This is our 2nd time here. Last time must have been more than 5 years ago. We loved it then. I'm happy to report, that the food remains to be good. It feels like a lot of creativity, skill is used to cook these dishes. We had Pad See Ew, my favorite Thai dish ever. It's also how I measure how good a Thai restaurant is. If they make a good Pad See Ew, then it's a good restaurant. The Duck Curry was special, as well. We also had Pork Belly with Mixed Vegetables. It was good. Calamari was crunchy. I never thought I would rave about rice. But here, we were introduced to Berry Rice, a reddish brown rice that tasted like mountain rice. So good. The restaurant has a simple, but classy Asian decor. It's brightly lit, since there are glass windows all around. Loved the private banquettes. But in any establishment, apart from great food, great service is what it makes it stand out. And Kin Dee has 2 special servers that deliver great service. Adam was efficient, professional and friendly. Ploy is definitely an asset to this restaurant. She's proficient, knowledgeable, but above all, friendly, funny and witty. She's a joy. She convinced us to try the street food version of Kin Dee in Bellevue. An amazing Thai place in Bothell! I would say Thai food is one of my favorite cuisines and I am always satisfied here! The restaurant itself is pretty small so it fills up quickly, I would recommend going on the earlier side for dinner. My family and I were able to share a number of dishes including kao soi, crying tiger, creamy tom yum soup, and chicken wings. Because it was just the three of us, we ended up with a number of leftovers. Everyone really enjoyed the kao soi which was rich but also cut well with the mustard greens. The chicken wings were super flavorful and served as a good side. The service was really nice and we got everything that we asked for. The prices are also quite standard so I wouldn't say it is more expensive than other Thai places around. It is also decorated well and I can see this as a great spot for many occasions! read more

Nestled away in this shopping center that I always drive on, but have never driven through. I'm so glad I was brought here by my friends after work. It's very cute and pretty inside. Very modern looking. Service was quick and they took care of us quickly. Their menu was pretty extensive and had lots of options, including drinks and desserts. Food: everything we had here was really yummy. I definitely recommend that crispy garlic wings - they were huge and succulent and juicy. The spring rolls that were fried was also really good. I had the pork rice bowl, which is called the Kai Ka Moo and I Was so impressed with it! I saw a picture of it and I knew I needed to have it. Don't know why I didn't find this restaurant sooner, but their street food menu is great. The highlight is the Kao Moo Grob (crispy pork), which is very crispy and light. We also tried Kao Ka Moo, so juicy and tender. Their Hoi Jor is also very crispy and flavorful. Very good service and attentive. There is a bar and big TVs which gives it a sports bar feel. But also some elegant decor and lighting giving it a nice ambiance. Depends where you are seated. There are more and more options for Thai food in Bothell, and Kin Dee is close by the office so I have had a chance to try it a few times. Portions are generous and I usually have leftovers. Tried both the Pad Thai and Pad Kee Mao and while both were decent, they were a bit bland at 2 stars. The chicken rice was good but not spectacular. The panang curry was a bit more flavorful though, and I would order it again. The space is clean and modern, and service is good. Been on my list for a while and finally visited. Should have done that much earlier! Conveniently located and sharing the Thrasher's Corner parking lot, it was not crowded on a Monday evening. Immediately noticed some of the diners were Thai. Good sign! A wonderful variety in the menu and it was hard to make a choice. Finally decided on Guay Tiew Tom Yum, Chicken Pad Thai, Kao Mun Kai. Food presentation was very good and volume was impressive for what seemed to be comparatively reasonable prices. The tom yum noodle soup had a lot of minced pork and the soup was tasty. 2 stars was just nice without being too spicy. The chicken rice was tasty and made a nice combo meal, something close to the Hainanese chicken rice we were familiar with. The pad thai was the average dish we thought but we have had a lot of pad thais in many places. It looked special upon arrival and worthwhile trying for sure. This was my second time at Kin Dee, and this time I tried the Pad Kee Mao (my favorite Thai dish) with three stars for spice. My friend and I ordered the same dish, and we both loved it. The spice level was perfect for us because it enhanced the flavors of the dish but wasn't overly spicy to the point of making the food painful to eat. Normally I'm not a huge fan of cherry tomatoes but for some reason, I really liked them in the dish with the warm burst of flavor. My friend pointed out how cute the interior of the restaurant was, and I definitely agree. There's nice lighting so it can be an intimate but cute spot without the pressure of dressing to impress. The service is also great and fast, and we both got our waters refilled. Restaurant decor was very aesthetically pleasing and modern had a high-end feel. I love how they have street food dishes and stuff you don't find normally at other Thai restaurants like Thai pink milk (a well known drink in Thailand). Kin Dee Bothell is the second Kin Dee location, with the first in the Seattle/Madison Valley neighborhood. It's my first-time dining at Kin Dee, and I am always eager to try any countries' street food. The street food portion of their menu is smaller than I expected with seven items, and two more on separate papers. I also didn't expect a dish like Duck Noodle Soup to be considered a street food. Overall, the menu is closer to a regular menu than their tagline indicating "Thai Street Foods". Subtract 0.25 Stars Their service was swift and friendly. The restaurant is newly remodeled and looks clean and fresh. The building itself is older. On a hotter day (84F outside), their central AC couldn't keep up, and the restaurant felt stuffy. They have a portable AC by the bar, and a fan on the floor. Unfortunately, I chose this restaurant knowing they are newer hoping to cool off after a hot trail walk. Fail. Subtract 0.25 Stars. The Food: Kao Ka Moo, $18.95 - 4 Stars Menu: 8-10 hours slow cook five spice pork leg shank. Served with jasmine rice, hard-boiled egg, pickle mustard, Kanah and spicy & sour sauce. This leg shank is off-bone, with fatty skin attached. The meat is very tender and flavorful. The sauce is plentiful to flavor the rice. For the cost, this rice plate is reasonably priced and is a good one-plate meal. Kao Soi Gai, $17.95 - 3.5 Stars Menu: Simmered chicken thigh in a creamy, spicy-sweet coconut milk-based stew. Served over boiled egg noodles and garnished with crunchy fried egg noodles, red onions, and pickled mustard greens. Three good size pieces of chicken thigh with skin are enveloped in a curry broth. The broth is a bit runny, so it doesn't stick to the chicken as much after I removed the skin. I have seen this dish called Chiang Mai Noodles (also called kao soi) at other Thai restaurants. Both chicken and noodle quantities are plentiful, though I would have appreciated more veggies. I ended up dipping the chicken in the hot sauce that came with the Kao Ka Moo for a spicy kick. That was a great improvement to the dish, which was much more sweet than spicy. Side note: Their online menu, with photos, is incomplete. read more

We ordered 5 things. The three in my photo below (the kapow kao kruk, pad kee mao, garlic chicken), the panang curry, and the rockfish fillet w hot basil sauce. We enjoyed every item that we ordered. Every single bite was full of flavor and came with generous portions. But our favorite was the fish. The fish is nicely seasoned and lightly battered. The batter is crispy and the hot basil gravy doesn't make the fish soggy. The hot basil sauce coats the fish. You get a mouthful of flavor, then you get the nice crispy texture, and then it finishes off with a seasoned piece of fillet that melts in your mouth. It convinced me to order more fish at Thai restaurants. I'll definitely be ordering this again. The place is bright and well decorated. It's not loud but has a nice buzz of people chatting.
