I went to this place soley based on the reviews and I believe the reviews let me down. I went in, wasn't greeted, and was just told to sign in and to take a seat. The wait was short, but the experience wasn't the best. I told her that I wanted a small trim and to add front bangs like the photo I showed her before she cut it. She said okay, and then started cutting away. The end result looked nothing like the bangs of the girls! And when she decided to cut my hair, she was having a full conversation with the girl and the hairdresser next to me, rather than trying to talk to me. She also cut it rather quickly and when I left it was uneven. Not a fun time there, and u probably won't go back. read more

I had such a great experience here. Aprille was my hair stylist today and she is amazing. I have very long hair and I came in for a short A-lone cut that came out even better than I thought. She suggested some layers for volume and textured it that the end as well. I also have bangs that I wanted cut to wear both sides and they came out perfect. She was so thorough with her cut and was making sure she did exactly what I wanted. The atmosphere was upbeat but calm and charming. They were playing awesome music from amazon prime which was a great change from the radio. I really enjoyed the conversation and demeanor Aprille displayed; very professional. The salon is very team oriented and I love that her and her colleagues supported each-other with a helping hand and advice. Love the stamp card idea and I will definitely be back for a trim up or deep conditioning especially because prices are so reasonable. read more

Not quite sure you can call yourself a salon if you aren't full service. My daughter and I had our hair cut exactly 1 week apart without each other's knowledge. She went here first and walked in. Started out great with washing her hair. Then came the cut. Then next ...she was sent out with wet hair and told to go home style her hair and come back if she didn't like it. A week later I walk in without an appointment and ask to have my haircut. Starts out great by washing my hair, cutting then telling me to go home and style my hair and come back if I didn't like it. What "salon" doesn't show you how to style the hair they just cut? There were no customers waiting. If I get home and don't like your work I won't be coming back to you. My daughter just keeps saying"what do we expect from $15.00". I expect to pay $45 and have someone who washes and cuts my hair to dry & style my hair! read more

I've been coming here since the Clovis location opened and have never been disappointed. Prior to coming here, I was a wondering nomad in search of a new hair person. I had just moved to the Clovis East High School area and was looking for a place close by to replace my barber and luckily found this place. Great cuts, great service, and great prices for fancy shmancy salon (or barer) quality! I usually get my hair did by Fernanda or Sadie, but anyone of them does a great job. I've recommended my wife and friends here, and they've all been very satisfied with their hair cuts. Came in a couple of times and it's never been right. Today was the last straw for me. All I wanted was a 3 or 3 1/2 on the sides, trim off the top and trim the bangs that way I can curve it to the side. My calic is always sticking out and the side of my head is oddly cut...hard to explain. Extra star is for customer service. Ladies are super nice and always attentive when cutting. THIS IS A GREAT SALON.. I've been going to this salon since it opened (3 yrs) and have had nothing but excellent, friendly and knowlegable service.. I used to color my own hair and my stylist Jessica and her boss Fernanda helped me find the appropriate color for my hair and get it straightened out. Also, my hair is really curly with different types of curls in the many layers and they knew exactly how to cut it.. Unfortunately because I'm a redhead, I have to color my hair every 5 weeks or so.. I wouldn't considergoing anywhere else and the two things that I am very picky about are my hair and nails.. I will continue to go to this salon as long as I'm in this area.. read more

Love this place! It's hard finding a good walk place that knows how to cut men's and boys hair. It's also not everyday you can walk in and get a true salon experience! The ladies here are super awesome and the owner is super friendly! Me and my family travel from northwest fresno out to clovis it's about 15 min drive. It's well worth it. I have been going to shear magic for years. When I started planning my wedding I knew I wanted them to do my hair. I called and spoke to the owner and she set everything up! No hassle and effortless. She sent two of her most amazing stylists out to my venue at wolf lakes. Sadie and Tina did not just my hair, but 3 bridesmaids, my maid of honor, brides and grooms moms, and my aunt. They were so fun and wonderful. I of course was on edge it being my wedding and all and I had no worries as far as the stylists were concerned. Sadie stayed and made sure my head piece and veil were just right! The price was completely reasonable for all of us including two of my girls who each have enough hair for 3 people easily. I came in and the women all came together to work out a solution to my problem and they made it look so much better! I agree with Nancy. This is a horrible place for service, they do make you feel unwelcome. I went in a while ago (before I knew about yelp) and had a horrible experience. First of all I was frequenting this place because the stylist I liked was always there, and she did a great job. The last time there I walked in and my stylist was gone! So the owner, Fernanda, cut my hair. It was a razor cut, should have been shoulder length, but ended up cut to the bottom of my ears and with one side definitely longer than the other. Yes, she did hand me a mirror, but I was just anxious to leave with the way she was taking so long, and it's difficult to really notice a defective hair cut until you start to style it yourself. What I think happened to me was; Fernanda was so engrossed in her conversation with the other stylists that she wasn't paying attention and just kept cutting! When I complained about the horrible cut, the next day, she did offer to make it right, but there wasn't much hair left to fix and I would not let her touch me again. I asked for a refund and was given my money back eventually. Took about a week to get it. I have not been back since. Fernanda, Yelp is for owners to respond to Yelpers, not post five star reviews. I have gone to just about every salon and have paid all kinds of prices to get my hair done, Shear Magic is by far the best! I have thick curly hair that I like to wear straight. It's hard to find someone that knows how to work with it without taking hours & being overcharged. I have gotten my hair colored, cut, styled & chemically straightened for years from here. I usually go to Teresa at their Shaw location, but I have also gone to Tina on Shaw or Fernanda in Clovis. All three have been wonderful. Very down to earth salon. Always clean. My mom (who has hair like mine) goes there as well as some of the girls I work with. I have never stayed with one salon this long. They're awesome. read more

I had my hair orange for about a year every salon I went to just couldn't seem to fix the color... Every stylist I seen before this salon couldn't get the color I invisioned ... Then I came here and met Sadie ( I hope I spelled her name correctly) anyway she did an amazing job at correcting my color to the pretty light brown I've wanted for about a year... Overall I am very pleased with the service I received and would recommend anyone here... It took her about 3 hours to do my hair... Such a clean and friendly salon, I honestly I don't know how others could rate this anything but a 5 star salon, It's definitely a 5+! The staff is well trained and know what they are doing, they really take their time and actually care about your hair, not like many places in this area. And only $15 for good wash and cut... that's literally unheard of, like I couldn't believe how inexpensive it was for the quality and time put into my cut. Was able to get in on a Sunday for cut and color highlights. My stylist was super nice. She was very efficient and you could tell she really wanted to do a good job and that I liked my hair.
