Pumps never working. Bad customer service. All around a pain. They need a change of ownership/management.

At the end I thought they were gonna say they were done, instead they come back and tell me they messed up my oil plug, the oil is now leaking, and they can't even change my oil. They said I need to go to a mechanic and they can't fix it. I asked to speak to the manager, and he was polite about it, but made it sound like it was my truck's fault and not their's. He told me my oil pan was rusted and that's why the plug broke, and I would need a mechanic to replace the oil pan immediately as it was actively leaking oil. I took it to a mechanic that I trust and have used a bunch before, he and a 2nd mechanic both looked at it and said the oil pan is fine and not rusted at all, and their mechanics "cross-threaded" the plug, which means they put it in crooked and messed up the threading, and that's why it's leaking. Now the threads of my oil pan are unusable, so they have to try to re-thread the pan. But they said valvoline might have broken it completely. So I might have to replace the oil pan after all. What was supposed to be a 15 minute oil change turned into a few days of no vehicle, hours of my time, and who knows how much money it will cost me in the end.

Most shops see this thing pull up and suddenly everybody disappears to 'lunch,' but not here. Maria and Cesar handled it like absolute veterans. Maria was at the front desk looking so good I almost forgot why I came in there in the first place. Customer service was flawless she had the whole place running smoother than my truck after the service. Meanwhile Cesar looked like the final boss of diesel mechanics. Dude walked up to the truck like he'd wrestled lifted suspensions in hand-to-hand combat before breakfast. I'm pretty sure at one point they needed FAA clearance to work underneath my truck, but somehow they got the oil change and fuel filter done fast, clean, and without launching a socket into orbit. Truck came back running perfect, no leaks, no problems, and no 'check engine light surprise package' two miles later. Honestly Glendale Lube Center feels less like a lube shop and more like a Fast & Furious side quest. Great people, great vibes, and solid work. Maria and Cesar definitely made the experience legendary.

I took it in to a place AAA recommended in downtown LA and explain the issue. They told me I needed a new timing chain along with a whole bunch of other stuff and quotes me $4800 for it. This was preceded with a lot of scare tactics on what will happen if I don't have the work done, which came across as very used car salesman-ish. When I ran the quote through ChatGPT I was told they were charging me dealership pricing for an independent mechanic for that type of work in LA. So I brought the truck here to Speedway where I had Minor worked done before and had a good experience. They told me my bearings need to be replaced and did the work for lesson than a quarter of the price I was quoted at the other mechanic. Work was finished in a day and the truck has been running perfectly since then. Had I spent to 4800 at the place it wouldn't have even resolved the issue, which means I would've had to come out of the pocket even more after the initial work was done. Obviously a truck of this age is gonna have some problems and when they inevitably happen again I will be back here at Speedway to take care of them. Highly recommend this place for integrity, quality, efficiency and fair pricing.

I asked Armando what I should prioritize first, and instead of trying to upsell me into panic, he explained what actually mattered most right now and what could wait a little longer. I ended up paying around $430-ish for the wheel bearing repair and the difference is honestly insane. My car used to sound awful and feel stressed just existing on the road. Now it glides so smoothly it feels suspiciously close to an electric vehicle. Huge difference. What I appreciated most was the honesty. While I was there, another woman came in after an accident wanting to fix one cosmetic area near the tire. Armando explained why spending money only on that part wouldn't really solve the larger issue long term. You could tell she was disappointed because the bigger repair was expensive, but he genuinely didn't want her wasting money towing it to him..even if it could've been as easy sell. That kind of honesty is rare nowadays. He'll tell you the truth, even when it's not the answer people necessarily want to hear. Armando and Manuel were both professional, fair, and accommodating through the whole process. They even helped coordinate a third-party payment over the phone during a stressful situation for me, which helped more than they probably realize. I asked about future repairs for brakes/wheel bearing around $400ish. Tune up around $269.. Definitely bringing my car back here for future repairs.
