I brought my Honda CRV in…read morefor a simple oil change, and they somehow managed to run the car battery down to zero (turned on the electrical system and forgot to turn it off?), then failed to reset the onboard computer so my radio and everything else stopped working, and then during the tire rotation they didn't check the label inside the driver side door, and inflated the tires to the wrong pressure, triggering a low tire pressure indicator. I had to go back three times to get these issues fixed. And then, to add insult to injury, they did not have any windshield wiper fluid on the premises, and they did not reduce the bill to account for all of these problems. Do NOT recommend.

My son's vehicle fried a radiator (see review this page) and while he was letting it cool I offered to locate a mechanic. When I called they said to have him bring it in and they would help him out. Over the years as I was transferred to new commands in the service I have broken down in various cities and was taken to the cleaners. There was none of that at Southern Oregon Automotive. They were able to get him in and out at a very fair price. I mean extremely fair. I can not recommend them more highly!

They have now charged $4000+ for various things, and HAVE STILL NOT FIXED WHAT I ASKED THEM TO FIX. They either argue, and pretend they know better, or ignore me completely. I have ran the problem through every AI and got the same answer, I've talked to 17 mechanics, all agreed that the issue was what I told them. But these scammers, refuse to do their job. On top of that, I dropped it off with a full tank of gas, took them over a month to get it back to me, and the gas tank was empty? There's no explanation for a full tank of gas to be gone, with them just doing test drives or starting it to idle, they clearly did something else that used a full tank of gas, in a car that's extremely fuel efficient. I'd gotten an extremely high quote from another Ashland mechanic and was considering doing the work myself. Valley View Auto Repair quoted a very fair - and much lower than the other outfit - price and were able to do the work the next day. When I picked up the car, the bill was less than they had quoted me, as the scope of needed work was less. And the car is perfect again! I really believe these are some honest mechanics that want to do right by their customers. I will be back next time something goes wrong with one of my cars.
