My experience was great. I went at around 5pm with my husband. The vibe was chill, and we didn't have to wait for anyone. I got a wash and cut. The lady was very nice and accommodating. Best shampoo Ive had in a while. I showed my stylist a reference picture and she took around 7 minutes to cut my hair exactly like the picture. I was astounded! Thats so rare to happen. The stars were aligned I guess. I had some questions about haircare and my concerns and my stylist happily gave me what I needed, I bought what was recommended. Getting a haircut can be very scary and nerve wracking but regardless we need to trust a hairdresser that we get this done without regret . We like when we get a great deal . BUT, sometimes the kindness of someone behind the counter is more valuable to our heart than the value to our wallets . I have 3 kids and this is the only salon they've ever been too, definitely recommend. It's purely walk ins, which is convenient most of the time as my schedule is very erratic. A long wait for us was never more than half an hour. The women are sweet, careful, and accommodating. As with any hair cut request, we often show pictures or make sure to show concretely where we would like the hair to fall and they always follow to a T. Decided to return after my first visit here, but I really regret doing so. I came in for a full color because I had a coupon I received last time. When I called to schedule my appointment I asked for how much it would be so I could plan. The woman on the phone said it would be $44 and then another $9 for a blow dry given the length of my hair. So I scheduled and came in for my service. At the end of my service I ended up being charged $64 (not including tip) even after applying the $10 off coupon I had. I don't understand why the prices were suddenly different once I was there since I was not informed about any changes. Also to add more disappoint to my experience, I returned home to find that she didn't even wash all of the dye out of my hair. I had blow dried hair dye all underneath by my neck and in my hairline. So now I will have to wash my AGAIN and completely wasted the blow dry I paid for. I know you shouldn't expect much when going to discounted salons, but I feel like my service was so routine, I didn't request anything special. Horrible place! I wanted layers and a cut and I was there for 2 hours! I understand we have to wait due to Covid which is completely fine but the lady had me in the chair for an hour and a half. When she first started talking to me she was holding my hair with scissors in her hand. I assume she talks with her hands because she was waving her hands around so much that she cut herself and a piece of my hair. She treated her wound and came back to start on my hair. Well I have been trying to get a haircut with the Covid situation going on and it has not been easy haircuts have not even been allowed for at least four or five months. I called one place to get a haircut and the place was called dope and when I got there they were not only rude to me but they told me I didn't have an appointment which I own a business I know and I called them and made an appointment. I called haircuts plus because they were next on the Google list and when I called them the lady was very polite with me and I was very flustered but I immediately drove over to haircuts Plus in order to get my haircut after many months of neglect. Ladies at the haircuts plus location here could not have been nicer to me they were all extremely friendly and the woman then I got the haircut from her name was Nora she's been cutting are about 10 years. Nora took me from looking like a Wookie in Star Wars 2 looking like a real person again and I can actually go out and meet clients and things like that because I look presentable and I have to say if anybody needs a haircut if I'm a man is looking for a haircut or even a woman you should try haircuts plus here on North Milburn right near Herndon Avenue read more

What can I say about this place... been coming here for years...for myself and my family. The place is clean. The staff are amazing!! They have tons of top of the line products available and are totally knowledgeable in hair care. Let me say this. This place deserves major kudos when it comes to dealing with kids...and I'm not just talking about any kids, I'm talking about my kids. My kids can be total angels, one visit...and then be a stylists challenge for the day the next visit. When it comes to certain clippers, my boys become major wiggle worms because they're so ticklish, which can make it totally hard for the stylist to get those perfect straight lines that they're aiming for, but let me tell you! These girls definitely know how to handle it! My boys always leave the chair looking 10x's better than when they first sat down. So if you're reading this because you are looking for a local spot for a haircut at a great price, yes, this is your place! I have never had a bad experience here. I went here on Monday april 12th for a haircut. Before I could finish telling the stylist what I wanted to do with my hair, she had already made the first cut. My hair was down to my waist and i regularly grow my hair out this long in order to donate it to locks of love. I was in the process of explaining the shape I wanted and before I could even mention that I'd be donating it she cut it. I was boiling. I remained silent through the entire cut because I knew it was too late and she had already began doing whatever she felt like. After sitting through her hitting me in the head with her water bottle and incessantly singing along to the song on the radio she shoved a mirror in my hand to explain what she did and I just put the mirror down and asked her if she was done. I got up to pay and as she rang me up, I explained to my mother that joined me, for what I hoped would be a fulfilling experience of donating hair I spent so long growing, that I was upset, the woman tried to come around the counter and explain again what she did and reached for my hair and I told her not to touch me. She then went back and finished the transaction. No I did not feel the need to tip and I believe that by seeing that I didn't, she was upset. When I told her I didn't like what she did, she quickly responded with "thank you" and walked away so we left. I don't recommend returning unless you are familiar with the person cutting your hair. I'll now wait another year to grow my hair out long enough to donate again. I did manage to find another Salon that offered to fix the uneven cut and told me this wasn't their first time hearing bad reviews from this particular location. I hope the staff will take this into consideration. The stylist didn't give a name but was tall with what looked like moused black curly hair and extremely heavy black eyeliner. This was a very unfortunate experience. And I'm sad to say I was in a bit of tears leaving this salon. read more

Stephanie did my hair and she was great! So sweet and professional. I really did not want to bleach my hair to get a lighter color and she was so honest with me and told me how bad it would be instead of pushing it on me to make that extra money. Instead she took a sample of my hair and tried a color on it that wouldn't require bleach and it came out great so I did my entire hair that color. She was quick and efficient. While I waited for my color she cut 3 different people's hair while making sure I was okay. Great customer service! read more

It is possible to give negative stars? Just wondering. I have straight fine hair, pretty simple to cut. I asked for a framing to my face (layers), with a trim for the back of my hair, and a trim for my bangs. My bangs usually have to be cut dry, I notified them of this before we started. The stylist washed my hair, did the trim, however wanted to charge me $3 extra dollars to simply blow dry JUST my bangs in order to cut them. The stylist was a nice woman and was honestly trying her best. The manager, on schedule that day, was ridiculous. I asked him why I wasn't notified of this charge when I first sat down and told them my bangs had to be cut dry. The manager ignored me for a long while, shifting between the front desk and her back office, however not providing me with an answer. I usually go to Spectrum or Planet Hair and they are amazing, I just couldn't get an appointment short notice. Yes, these places are more expensive, but technically with a "blow drying charge" for bangs, Hair Cuts Plus is the same price as Planet Hair. Planet Hair has AMAZING service. Planet Hair's management or anyone working there puts their clients first and has great customer. read more

I have waist length hair and have gone it seems like everywhere in my lifetime, spectrum, Preen, and other private boutique salons and finally ending with the last 2 years at Supercuts really trying to scrape the bottom of the barrel to find someone who could do A great long length layer, and I've finally found the one! 1st time i ever went i had no issues. The 2nd time i went wasn't so good. I went to to get my hair touched up and I was unaware in the process of getting the dye off around my hairline that she went past my hairline while rubbing way too hard saying the dye wasn't coming off but ended up with a small patch of hair missing around my hairline. They claimed that there was no hair in that spot but if there wasn't hair why is there still hair in that spot? I go in the next day (wasn't following Covid-19 protocol either because there's suppose to be only 3 in the waiting room and there was over 5 people there) and was told that's where my hairline is and i know it wasn't because i would have to take my sideburns off now in order for it too match up with the hairline. Left small spots of dye on my face and ears. Paid $65 for it. Definitely will not be going to that location anymore. read more

My hair is uneven though :( I didn't notice in the salon as my hair was still wet, but it's definitely uneven. I like this place, it's clean and they cut hair at a reasonable price. The extra services are pricy and they don't have products for clients who have natural hair that's greying. I wanted to freshen my grey when getting a new style, but they don't have anything. Back in the day you could cellophane your hair or use the purple shampoo and conditioner.
