I actually don't live near Grand Blanc, but ended up heading out to this dealer because of how I was treated at another Subaru dealer in the Metro Detroit area. I was in the market to buy a Subaru WRX or STi and this dealer had one that exactly fit my needs on hand. I made an appointment to go see the car, and upon arriving, the salesperson (Megan) was very friendly and offered to let me test drive the car on my own, even though I actually asked her to tag along since I didn't know the Grand Blanc area. I really appreciated this professionalism and kindness after what I'd seen at the other dealer! The test drive went smoothly and Megan was helpful in pointing out the key features of the car. After the test drive was over, we went back into the dealership to discuss numbers. The no-haggle setup of the dealership makes it very easy to figure out the finances as the only variables left are your financing terms and trade in value. They appraised my car fairly quickly and gave a trade in value (which was not too far from blue book), so I agreed to continue. Because it was toward the end of the day, we ended up having to put in my credit application and wait until the next day to hear what kind of rates I could get. The next day I got the information from Megan, and I was surprised by the sky high rates they offered. Not wanting to lose this car, I chose to find private financing, and got a great rate as expected. Here's where my only complaint with the dealer arose, after I called back to say I'd found better financing, only then did my salesperson say they'd try to get Subaru to match that rate. I was taken aback by the fact that that was an option that wasn't considered to get me to buy the car initially. Of course, I declined and moved ahead with the purchase. I wanted to make the process as painless as possible, so I asked to have the paperwork and car ready for me when I arrived. I looked on the website and saw that the dealer had put a decal of theirs on the car, and asked to have that removed by the time I got there, and they had no problem executing that, which I really appreciated! When I arrived at the dealer, I was in and out with keys in hand in under 20 minutes! BY FAR the fastest process I've ever gone through for trading in and buying a new car. Highly recommend Subaru of Grand Blanc, (talk to Megan) and if you don't like the financing they offer, see if they can do better or find another financier, the dealer is great otherwise!

This was higher than what i was initially quoted, but I was OK with paying more because I assumed the "factory-trained" Subaru techs would do quality work. My mistake... When I received the car back I noticed the outer CV axle boot was leaking because it was loose from one of the clamps not being tightened properly. I brought the car back in and they said they would tear the axle down again and replace the boots and the clamps for no charge. I was happy with this, however when I got the car back the second time I noticed that they did NOT use the original factory style permanent CV boot clamps, instead they used a generic HOSE CLAMP which is not the appropriate part. Hose clamps are not supposed to be used on a spinning axle, they will certainly come loose with vibration. I checked it again after 1 day of driving and it was already coming loose again. So their crappy "fix" did not work. People come to the dealer expected factory parts and solid work, not substituted parts and amateur quality service.

My husband and I traveled to Frankenmuth, MI for a couple of days heading home today. During a monsoonal downpour, our wipers quit working on I-75 South heading home. Luckily, we were very near an exit and were able to drive on the shoulder to a BP gas station which was just off the exit. Thanks to the clerk at BP who headed in the right direction. We had to have our Equinox towed to a nearby Chevy dealer who made the recall repair and we were able to return home safely. Bosak has just lost a long time Harbor Chevy customer! This is why I hate to fucking travel!

The response I received was disheartening; it felt dismissive when they suggested I would have to cover costs that should have been addressed by them so soon after my purchase. I expected at least a simple courtesy of checking my car and providing updates instead of making me chase after them for information. After speaking with four different people and experiencing confusion over who was responsible for costs, the used car department finally offered to split the cost of a diagnostic. They promised to pick up my car the following Monday, but nearly a week has passed without any follow-up or scheduling communication. The lack of respect and communication throughout this process has been incredibly frustrating. One service representative, Todd, was particularly dismissive, treating my concerns as if I were overreacting and implying that I was simply making up issues. This is not how a new customer should be treated. Having only purchased my vehicle three weeks ago and already facing such a distressing service experience--despite having bought an extended warranty--I feel abandoned. The fact that I can't get a simple diagnostic covered after spending tens of thousands of dollars is truly unacceptable. Now, I am forced to spend $200 to have it serviced elsewhere. Never got the car title and needed a copy of it, when we went in there to get it he started arguing with us saying if we weren't happy with the car to bring it back. Payments are current and we aren't going to just give the car back. My recommendation is if you buy a car here, when you take it for a test drive, just drive it to Tuffy and have them look it over before you purchase it.

I was quoted approximately $103 for the part plus four hours of labor. Trusting their expertise, I authorized the repair. Afterward, I became curious about the labor time because four hours seemed unusually high for this type of repair. I did some research and found that the part is located on the top front of the engine and is readily accessible. Based on what I found, replacing it appears to be a relatively straightforward job that many mechanically inclined people could complete in well under an hour. When I picked up my vehicle, I respectfully raised my concerns with the service manager. He listened, acknowledged my concern, and said he would look into the labor charge and get back to me. Unfortunately, I never received a follow-up. I then contacted Chevrolet Customer Care, who opened a case and attempted to contact the dealership on my behalf. According to Customer Care, they also never received a response from Applegate Chevrolet. My biggest disappointment isn't just the labor charge itself--it's the complete lack of follow-up and communication after I raised what I believe was a reasonable concern. If there was a legitimate reason for charging four hours of labor, I would have appreciated a clear explanation. Instead, my concerns were simply ignored. Based on this experience, I can't recommend Applegate Chevrolet's service department. Customers deserve transparent pricing, honest communication, and the courtesy of a response when they have questions about their bill.

Brought my…read more2023 Blazer in for a routine tire rotation and multi-point inspection -- the vehicle was called ready in just 18 minutes, and immediately after leaving, it shook violently. It turned out the front passenger lug nuts had not been properly torqued, which is a serious safety failure that could have caused a serious accident. On a follow-up visit, a head gasket oil leak was identified -- something that should have been caught during the original "multi-point inspection" if it had actually been done thoroughly. When I asked whether the vehicle was safe for an upcoming out-of-state trip, I was essentially told it was fine to travel, with no real urgency communicated, despite this being a leak that in my opinion warranted more than a quick visual and dye check. At no point did this service department proactively flag any of these issues to me -- I had to push for answers every step of the way. Compare that to another local dealership I contacted, which offered a loaner vehicle and said they'd work through the weekend if needed to get me back on the road safely. Applegate offered none of that same consideration or urgency. Between the safety incident, the missed diagnosis, and the lack of accommodation, I no longer have any confidence in this service department. I would think twice before bringing a vehicle here.
