I ever had....it was not overbattered like other places I have been to...you can taste the zucchini's and it was lightly battered but very flavorful...wanted to take some to go but our little one was ready to go.
