Early morning appointment at Sheehy Ford Richmond to have our 2021 AWD Gemini 23TE motor home built on a 2021 AWD Ford Transit 350HD chassis aligned and differentials serviced. The service department was clean, well staffed and very organized. My paperwork was ready when I signed in for my 10:15AM appointment: However the AC was so damn cold in the waiting room at Sheehy Ford I had to buy a $34 Ford Hoodie to stay warm, lol!! Highly recommended them. read more

Horrible customer service in the service department. Guys are very rude and dismissive. Wait times are a lot longer than they gave an estimate for and there was no sense of urgency at all. If you are considering buying a Ford, go to any other dealership except thia one. Ive never had a good experience here. When i arrived I let them know I wanted to use the shuttle. He said it was already out, as if it was just not coming back. They let me sit outside for over 2 hours waiting on the shuttle. It came back about an hr into me waiting and they just let it leave. Then we I asked about it, they said it was getting cleaned. Wtf is rhe purpose of the shuttle if y'all dont want anyone to use it. I anticipated getting my errands done while I waited which not only didn't happen but I ended up waiting an hour longer than anticipated. They didnt care at all and completely ignored by requested for an update on when my car would be done. They simply dismissed me by saying soon. read more

I strongly recommend that customers take their business elsewhere rather than purchase or service a vehicle at Sheehy Ford of Richmond. After what our family has experienced, I no longer believe this dealership has earned the trust of its customers. My elderly grandmother is a longtime Sheehy customer and VIP member. She was driving within her lane in Sheehy Ford of Richmond's service bay when a transport vehicle operated by 4 Shores Transporting and Logistix LLC (USDOT #3218336) opened its door into her lane of travel. Instead of what we believe should have been a transparent and impartial handling of the incident, the transport company is attempting to place responsibility on my grandmother, and the manner in which Sheehy Ford of Richmond has handled this situation has caused our family to seriously question the dealership's honesty and integrity. We have been provided photographs of damage to the transport vehicle, but no video evidence establishing that my grandmother caused this accident has been presented to us. Individuals identified as witnesses, employees of the dealership, have provided accounts supporting the dealership and transport company. Based on how this unfolded, we have serious concerns about whether these accounts were developed independently and whether this matter was handled objectively. From our perspective, the dealership and transport company have closed ranks around a version of events that places responsibility on an elderly customer, while ignoring the fundamental issue: the transport vehicle's door was opened into the lane in which she was already traveling in the service bay to which they are saying there is no video evidence. If Sheehy Ford of Richmond has surveillance footage covering the service bay, that footage should be preserved immediately, along with incident reports, photographs, witness statements, communications with 4 Shores Transporting and Logistix LLC, internal communications concerning the incident, and all other relevant records. Our family will be seeking legal counsel to review the circumstances of this accident, the available evidence, the witness accounts, and the conduct of the parties involved, including employees who gave statements. What makes this especially disappointing is that this happened to a longtime Sheehy VIP customer. Years of loyalty apparently did not result in the honesty, transparency, fairness, or customer advocacy we expected when she needed it most. For that reason, I cannot recommend Sheehy Ford of Richmond to other customers. Take your business elsewhere. There are plenty of dealerships competing for your business, and customers should spend their money with a company they can trust to treat them fairly when something goes wrong. Trust is earned through honesty and integrity. Based on our family's experience, Sheehy Ford of Richmond has lost ours and should lose yours as well. read more

I've always expected better from Sheehy, but this recent experience was really disappointing. They picked up my truck using their valet service, which I thought was a great convenience at first. However, they got it to the dealership first thing in the morning, but I was told at around 5pm when I was supposed to have it back they didn't have the parts in stock. That's fine -- it happens -- but instead of letting me know so I could get the car back and use it until they had the parts, they kept my vehicle sitting there for a full day doing nothing. This is both my work and personal vehicle, so that lack of communication really put me in a bind. When I finally got the truck back over two days later, the driver dropped it off with only 4 miles of gas left until empty. I don't expect anyone to fill up my tank, but come on -- at least add a couple ounces of gas so the customer can make it to a station safely. I barely made it there, pulling in with 1 mile to go and the truck sputtering. Who thinks that's acceptable service? My company paid a lot of money for new tires and a full 40k service. After spending that kind of money, I shouldn't have to worry about running out of gas right after getting my vehicle back. This experience really made me lose a lot of respect for Sheehy. read more

I found the car I wanted to buy specifically at Sheehy Ford in Richmond Virginia and so I made contact with James Vance and Stockton. I filled out the credit application and was approved for the 2026 Mustang GT Premium. I flew in from out of state (California) and James actually picked me up from the airport early the next morning. We went straight to the dealership where I made my purchase. I'm taking the time to write this review because from the moment I began this journey with James and Stockton, it was the "absolute" best customer service that I've ever received. These guys were amazing and I must add that the entire staff there was great. I'm a 60 year old man who pays close attention to the way I'm treated especially when I'm about to spend my hard earned money. I have nothing but great things to say about these guys (James and Stockton) along with the entire staff there at Sheehy Ford of Richmond Virginia as the entire atmosphere was warm, professional and inviting. I'd definitely recommend to anyone considering buying a Ford to come here where you won't get pressured but you will be treated the absolute best by James, Stockton and the entire team there at Sheehy Ford of Richmond Virginia. Because of my amazing experience I'll fly in again and again for all my future purchases (by the way this was Mustang #7, I think I like Mustangs). Thanks again to James and Stockton. read more

I wish I had taken the time to read the reviews before going to this dealer. From day one, everything was handled the wrong way. They rush you through signing a bunch of documents on a screen and only care about getting your signature--not about explaining what you're actually being charged for. Big mistake: do not accept your paperwork on a USB drive. Demand printed copies so you can clearly see the charges. Once you sign, their attitude completely changes. Calls go unanswered, and they suddenly have no interest in helping you. The salesperson and finance department work together in a way that feels very misleading and dishonest. I even paid out of pocket to have a diagnostic done at another shop, and they still refused to address the issues with the car. It honestly feels like they are just trying to run out the dealer warranty so they don't have to fix anything. Stay away from this dealer. Especially avoid Robbie Childres and the woman who pushes the undercoating and the so-called ceramic coating protection--it's cheap, misleading, and feels like a scam. Save yourself the stress and take your business somewhere else. read more

I want to thank the team at Sheehy Ford for the way they handled my recent visit. I had brought my car in with some concerns and was already feeling unsure about what I might be dealing with. When I came to pick it up, I noticed something was different from when I dropped it off, so I raised the issue. My service advisor, Stephen, told me to leave the car and that he would have his manager look at it the next day. The service manager called me the following day and asked me to explain my concern. He listened carefully, let me walk through everything, and never interrupted once. I appreciated that alone. In situations like this, you are often made to feel like you're litigating while being gaslit. The manager, Steven, didn't challenge anything I said. He simply told me he would call me back once he reviewed it. What happened next is what truly stood out. They took ownership of the situation and resolved the problem at no charge. There was no runaround, no excuses, and no pressure. Just straightforward, standup service and a real commitment to making things right. Because of how they handled that moment, I left with complete confidence in their shop. Their integrity, reliability, and customer care are unlike anything I've experienced with a repair center. Sheehy Ford earned my trust, and I'm grateful for the way they treated me. I highly recommend their service center. Because of how stand up they were and how rare that is in today's world, I can't stress enough their integrity. They are an honest group of people you can count on. read more

**Day 76 Update: Damage to My 2023 F150 Lightning** I finally picked up my vehicle from Shore Collision on 10/14/2024, 76 days after the Sheehy Ford of Richmond mechanic crashed it into a wall. While I'm thrilled to have my truck back, I'm still facing a few issues with Sheehy Ford and their insurance company. These include the receipt of quarter turn pins in the frunk, and final payments for repairs, diminished value, and out-of-pocket expenses that have been agreed to. Based on my experience, I strongly advise against using Sheehy Ford of Richmond for any maintenance and repairs of vehicles. They do Bait and Switch on their prices and call it "computer" errors even though its their Ford site with prices. We just bought a vehicle from Sheehy Ford on Midlothian Turnpike, and we felt like this experience deserved a good review to balance things out! Isaiah was absolutely wonderful to work with - knowledgeable, patient, and zero pressure (yes, really). He let us take our time, do our research, and never once hovered or tried to "close the deal." When we were finally ready, he made himself available without hesitation. It's rare to find someone who genuinely listens and makes the process feel this easy. Then came Dino in finance, who turned out to be a familiar face! He helped us with a purchase over 11 years ago at another Sheehy location. Same friendly, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable experience all these years later...clearly a pro who knows his stuff. Start to finish, everything was smooth, transparent, and actually enjoyable. If you've been reading through reviews wondering if there are any good experiences here...there are. Ours was one of them! read more

First you can't make a service appointment with the dealership, had to either work with a non person or a person ( which I did) in another state. Set up the appointment and needed to request shuttle service to get home after I dropped off the car on Saturday for a Monday service appointment. I had a very crowded week coming up so this was the only option I had. When I arrived the first issue was that the appointment coordinator didn't have the correct service I had requested-ok not a big issue, gave the service info, then asked where I wait for the shuttle service-no we don't have shuttle service on Saturday but I was set up for that service when I made the Monday service appointment, Hands up-sorry we don't have Saturday shuttle service, but this is the only day this week i can drop off, hands up-sorry. Can I set up the car pickup for Monday, hands up-sorry that can only be done with the dealership office staff and they don't work on Saturday. So open but not able to do your service work. My change oil light is on can that wait through this week until I can be without the car. Hands up- can't tell you that. Also said I didnt know what oil is used during an oil change as I just inherited this car from my dad, has he had service here? No he lived in New York and was serviced at a Ford dealership there, hands-up then I can't tell you, what? Horrible customer care and service. So want to waste time-try Sheehy Ford. If in New York Port Jeff Ford (formerly Ramp Motors) great option. read more

I must say that I am thankful for the experience I had a Sheehy Ford of Richmond. Between a low-balling salesman and manager, they pushed me to another Ford dealer in Richmond that treated us with respect and offered fair value for our trade. Maybe if you all were fairer in providing competitive trade in values rather than insulting low-ball offers, you would have had one less Red Explorer ST on your lot! To potential customers, I will warn you that they offer low prices on their cars but try to make it up in offering almost 10k less than actual trade in value! Do your homework before going. Also, they turned down the CarMax trade-in. We pulled a CarMax trade-in offer through their app on the phone to show Sheehy Ford were still too low on their offer. We were told that they would not accept it since it was not actually taken to CarMax. Offered to take it to CarMax. The sales rep went outside to talk to his manager and it looked like they got into a heated discussion over it. He came back and said they would still not accept it. At this point, we decided to walk out. Went to Richmond Ford and Lincoln in which they were respectful to us, accepted the CarMax value, and even beat Sheehy Fords offer on a brand new 2025 Explorer ST. Simply put, if you go to these shysters at Sheehy Ford, be ready to bend over as they will attempt to take more. To Sheehy... You are the type of dealership that makes Ford Motor Company look bad and should have your contract with Ford revoked. read more

My husband and I have been trying for a couple of weeks to schedule service for our RV. He was told over the phone that your location does not service RVs, even though Camping World referred us to your Ashland site as the closest facility for RV service. Today, we happened to pass by your location and noticed several RVs parked in the lot. This prompted me to call again. I spoke with Ms. Janet, who was professional and courteous. I requested to be transferred to the service department three times. Each time, the call was transferred but not answered -- and on the final attempt, the call was hung up. Ms. Janet kindly apologized and assured me that the service department was open and operating until 4:00 PM today. However, this experience has left us frustrated and confused by the conflicting information and lack of follow-through. We would appreciate clear communication on whether your Ashland location services RVs and, if so, guidance on how to schedule an appointment. Thank you for your time and attention. read more

This place is horrible! They are rude and unprofessional. They have a horrible sales tactic. They make u wait for hours and never give a price or trade in price. After hours of being ran in circles I stood my ground and said "GOVE ME A FINAL PRICE AFTER TRADE IN" Still no answer, yet a mechanic came onto the sales floor trying to be barbaric and bully me as if he were a coming out of a drunken stupor. We realize they have taken my husband's truck and already moved it w/o any permission or consent. We said we are Leaving this place is unprofessional. The mechanic on the sales floor, which he should have never of been to begin with started screaming at me to get out! I was shocked and said what? I already said I was leaving?? He only became more aggressive I was scared and I Even dropped my drink due to my MS. He continued to yell at me until my husband put his hand up and said STOP! This place is not to on the up and up. It's filled with lies and con artist tactics and when they don't get what they want they gaslight the consumer then even get aggressive and scary. I do NOT know what I would have done if my husband hadn't been w/ me. It was a terrible experience. DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE! read more

I would not recommend this business to anyone. They don't communicate with you regarding your vehicle. I had to reach out to them to get an update. We brought our vehicle in to get our turbo checked out and was then told it was our transmission which would cost $8000 to replace. We took our vehicle to another mechanic and another ford dealership for second opinion and both of them told us our transmission was completely fine. Our service technician, Nick S., knew his customer service was terrible and told my husband that a bad review would impact his commission. Their staff are completely unprofessional. read more

Sheehy Ford of Richmond - Doing an oil change and also did 2 recalls. - Car Dealers Near Me - Richmond, Virginia

I am very upset with Sheehy. I own a 2018 Mustang GT I bring it to this location because I am TIRED of Ashland Sheehy. Worst customer service there, stole my wheel lock key and admitted it, the technician who did was fired/quit. But I will not get into that right now. I took my car to Midlothian about 3 weeks ago for an oil change, tire rotation and multi point inspection. I was told that my tie rod was "about to snap off" "I don't know how you can drive this" I told them that my car has driven fine besides a small tap that you barely ever heard, only really if it was snowing/icy/cold. It drove straight, no shake, nothing. I questioned how it passed a multi point inspection if it was supposedly "that bad" and clearly had been like that for months? It was brushed off. I could not afford to fix it right then and the man said it would be safe to drive home but nothing more. After leaving my car drove Amazing. No tapping, aligned, etc. I also had supposedly gotten an oil change like scheduled. THEY NEVER PUT OIL BACK IN MY CAR! My oil PSI was at 0-10 and when I checked my dipstick, it was CLEAN. It took 2 jugs of oil to fill my car enough to hit the line on the dipstick! I called and mentioned this to a service representative and I was brushed to the side saying that was not possible. Now something else is wrong! A week later and my oil PSI is dropping 0-10, my dipstick barely has oil on it. There is no leak on the ground but something is not right! Beware of this business, they make you feel like you know nothing (even when you do) and also seem to up charge. Also watched a man try and push a very old lady into up charges in lobby. Telling her she CANNOT buy windshield wipers at other stores cause they don't work and that she NEEDS to change them. She was so confused and clearly being worked over. If Sheehy can find a solution then maybe they will get a better review. If not a corporate call awaits. read more

I had my car in for service and Nick Singler was so great to work with. he took great care of our car. I will keep coming back.

Car was in for state inspection and check engine light. All was fixed ontime and within reason.

Regret buying from this dealer. They are rude, totally not helpful and charge you a fortune to test if it is covered under warranty before they will even tell you if it is a warranty repair. Total scam! They will upsell you every other sentence. They do not care about the customer, just their money. read more

Customers and future car buyers beware... I dropped my truck off May 6, 2025, prior to the service center opening for routine maintenance, an oil change and a tire rotation. When I completed the work envelope, I also asked them to inspect the back tire on the driver's side. I was concerned because that tire had been losing about 10 pounds of pressure every 2-3 days. They called when the truck was ready, and I headed up there to pick it up. I asked if they had found anything wrong with the tire and I was told everything was fine; there was nothing wrong with it. Fast forward to May 10, 2025, I was alerted by the dash light that my tire was low on pressure again. So, after work I decided to take my truck to Discount tire, basically for a second opinion. I explained to them that I had been at Sheehy four days ago and was assured that nothing was wrong with my tire. The advisor was quick to help. They pulled my truck into the bay and right away noticed a problem. There was a 2-inch-long drill bit embedded in that tire. Of course, they pulled it out, gave it to me, patched my tire, and sent me on my way. For Discount tire near Costco this is a great review, the staff were friendly and kind, but most importantly very helpful. On my way home I stopped at Sheehy and did NOT get the same helpfulness. I showed the Service Advisor the 2-inch drill bit and said that I was annoyed at the fact that just four days ago they did not see the drill bit. Did they even look? My paperwork does not show my concern nor that it was examined. The response that I received from Sheehy's employee, Alan Lathrope, left me in shock. He looked at the drill bit and said, "Wow I'm sorry that IS big, you can make a necklace out of that" and then proceeded to walked away and left me standing there. I couldn't believe his response. No apology or accountability, I left more furious than when I arrived at his lack of concern or responsibility for his technicians. As the weekend progressed, I became more distraught with the idea of what could have happened - what if the tire had blown causing me to have an accident and potentially hurt myself or someone else. Therefore, I went back on Monday, May 12, 2025, to speak to the Director of the service department, Chad Ritenour. He was not immediately available, but the service counter called him to let him know that I would like to speak to him and he said he would be up momentarily. I waited and waited but there was no sign of Mr. Ritenour. I am certain that his time is precious, just as mine is, and I was forced to walk out. All of that to say Sheehy didn't mind taking my hard-earned money when I purchased a brand-new truck from them 2 1/2 years ago, but then they just wash their hands of me. They exhibited such a lack of ethics and do right by the customer. I am appalled. Their responses and actions, or lack thereof, show how much pride they have in their work, employees, and customer satisfaction. Sheehy Ford, you must do better. read more

0 STARS...DO NOT RECOMMEND. Took my vehicle in because all of my brake lights were on. The said it would be $190 to diagnosis. Came back with one thing, added something else and charged me a little over $3100. Paid an Uber to pick it up and pick up my car and behold, all the lights were still on. Never made it out of the parking lot. Was told to leave it again, was sent a video of the code showing I need a module, but the part was on national backorder and it could be weeks or months before I get it. My issue is how was that code not detected before you charged me $3100+ for a car to now sit in my driveway until the part comes (if it ever comes). I was told it was perfectly safe to drive but there is no way that is safe. Now I am out of whatever down payment money I would have had to get another car but I didn't get the news until after they took my money. I feel so cheated. I also feel they knew if they told me the car could not be properly and completely repaired until the part comes I would not have had anything done. Apparently this issue is common with this vehicle and even Sheehy Ford of Midlothian doesn't have the part so I feel they knew or should have known this issue when it first came in. They're Ford experts right? I have a call into the service manager now (voicemail, of course). We all know how that is going to go with all of my concerns being dismissed and that I'm wrong, yada yada and they are just spending my money while my car just sits for who knows how long. 0 STARS, DO NOT RECOMMEND read more
