Just got a haircut today by Ashley. This was my first time here and I arrived about 20 minutes after they opened as a walk-in. They were able to accommodate me quickly, which was very nice since they are mainly doing appointments only with COVID. They shampoo your hair before cutting. I had super long hair and asked Ashley to cut it just below my shoulders. She did exactly what I wanted and it came out nice! Great first experience with them. The ladies here are super friendly! ONLY PLACE I WILL GO TO... I've been coming here for years and never had a single problem. From the time of my first visit till now I have always felt welcome. I am very picky and specific when it comes to my hair because of the way it grows and they get it right every time and will not let me leave until I am happy with it. They even remember the way I like it cut now. I have been to the nearby fancy cuts when I was desperate for a hair cut and can tell you that I will never go back because of the way I was treated there. I waited patiently while a stylist was sitting in her chair ignoring me but left after getting annoyed with the service. AVOID THIS PLACE!!! Worst haircut I have ever received in my life! I walked in a about 5-6 months back and was told to sign in and wait to be called. The wait time was short, maybe 15 min and thought I was lucky getting called so fast. The lady (I forgot her name but her booth is on the right hand side when you walk in) took me to wash my hair which I thought was nice and then asked very general questions about how I wanted my hair cut. I told her I wanted a "V" shaped cut with lots of layers throughout since I have very little and fine hair and need to add volume to my hair. She told me she used to be a manager for 7-8 years at Super Cuts or some other place so I had confidence she would do a good job with my hair. After I told her what I wanted, she quickly cut my hair in less than 15 min! My hair was still soaking wet by the time she finished. She gave me a mirror and had me look at my hair but being that it was still wet, I could not tell how the cut really turned out. I said it was fine because I didn't want to complain then I paid and tipped her pretty well because I'm the type that always tips and left. Upon arriving home and drying out my hair, I could see how terrible my hair really was. Choppy, uneven layers at the bottom only. No wonder she didn't dry out my hair or else I would have seen how bad it really was. I called to complain about my cut and asked for a return and told them they can keep the tip but I should not have to pay for a cut this horrible. They refused of course and told me to come back and they will have another person fix my hair but after that experience I never wanted to step foot in that salon again. They didn't even consider the inconvenience of me having to drive all the way back there a second time. I'm a full time nursing student with a very limited income at the moment but I guess they needed my money more than I did. I went to a different place to have my hair fixed and that place took an hour just for a cut and it turned out 100 times better than this dump. Please do not waste your hard earned money here. You have been warned. read more

I walked in for a hair cut at 11am and was seen in 5 minutes. Got Stephanie and I wanted a short bob. My hair was previously cut somewhere else and was messed up. I wasn't happy before. But Stephanie cut it the way I wanted and she was very kind. She asked for my concern and cut it carefully to make sure it was the way I wanted. So, because I felt so comfortable with her, I decided to color my hair lighter but she had an appt so told me to come back at 2pm. I got home and ate lunch and called to book a 2pm appt in case she wasn't available. I went back at 2pm to color my hair. My hair was black from a box dyed back in September 2019. Stephanie told me what she'll be doing to achieved the reddish color. It turned out the way I wanted!! I was sooo happy. First visit and I'm happy. I will be coming back for Stephanie! We moved here from Dallas where I absolutely loved my hair salon, and I wasn't familiar with any stylists in Clovis. Someone mentioned Shear Magic to me and I am so thankful they did. I called on a Sunday at noon and Sadie told me to come in and she would help me. Sadie is excellent, she listened to my concerns, looked over my hair and gave me very good advice. I have been coming to this salon for 2 years with my 3 children who are all different special needs children. I have had an experience with every single one of the stylist at the clovis location and have always had a pleasant experience and quality service. I am shocked to see the negative reviews on here for this place. I hope we don't have to start as customers signing liability waivers just to have our families hair cut. I enjoy the freedom to be able to choose what I do with my hair or not and where to do it. It is true you can't please everybody but we as individuals have the choice to accept it for what it is and move forward. It takes less energy to smile than frown and anger will eat people alive like a cancer. It starts small and grows. Life is short. Please don't judge people by what others perceptions are. I went in to the Fresno salon without an appointment. I wanted to get highlights and a haircut, but since I didn't make an appointment and there were already 2 customers getting highlights, I was given a haircut but asked to come back when the "machine" was available in an hour.
