I live down the street from this gas station and I walk every single day to get a Coke. I always bring my own cup. I get charged two dollars every single day, until today. There's a Hispanic woman in there. I've only ever bought gas from her, so never had the Coke issue. I asked her how much she was charging me for it and she said $3.12. I explained to her that I only ever pay two dollars and all she said was OK. So I said that I walk here every day and I only ever pay two dollars. She continue to interrupt me and be super rude. Called the gas station multiple times and they weren't answering. On yelp it says they are open 24/7 literally. I drove 5 miles to come here so I could get a car wash and they were closed. This is my neighborhood stop for gas and car wash and they're always doing great, good service and all until this morning 9/20/2018 at 7:03:37 AM. I went for gas and car wash then the machine poured out soap... then it stopped. So I tried moving out since nothing was happening so I went to the cashier to ask her what happened. I would've understand if she listen and be calm to me but DAMN! She got upset with me saying, "I think you moved," or "it won't happen if you didn't move your car." Like seriously? Customer service is non existent!!! Acknowledging another human being is completely lacking here. The receipt cut off my code for a car wash. First of all, the line is very long and takes a while because it's usually busy. But it's a good clean for the price. There's no help button in the kiosk or anything like that. So I googled the phone number. I called multiple times and nobody picked up. Then, finally I got a hold of someone. But it was too late. I go inside to get my receipt reprinted and they don't even acknowledge me and just grab my receipt and reprint it. These people that work here are only good for collecting money. Gas and service are normal as with any other station but they are capable of several off jobs I had done there: 1) King suspension install on a 2012 Toyota FJ cruiser with total chaos UCAs. 2) FP black turbo install on a 2005 Subaru WRX STI 3) Alpine audio system wiring + Navi head unit. 2000 Honda Prelude. Don't ever go to this gas station. I've been suspicious about them for a while. It seemed that after using my card to get gas here, sometime after I would have fraud activity on my bank account. Well, this week I needed emergency gas and stopped here to put thirty bucks in my tank, using my debit card. Needless to say, I just got off the phone with my bank's fraud department because someone was withdrawing money out of my account from ATMs all over LA. I come here often to wash my car, however today I did not. I put money into the drive-thru machine for a wash and it pretty much ate my $10 that I put in there. It wouldn't select anything either. I asked the guy inside for a refund or if he can give me a code instead, he literally told me "my machine doesn't say that you put $10." The car wash is kinda tricky and hard to get to, but it still cleans the car. So I normally don't review gas stations ... actually, I have NEVER reviewed a gas station. The only reason I am leaving one for this one in particular is that it seems to be the only one in Koreatown with an AWESOME car wash! For those of us who can't make it to the hand car washes before they close at 5pm during the weekdays, it's the perfect stop. As long as you don't take Vermont up and find another way to get to this station (using Westmoreland, New Hampshire, or other back streets), it isn't that hard to get to, even during rush hour. The car wash here is AMAZING. I usually leave the car wash with my car half wet because the dryer didn't get everything. But because this one is so small, it does everything for you -- up to and including drying back and forth! What a very pleasant surprise. So, I gave him a quarter and he came backed again and said that he can't buy anything and yelled at me again! And he said these weird words later on. This is usually my go to spot to get gas and to wash my car. Normally I pay for the wash when I purchase gas to get a discount of $1 off the wash. This occasion I purchased gas and the pump prompted me to go inside to pay for the wash. I went inside and was told the wash option was not working in the machine and if I wanted it it would be cash only. My car was very dusty so luckily I had cash on me. I paid and had to wait even longer because someone parked their car in that car wash lane. After 10 mins the owner returned to the car. I was pissed. I had 2 cars ahead of me and it too 20 minutes. So, the way that I break down the whole shell station situation over here on vermont is, if your in dire straights for gas and it's convenient..I guess if you have to. Just hope that you have cash, because this is one of those stupid gas stations that have started charging separate prices for gas and cash. I mean, I get it, the merchant is charged a transaction fee (from visa, or mastercard, etc) every time that a card is used, but just suck it up like most other merchants do and work it into your damn business plan. Come on guys... Whatever, I've seriously made the conscious decision to not get gas here, HOWEVER there are other services that this station provides that doesn't make it completely useless. Case in point, and I think I included this in a quick tip once too, air and water is free (you don't have to buy gas, f-you olympic & san vicente....you know who you are) and they do include a drive through cash wash which is a bonus for convenience. Mini mart's got a good selection of treats and snacks, with the typically gas station markup, so no surprises there. They do have an on site mechanic, good in so pinch I guess.personally, I've got my own that I've been using for years so doesn't really interest me. Good in an emergency, I presume (better than nothing if you just killed your car). In conclusion, the whole reason this place is getting a flat 3 stars is because it's just that. Flat & Average. It's on my way to and from work so convenience is so huge factor for me, and I will continue my patronage here simply because of it. For a fuel up I prefer either the mobil on olympic by crenshaw or the arco on vermont and santa monica. The later is probably my favourite now that I'm living in K-Town. My gas pump ran out of receipt tape, so my receipt with the car wash code did not print, also the car wash takes a long time once you enter the car wash Lane, there is no way to exit without getting a car wash so there can be five cars in front of you, there's nothing you can do. If you have time to waste the morning, then come here because you will lose about 15 minutes on your morning commute. I took my car in to the service station they told me my radiator needed to be replaced after spending over $400 to replace my radiator I drove my car not even 25 miles and it started to overheat again so I took it back in there and they told me it's your fan switch which is why your radiator overheated because your fan motor is not turning on so they told me to go ahead and order another fan switch and that they would take care of it for me I ordered the part $40 online did as instructed turkey back in there when I went to pick up my car they tried to charge me another $65 when I told them that I had spoken to another mechanic and the mechanic told me that while changing my radiator they should have checked the fan motor switch to make sure that the fan was in working order which is what would have caused my radiator to overheat so it should have been a part of the service To which can the manager just Shrugged his shoulder and said okay well then give me 60 I'm a little upset the fan switch literally was three wires I could have easily just connected that switch myself. I'm upset that they led me to believe that this was going to be a service that was included having overlooked it with the radiator so needless to say women beware take your car to Goodyear. They have won the prize for the most highly rated service among all women they don't take advantage of us they do a good job and they do preventive maintenance not just replacing of parts they actually figure out what caused the problem not just put a Band-Aid on it. Shame on you Shell. Seriously $65 for three little wires that came with wire connectors all I needed was a crimper!! read more
