    Chicken Shawarma

We've been in this area so many times but never tried this place - a big mistake! It's mostly a grab-and-go spot, but they have a few tables if you're starving (which we were!). We ordered the Hummus Bilahma, chicken shawarma, and a piece of baklava. The dishes looked great, served on a cool wooden board. We really enjoyed everything and are already planning our next visit to try more!

Came here for dinner tonight for the first time. The gentleman who greeted me was very kind and welcoming. I ordered the chicken shawarma with extra chicken and a small Greek fries. The shawarma was good, however, I was confused that the extra chicken I paid for wasn't inside of the shawarma. It came in a separate container on the side. I ended up just throwing it on top of the fries, which actually was probably better than having it inside the wrap. The Greek fries were AMAZING! Best thing I've ever eaten! I love the garlic sauce so much! It was weird though, the 2 sides of garlic sauce they gave me tasted nothing like the sauce on the fries. The sides of sauce tasted more like sour cream. Either way, I was very satisfied with my meal and will definitely be back!

Shawarma Time has become a lunch favorite for many of my customers within the area. I greatly appreciate ease of ordering and arranging delivery. The menu is offers great variety, and portion options which works perfectly for office personnel as their allotted break times vary. Customer service and the quality of order is always great. The Greek fries are never soggy, and the seasoning on the Greek salad is fantastic! I will definitely order again, and highly recommend!

The food here is absolutely delicious! We stopped by in Bothell, and I suddenly got hungry, so I convinced my husband to eat here. We ordered the beef and lamb shawarma and kebab with fries--both packed with flavor and served in huge portions. I couldn't even finish mine and had to take it to go (classic case of "my eyes were bigger than my stomach" ). To make the experience even better, they surprised us with a free dessert--and wow, it was amazing! Great food, generous portions, and wonderful hospitality. Definitely worth coming back for!

First time stopping in for a shawarma plate to go. Went with the chicken plate. The chicken was very flavorful and tasty. I had higher hopes for the hummus though, was a bit underwhelming. The pita could have been better too. My bar is pretty high with shawarma, Mr Gyros is my baseline to compare to. I'd go with a 3.5 star if I could. I'll be back but probably just for a side of the chicken.

    Nice, clean, bright, welcoming design.

I tried this place because someone said it's good. I love gyros. I went to many gyros/shawarma places. So I gave a try. I odered lamb & beef Shawarma plate. This place cuts the meat in tiny tiny pieces, not slices, about 1 x .5 cm. He put it on top of the grill again. It made the meat dry, not juicy. The seasoning wasn't to my liking. The rice was dry too. I tried to reason why people like it. It's probably just me? The restaurant itself is nice. I just wish the employee that helped me can be friendly and put more smile & energy to welcome customers. I think I like its competitor in Bothell area as well better ~ food wise & service with excitement.

    Crispy Fries

Tried this place for the first time. The beef and lamb wrap was good. A little greasier than I expected, but tasted good. My friend got the chicken plate and that was really great. Pita was thick and fluffy. Basmati rice was good. The fries are pretty good. I liked how crispy they were, but not "too" crispy. Baklava was great, crispy flakey and the right amount of moist. Next time (and I definitely plan to go back) I plan to get the Beef and Lamb Shawarma Plate as I think I would prefer the pita. UPDATE: I went back and got the Beef and Shawarma Plate. I liked it even more than the wrap. I'll definitely eat here again!

Honestly, I went in expecting better than it really was. Service was ok. Didn't have many people working. I noticed a few guys come in a few minutes after our friend group entered. They were on a smoke break but one of them came in, didn't wash their hands and put gloves on. Wasn't super sanitary in my opinion. The place itself is a decent size. Not space for more than 15 people probably. Now to the food. Food was pretty good, just not great or amazing. Portion sizes were generous and overall food was tasty. The fries were the best part. They made them crispy and they tasted really good!

We went to Shawarma time around 9pm on a Friday. We were excited because we thought we finally found a shawarma place on the east side that's open later than 7pm. We got a gyro plate and overall it wasn't bad, it just also wasn't great. The salad was small but not bad overall and the hummus was not good. We really loved their fries. We got the crispy fries and really enjoyed them. If we go back it will definitely be to try the gyro fries. Service/ambiance is what you would expect for a fast food type establishment, there was nothing that stood out good or bad from this perspective. However, one surprise is that they wanted to charge us for water - they wouldn't give us tap water. So if you get thirsty, but don't want a soda or want to buy water, bring a water bottle. The location is good. It's in the Thrashers corner complex so there's plenty of parking. There just isn't a ton of seating so if you have a big group plan ahead. They allowed us to move around tables to sit together which was nice. Overall, the reason I'm giving this 4 stars is because I think the food is good, not great, and when you factor in the price, I just think the value isn't there. I'm also still a little annoyed they tried to charge us for water.

I had lunch there today during their Grand Opening for this location. I must say that this is absolutely the best beef shawarma meat I have ever had and I am a big fan of meat shawarma. This was the Real Shawarma that was prepared and cooked the authentic way as if I was in the Middle East. My sandwich was amazing. Also both of the Humus and Falafel were delicious and very authentic. They served free fresh made desserts today that were truly out of this world. I am so glad ti have a real Shawarma place close to me. The owners and staff were also very friendly and extremely nice.

Delicious! My father was craving Turkish food and we found this place with great ratings in Yelp! We tried this place for the first time. My father thinks it tastes authentic and he was just at Turkey! We loved the garlic sauce on the fries. The portion of meat was good. I ordered the chicken platter and some parts were dry but others were tender. I really liked the sauce on it and the side of fresh hummus. The place was clean and the service was great! They even gave us a free baklava to try. We'll be back!

Looooved everything! We got the delicious chicken shawarma platter, with garlic mayo on the chicken, spicy peppers on the hummus and a perfectly dressed salad. My kids ate it all! My husband got the wrap, which he thought was pretty outstanding, as well. The fries were awesome, super crispy. The mango lassi was also delicious. They have a pretty good variety of bottled Turkish drinks, but we didn't try them this time. The cooks and owner were all super duper nice and greeted us with big smiles. The place is small, but clean. No changing table in the restroom, but I used the cabinet that was there :p. Definitely coming back!

The best shawarma I've ever had. Everything about it was delicious. The meat, the sauces, the wrap, the pickled onions and pickles. We were shocked how good it was and am excited that this place is in Bothell!

We opted for the small mix combo which had the prime ribeye, beef brisket, king prime short ribs, la seasoned ribs, beef tail flap, pork belly, pork jowl, pork shoulder, and seasoned boneless short ribs. We also ordered a bottle of soju to share. The meats were beautifully presented. They also served an array of banchans including onion salad and lettuce. Service was amazing. For whatever reason, I was craving Mediterranean food, and when I was searching for Mediterranean food in the Bothell area, where I was going to be spending the next couple of days afterwards, this restaurant showed up third on the list! As I was looking through the menu, I noticed their main cuisine is Indian cuisine, yet they also served Mediterranean food, which I thought was intriguing, yet a little dubious as I believe that a restaurant serving a multitude of cuisines could subject themselves to being spread too thin in their kitchen. I had looked at their menu beforehand and had decided to get the Gyro Platter, Butter Masala with Chicken, and the Goat Biryani, hoping the Goat would also mean "Greatest of All Time." I also got some butter and garlic naan to go with the meal. When I came in, Azmat was there to serve me. He had such a pleasant and calming demeanor that I wish the quality of the food would have matched that of his level of service. After reciting my order to him, he mentioned it would take 15 to 20 minutes for my order to be ready. I was sitting in a seat by the front door while several other customers came in to pick up their online orders. I thought about ordering online, but realized it would have cost a few dollars extra to do so, hence why I decided to go there in person to order. After 10 minutes, a server noticed me sitting there and offered to assist. I knew it was early, so there wasn't much she could do at this point. 15 minutes later, an employee came from the back to hand me my takeout order while apologizing for the long wait. Well, not too bad of an extended wait though. But what was too bad was the two Indian dishes that I ordered. Neither the Goat Biryani nor the Butter Masala really left any impression whatsoever. They definitely didn't taste bad, but I felt the flavors in both were quite muted. I did like the Gyro Platter better, though, but I wouldn't say it was as good as other Mediterranean spots I've been to in SoCal. The Naan breads didn't leave any impression either; I would have guessed it was just plain Naan bread. For a fraction of the cost, I'm sure you could go to one of Safeway, Fred Meyer, or even QFC for a pack of plain Naan bread that would taste almost as good. Bay Leaf Bar & Grill is located at the base of the Junction Apartments next to McMenamins Anderson School. There's plenty of parking closer to the school, but parking adjacent to Bay Leaf is quite scarce. There's a wide bike path that almost looks like a sidewalk, but is wide enough for cars to drive through. There are a few on-street parking spots directly in front, but right before these spots, there's an alleyway that has a few parking spots albeit 15 minutes only. Some of the spots are reserved for McMenamins, but I do remember the first one not having any mention of McMenamins. I wouldn't mind coming back if I wanted a taste of both Mediterranean and Indian in the same meal, especially since the interior looked so fancy and well-maintained! However, if I wanted just one or the other, I'd look elsewhere next time I'm visiting the area. Overall, 7 stars out of 10, but rounded down. * My visit was back in November of 2025; I had gone on a hiatus from posting reviews, hence the rather last post.

As other reviews state, this is kind of a strange restaurant that seems more like it's for regulars rather than new customers. There's no actual printed menu other than hints of a menu on the signboard above the register (and we confirmed this with the cashier). I guess this is to save on cost, which coincidentally also allows them to adjust pricing on the fly? There are photos posted of the menu from 2024, but my guess is those are of an old pre-COVID menu, given that the prices increased over 50% at this point. Per other reviews, dine-in orders are also packaged in takeout boxes and can take a variable amount of time to cook. We don't usually get takeout much, but decided to call in an order for this visit. This was at around 5PM on Saturday and we were promised a 30 minute wait. We arrived 30 minutes later, paid for the order, and it ended up taking about another 10 minutes. Not too bad. Benechin Beef ($18.99) - As I learned, benechin is essentially a different term for the more commonly known (at least in the US) jollof rice. In this case, the rice has a deep tomato and spiced umami that combines a pleasant saltiness with a heat level that builds and builds. It's topped with a small side of cabbage that seems to be stewed in the same spices as the rice. There's then a piece of yucca root, stewed but still rather toothsome with fiber strands all in one direction like muscle grains. For the beef, they include four pieces of thinly sliced barbecued meat. The meat is extremely flavorful with what seems to be a black pepper and allium based spice mixture. In terms of texture, it's quite tough and chewy, almost to the level of beef jerky. (4/5) Afra Lamb ($20.99) - This dish comes with a choice of rice or salad, not both as the older menu states. We went with the rice which comes in a smaller container and is a long grain rice cooked until perfectly fluffy. It's cooked with salt, which is something that I'm not used to. The larger container includes a mound of bone-in lamb meat doused in a savory and tangy mustard based sauce. The meat is a very interesting mixture of off-cuts, a combination of cross-cut ribs, shanks, lamb chops, and some random other cuts. The lamb is mostly bone in and there are tons of small bone shards all over the meat, making it a bit of a pain to eat. The meat isn't very gamey and all and is much more tender as compared to the beef jerky in the benechin. On top of the lamb, they include mustard infused softened onions and whole quick-charred onion rings, resulting in a still crunchy texture. They include some powdered dried chilis is a small pile hidden under the onions. Be careful - it's starts out smoky like paprika to start and the heat only starts to build after a couple of seconds. (4/5) Bantaba is a great place to try some new food. While it's not the most beginner friendly restaurant, it offers some flavors and dishes that are hard to find around Seattle. We were hard pressed to find burgers in Greenwood. This place definitely fit the bill. The service…read morewas very friendly and helpful. The ambiance clean but somewhat underwhelming. The burgers, oh the burgers!!! Huge, 1/3 lb of halal (best quality) beef, selection of cheese. My grandson had a double patty cheeseburger (not on the menu - too much food) which allowed us to focus on the taste of the beef. My wife had the Santa Fe burger which was 3 inches tall with guacamole, tomatoes, chunky salsa, lettuce and other stuff. I had the spicy garden burger. It had lettuce, tomatoes, grilled onions and some very good house sauce. Highly recommend!

This is a no frills better for take out than dine in kind of place. Rather expensive for what it is and even if priced appropriately, I'd still give it 3 stars for food quality. We ordered the fried seafood combo and the double burger. Beef patties were extremely thick although good flavor. The thickness and texture kind of killed it. While eating the fish, shrimp and chips, I couldn't help but wonder if they got it frozen from Costco business center so there's that. Overall, not sure if we would be back although nothing was terrible. There's just better option for us to spend our money and calories.

I stopped in Jasmine Kitchen fresh off an airplane and WOW. First it was around 3pm, which is dead time for most restaurants. The two men could not have been nicer and my food was fresh and amazing in a clean and cool environment. Even the bathrooms were clean and nice (which is a huge element to the overall experience). Service was great too, even with two men. I order a kofta kebab plate which came with saffron rice and great pita and a small salad and a garlic sauce that would be amazing on a leather boot. I also had the walnut baklava which was about the best I've ever had. The flavors were all spot on - juicy and tender and wonderful - every bite of the whole meal. In fact I was tempted to get the whole thing again. But decided to wait until the VERY next time I'm in town.

The service was super quick and the flavor and quality of ingredients are excellent. The price is reasonable at $16.99 and the portion is generous. They ask if you want to dine in or take out but they are both served in a to-go container with the only difference being you either get a bag or a tray. :) One improvement suggestion would be to provide sriracha hot sauce as many other similar businesses do. Overall I recommend this place for an affordable, delicious, quick meal with no frills.
