This is a very safe gas station. First, it is located in a residential area. Which means it has a higher proportion of locals as opposed to tourists or folks who are lost. Also the attendant at the register is very close to the service islands which means he or she is within earshot and can see what is going on at the station. There is no remote island that is out of the attendant's field of view. They are still behind glass at night so if something does go down your out-of-luck in terms of help. The price is suprising low for a 76 gas station. I would even compare it very close to Arco which is great. The only minus is that the air and water pump is in an un-lit area. So if you need to use it at night you find yourself feeling-around to make sure the hoses are connected if you need to refill; that is annoying. Inside the have a variety of merchandise, mostly gum and drinks (with no soda fountains unfortunately). There are chips and gem-donuts for sale, but the space is a little small and more traditional of gas stations before they turned into huge convenience stores. read more

As I drove away from Beverly 76 this morning I made a voice-note to myself to write a review and thank Irwin for his kindness. After reading some of the things that others have written, it looks like I'm not alone. It would be an understatement to say that I am NOT a car guy. I drive a 14 year old Jeep and was feeling anxious about driving to Palm Springs to meet an old friend. I stopped at Beverly 76 to get my car tire pressure and fluids checked before I got on the freeway. Irwin stopped what he was doing to help me and his manner put me completely at ease. She realized the cashier charged for 91 gas when she put in 87 gas. The cashier denied and didn't refund her the money for what he overcharged. Beverly 76 are the most HONEST MECHANICS in LA! I'm willing to drive 8 miles to get there, as I can easily drop off my car and pick it up any time late at night, as the gas station is open 24 hours. This makes repairs so convenient for drop-off & pick-up. Irvin is their chief mechanic- he is AMAZING! He answers all my questions, gives me a fair price and offers me different solutions. He is thorough in his assessments- never having me pay for services I don't need. I got a new hybrid battery yesterday. After doing some research, we found they were the most reasonable price! On the way to work this morning, I noticed something felt funky with my car. I pulled in to the nearest gas station to investigate, and lo and behold - it was a gas station with a service station! Yay! After spotting my very obvious flat, I asked one of the car guys to take a look. He quickly removed my tire, gave it a good once-over, and told me there wasn't a leak. Huh? No leak? He shrugged and said maybe someone had let the air out. If that's the case, I had the most polite vandal because they'd replaced the cap on the tire. Or maybe I had the flat-tire version of the immaculate conception. Either way, the guy re-inflated my tire and didn't charge me a thing. If it turns out there IS a leak that the guy didn't spot, I'll update my review, but as of right now, I'm happy and relieved. read more
