I had to drive my car on 0 miles to the Mobil on Hollywood (Sunday around 9:30 PM), where they gladly accepted my $100. Pumped $20.03 , there was a man at the pump next to me that was already at that pump way before i even pulled next to the one I used my card at and when I finished pumping he came up to me and said I need to go pay for his pump inside now because I took his money. I've started to come here frequently over the past year and I am happy to say I haven't really had any issues. Due to skimming, I have gotten into the habit of paying inside which is an extra step, but it's not too bad. I just cannot get tempted into buying some random junk food like Combos I haven't had since middle school but will power kicks in... The only 'issue' I had was their credit card machine inside wasn't working and thankfully I still had more than enough fuel, but this could be frustrating had I been flat out E. I know I could have used the card at the pump in that case but since I wasn't desperate, I just left and returned the following day or so. Hi. I like this gas station. But people who work here no good guys. I found same offer in terminal before washer station (4 for 3 premium wash - total 33$). All my credit and debit cards did not work in the terminal (operation failed). I went to inside store for help. Worker said I can buy premium just 1 wash for 11 $ . When I asked about offer , he said I have 2 variants ( buy 1 premium for 11 and no wash my car) when I show this offer in terminal, he just repeat 2 variants again . Car Wash ONLY - I like to get the full-service car wash, and I try to do it on the regular... but sometimes you just don't have time. And then sometimes your SO takes your car to the desert and it looks like hell and you really can't take driving around like that. And for those times, there are the gas station mini car washes... This one has a line most of the time and as you can imagine, on a Saturday at noon, it's a substantial wait time (25 minutes or so). So I recommend you have a good podcast loaded up and just commit. Because it's not bad. I paid $9 and my car looks pretty damn presentable. And for that price, it was completely worth it until I can get to my usual place for a full interior and exterior wash. I come to this particular Shell location all the time since I work in the area. It's clean, well managed, and I usually feel pretty safe. Whether I stop by in the morning or after work, there are always plenty of pumps! I've rarely had to wait for a pump, which I absolutely hate doing. Others, when you talk to them, are like brick walls, barely understanding English and looking at you like you are a trouble and should not be bothering them and not even making an attempt to help you. Any time I have to deal with those people I leave this place deeply frustrated. So, please, try to avoid any contact with these people, just do everything by yourself and let the automatic equipment help you, at least you won't be expecting human compassion or customer service from them. I would give this place Zero Stars if I good. I live very close to this place, so sadly I have to use it pretty often. I'm at the point where I'm going to start going to other stations when possible. While it does have a cheaper price for gas most of the time, it's not worth the hassle of dealing with the people that work there when something screws up. The attendants and managers are very rude and not willing to work with the customer at all when there is a problem. They simply refer you to the Shell complaint number. I have had too many problems with them to list. Usually it involves something to do with my Ralph Rewards points and the pump not accepting it. In particular the most recent problem I had was with them breaking the law. A California state law requires gift card balances of under $10 to be refunded in cash if asked by the customer. Well the attendant and manager both refused to do this. I am still in the process of dealing with Shell to resolve this problem. As I find it annoying to have to use my gift card to pump $5-$10 of gas, finish the transacation as you can only use one form of payment at a time. And then have to restart the pump and use another credit card/gift card to finish your gas purchase. I just wanted to get the change back so I could do one simple stop and go instead of wasting a few bucks left on each of my gift cards. If anyone else runs into similar problems I highly suggest they send complaints to the Shell number at this station. Call and complain with any issues at 1-877-746-6472 (M-F 8-6pm Central time) 1749.5. This is one of my 2 "go to" Shell stations. I try to stick to Shell because I collect Ralph's Rewards points and use the to get 20 cents off per gallon on gas at Shell. This gas station is always well lit which is a welcome amenity when I go there after dark. The pumps are usually all in working order and the screens are well maintained. I mention this because there are some stations where the screen that prompts the customer to enter information is vandalized and scratched so one cannot read the questions. This location is on my way home from work. Of all the gas stations in about a 5 mile radius they have the lowest prices. This is perhaps the main quality that draws me here. read more
