Stopped in on a weekend, needing a smog check. Drove up and a man walked up & barked orders at me. Said to get out and go inside. Um, no. I've never had to leave my car for a smog check, it should literally take 10 minutes max. I'm good. He took my keys, got in and proceeded to try to put a key in (I have a fob) I kept saying "THERE IS NO KEY!" My car is a 2018 so there aren't any issues, and I found it so odd that this man wanted me to leave my car. I stood leaning against it and waited. When he was done I went inside, and paid, but it was just a weird vibe with the woman inside and him. It was cheap yes, but I'd not recommend, nor will I go back. read more

She was joined by her dog, both seated in the sunshine on a brisk winter day. She quickly arose as we approached and began the check. Less than five minutes later, we'd passed and were instructed to pay inside. $19.95 on the nose, just as the sign says. It's been the same price for as far back as I can remember. They're also open Sunday, while many others aren't. So if you're in need, make the trip and get er done here. It'll make sure you don't have to pay any of those crazy DMV late fees! read more

I stopped here for a smog check yesterday, Jan. 15. I was amazed at the courtesy and quickness of my visit! I was n and out in 10 minutes, and they transferred the results of the check immediately. I decided to give The Shell Gas Station, located on East Moana Lane and at the cross-street of Kietzke Lane a 'Three-Star' review because I had called prior to going there and I asked how much they charge for a smog check. I was told that it was $19.99. After I had my vehicle checked out and it passed the inspection for being in compliance of The DMV's requirements, I was charged an extra dollar. I asked, "why I was charged an additional dollar?" I explained to the woman who was assisting me, that I was quoted a lower price. The lady who actually performed my smog check was polite and she responded, "the owner charges an additional dollar if you use a credit card." Hmmm. I hope that my review will be helpful to others. I believe that if a business is charging its customers for fees or costs for services then they should have a sign to advise the public so they are informed. That would be a good policy to have and good ethical business practices. A business owner should be forthcoming about hidden fees so that the customer knows upfront and then they can make a decision about either going to another competitor or pay the fee for using a credit card. read more

Reliable smog shop open seven days a week. It's not a looker and their equipment is dirty and dated, but the staff was friendly, and it was only $20 to get my car smogged on a Sunday when every other location doing smogs was closed. As for the gas station/convenience mart, lots of pumps were closed and the inside of the store was filthy. I probably wouldn't eat or drink anything from inside, but I get the feeling that a majority of their money comes from auto care, not food sales. So the four stars is because the convenience area isn't the best. If they got a cosmetic facelift and a merchandiser in there, would totally be a five star location, but in the meantime, you can't beat it for a $20 smog. read more

I needed a quick smog test to re-register my car during my lunch break that was both cheap and fast. Mission accomplished! The price was only $20, which is relatively cheap in this day and area, and I was able to get in and out in about 10 minutes, with time left to spare on my 1 hr lunch break, and after waiting for another customer in front of me. I drive by this place all the time exiting the Moana freeway exit, but never noticed they did smog tests. The staff was friendly, and the tester clearly had experience, and knew what he was doing... The only reason for the 4 stars is because for being a Shell gas station, I felt like the place looked runned down for being known as a brand name gasoline station. They definitely need a remodel inside & out. read more

The people were friendly and seemed happy, which is usually a sign of good management/leadership. They were competent and professional. Everything went smoothly, no friction at all. If you arrive, there are two bays if they are occupied, just chill closet to the gas sign on the corner of Kietzke and Moana, it's the official waiting spot. Chill place to get gas. Prices are market value and there's usually plenty of empty pumps to go around. They even have a service station for those in need of a smog check or minor car maintenance. Never had a problem here so far. Nice place to stop if your about take the freeway from the Moana on ramp. P.S. The air pump can get a little busy sometimes, but nothing more than a 3 - 5 minute wait. read more

this place is a rip off!!! Never get your car serviced here.. I had them put in a thermostat in my pickup truck and I had to take it back a couple hours later because it was leaking due to them not putting the gasket in properly. The owner started to shout and cus and blame it on me. Accused me of driving off and tampering with it just to get my money back. All I wanted was it to be fixed, I never asked for my money back. He continued to scream and shout and he even turned to his tool and grabbed a large wrench and threatened me with it. I called the cops and they never came down. This place is terrible. read more

I've come here a few times with my boys just looking to fill up on gas. It's a little filthy around the pumps but it could just be the oil stains built up over the years. The Smog Tech there is the unhappy in life or unhappy working there. So this guy sports a 70's Mustache but looks about 20 underneath. I tell the dude "Good Morning!" and he just stares at me. I try genuine small talk and I am ignored. He proceeds to test the Vehicle to which he Stares at his phones and shakes his head as if upset with me, his job or the last cusomter. Whatever the case may be I dont appreciate being ignored. I can understand a bad day to which most of us have from time to time but a blatant disrespect for your customer is a red flag enough for me to vent on the internet. Now this place is getting a 4 star, the Manager thats have been there since before I was born where nice and have always been. I'm not one to pick about filth or cost. The rudest smog technician I have ever encountered. That guy is so arrogant bossing the cutomers around. He told a lady to move her car and when the lady asked where she ahould move it, the guy just said I don't care in the rudest way.
