I'd gotten an extremely high quote from another Ashland mechanic and was considering doing the work myself. Valley View Auto Repair quoted a very fair - and much lower than the other outfit - price and were able to do the work the next day. When I picked up the car, the bill was less than they had quoted me, as the scope of needed work was less. And the car is perfect again! I really believe these are some honest mechanics that want to do right by their customers. I will be back next time something goes wrong with one of my cars.

The attendants seem friendly enough and the location is easily accessible from two sides of the intersection. It isn't nearly as easy to find off the freeway as the signs at the exit would have you believe. It is a good two miles from the freeway, so if you are in a rush, it would probably be better to go to a place close to the freeway on ramp/off ramp further down the road.

My 2009 Subaru Forester was in great condition beforehand. The damage happened here. I told the employee at the booth, who called over the assistant manager, Tyler. Tyler was rude and combative from the start. He handed me an incident report with a disclaimer stating the business isn't responsible for damage to cars over 10 years old. I refused to sign it. He also refused to give me contact information for the general manager or any insurance information, and instead gave me the phone number for a different location across town. When I called it, I spoke to two more "assistant managers" who said I'd have to wait for the actual manager before anything could move forward. Total runaround. If a business damages a customer's car, that should be handled between insurance companies, not decided unilaterally by the business that caused the damage. Of course they're going to say it's not their fault. I ended up waiting in the parking lot for over an hour for the general manager, Dustin, to show up. When he finally arrived, he walked straight to my car and started inspecting and touching the damaged bumper without a word. No introduction, no acknowledgment that I was right there. I was alone in the back of that parking lot with two men telling me their business wasn't responsible for damage they caused, and Dustin's whole demeanor made it clear he had no intention of being cordial about it. When I pointed out that he hadn't even introduced himself before putting his hands on my car, his response was, "If this is how we're starting off, it's not going to end well." That's not how a manager should speak to a customer, period. It came across as a thinly veiled threat, not customer service. He was short, dismissive, and clearly agitated that I'd pushed back at all, like I was the problem for expecting basic decency after his business damaged my property. At no point did he attempt to de-escalate, apologize, or treat the situation with any professionalism. If your business damages a customer's vehicle, the bare minimum is: reimburse the cost of the service that caused the damage, treat the customer with respect, and carry insurance to cover it. Instead, I got aggression and intimidation from the person in charge. Worst $11 I've ever spent. Dustin and Tyler both need serious training in how to handle conflict without becoming hostile toward customers.

Unfortunately, the filter they put in slipped and fell onto the oil pan, causing our transmission to completely fail. We were left with a $7,000 repair bill to replace the transmission. When we brought this to their attention--referencing the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act they even advertise on their website--they took zero responsibility. Instead of standing behind their service, they left us with the damage and the cost. We always try to support local shops, but when a business does you dirty like this, it's just wrong. We stood behind them as a customer, but in the end, we got the short end of the stick. If you value your vehicle and your money, think twice before trusting this shop.

We were on a road trip and realized we needed new tires for our van . The previous evening we had…read morecontacted two different Costco locations in the area who advised us they did not have the tires we would need in stock. We arrived at this Les Schwab location at 10 am on a weekday as walk in. They stated that they did have the tires that we needed and showed us some options. They also let us know that it might be quite a wait because they had a full day of appointments. We completely understood. Not only did their lobby have air conditioning, free Wi-Fi and clean bathrooms, but they also had a coffee station and were offering free popcorn. I have no idea if that is an all the time thing or not but just in case it's not, they had vending machines inside as well. I thought it was a lovely touch. In addition, they allowed us to bring our small dog inside to wait with us. I love how dog friendly they are. It worked out very well for us for the first hour or so and then a few other people came in with their dogs. A gentleman with a small dog came in and sat down on the other side of the lobby from us and that was fine but then a woman with two large dogs sat next to us and it just wasn't working out very well so I waited the rest of the time outside in the shade with my dog while my husband finished up some work on his laptop in the lobby. Those sort of things happen when you are traveling with pets. They finished up with our van right around 12:00 and the price was completely reasonable. I definitely feel safer with the new tires on and we haven't had any issues. They knew we were not from the area and explained to us that we can go into any location near our home to have the tires rotated as needed. Based on our experience this is a great place to stop. I have read the ridiculous one star review for this location and it is clear that the person who wrote it was the problem and not the business. I also tried to report it and have it removed but I understand that Yelp does not want to invalidate anyone's experience, no matter how out of touch with reality they may be. I'm sure anyone else reading these can see that as well, but it's unfortunate that one person is ruining the rating for a very good shop.

I tried 2 Costcos in the area and they didn't have my tire size in stock. I stopped by this Les Schwab and they had the tires I needed. The employee was super helpful and showed me the tires that fit my vehicle. I was a walk in that morning and they were able to install my new tires for me. Total time was about an hour and 40 minutes which is really good. They had a big waiting area in super clean bathrooms and they also had free popcorn and coffee. I was able to wait inside the waiting area with my dog while they installed my tires. Definitely a great place to go when you need new tires and don't have to pay sales tax.
