We also stop at this I-5 Arco on the way out, as it seems to have the "cheapest" gas. This time around, gas prices on the Oregon side seemed to be a bit higher than California, which is a switch. However, the big bonus in this "mini-serve" environment was that the guy at the pumps actually washed my windows and did a really good job!

They have a nice convenience store, drive through car wash and if the mood strikes there is a fancy cannabis shop across the street that usually has a food truck parked in front. This is our stop for gas and restroom break when we travel through the area. Clean restrooms and reasonably priced gas. Worth the stop!

I brought my Honda CRV in…read morefor a simple oil change, and they somehow managed to run the car battery down to zero (turned on the electrical system and forgot to turn it off?), then failed to reset the onboard computer so my radio and everything else stopped working, and then during the tire rotation they didn't check the label inside the driver side door, and inflated the tires to the wrong pressure, triggering a low tire pressure indicator. I had to go back three times to get these issues fixed. And then, to add insult to injury, they did not have any windshield wiper fluid on the premises, and they did not reduce the bill to account for all of these problems. Do NOT recommend.

I'd gotten an extremely high quote from another Ashland mechanic and was considering doing the work myself. Valley View Auto Repair quoted a very fair - and much lower than the other outfit - price and were able to do the work the next day. When I picked up the car, the bill was less than they had quoted me, as the scope of needed work was less. And the car is perfect again! I really believe these are some honest mechanics that want to do right by their customers. I will be back next time something goes wrong with one of my cars.

As I was going inside to get the key, a woman who was standing outside smoking a cigarette yelled over "you can't use the bathroom unless you buy something". There is no sign to that effect and the nice man at the register handed me the key without a question. When I came back out she followed me inside and I decided that I wouldn't buy anything after that, thanked the gentleman and headed to the car. She proceeded to yell at the employee. My point to this is, how did she know I wasn't going to buy anything? And given the number of times we have bought gas from them and never used the bathroom is probably around 11-12.
