Kin Dee Bothell is the second Kin Dee location, with the first in the Seattle/Madison Valley neighborhood. It's my first-time dining at Kin Dee, and I am always eager to try any countries' street food. The street food portion of their menu is smaller than I expected with seven items, and two more on separate papers. I also didn't expect a dish like Duck Noodle Soup to be considered a street food. Overall, the menu is closer to a regular menu than their tagline indicating "Thai Street Foods". Subtract 0.25 Stars Their service was swift and friendly. The restaurant is newly remodeled and looks clean and fresh. The building itself is older. On a hotter day (84F outside), their central AC couldn't keep up, and the restaurant felt stuffy. They have a portable AC by the bar, and a fan on the floor. Unfortunately, I chose this restaurant knowing they are newer hoping to cool off after a hot trail walk. Fail. Subtract 0.25 Stars. The Food: Kao Ka Moo, $18.95 - 4 Stars Menu: 8-10 hours slow cook five spice pork leg shank. Served with jasmine rice, hard-boiled egg, pickle mustard, Kanah and spicy & sour sauce. This leg shank is off-bone, with fatty skin attached. The meat is very tender and flavorful. The sauce is plentiful to flavor the rice. For the cost, this rice plate is reasonably priced and is a good one-plate meal. Kao Soi Gai, $17.95 - 3.5 Stars Menu: Simmered chicken thigh in a creamy, spicy-sweet coconut milk-based stew. Served over boiled egg noodles and garnished with crunchy fried egg noodles, red onions, and pickled mustard greens. Three good size pieces of chicken thigh with skin are enveloped in a curry broth. The broth is a bit runny, so it doesn't stick to the chicken as much after I removed the skin. I have seen this dish called Chiang Mai Noodles (also called kao soi) at other Thai restaurants. Both chicken and noodle quantities are plentiful, though I would have appreciated more veggies. I ended up dipping the chicken in the hot sauce that came with the Kao Ka Moo for a spicy kick. We ordered 5 things. The three in my photo below (the kapow kao kruk, pad kee mao, garlic chicken), the panang curry, and the rockfish fillet w hot basil sauce. We enjoyed every item that we ordered. Every single bite was full of flavor and came with generous portions. But our favorite was the fish. The fish is nicely seasoned and lightly battered. The batter is crispy and the hot basil gravy doesn't make the fish soggy. The hot basil sauce coats the fish. You get a mouthful of flavor, then you get the nice crispy texture, and then it finishes off with a seasoned piece of fillet that melts in your mouth. It convinced me to order more fish at Thai restaurants. I'll definitely be ordering this again. The place is bright and well decorated. It's not loud but has a nice buzz of people chatting. You will find most of the staples that is offered at any other Thai restaurant like pad thai, pad see ew, pad kee mao etc. However, they have a couple of unique things that I don't see at other restaurants, such as the Sala drinks and pandan custard. It would be nice to see more entrees that aren't often found in other Thai restaurants though. I personally came here because I was craving the Som Tum Buu Pla Ra, and it was sold out at my usual spot. I like that when I order 5 stars for spice, they don't hold back. The restaurant is not big, but the environment looks nice. Waiter was nice and polite. He refilled our water before we asked and he offered us paper bag when we were packing food home. Food is beautifully presented with great taste! I particularly like the duck soup and my husband loves the chicken rice. Pad Thai was a bit wet than I expected but still tastes good. I do not know what has changed but 6/8 dishes tasted extremely bad, noodles, rice were lumped and poor, curries were very oily with limited to no vegetables. Kin Dee Bothell has some of the best Thai food around town! Their food's presentation, taste, and serving portions are amazing! The Pad Thai and Garlic Chicken are two of my favorite dishes from here. When it comes to dessert the Mango Sticky Rice is divine. Also, their chicken satay is delicious! I'm not a huge Panang Curry fan, but I really enjoy theirs. All in all the restaurant is cozy and warm. The staff is very attentive and kind. The food is delicious! The customer service is very attentive and friendly and the food came out pretty fast. Pad kee mao: flavor was ok but it was just pretty dry... definitely needs more sauce. Tom yum noodle soup: probably one of the best things on the menu. I'm not the biggest fan of Tom yum but without a doubt, I will always order this dish when I'm here. I ordered it 5/5 spice and it's the perfect combo of spice with hot and sour. I don't like normal Tom yum because it's usually too sour but idk maybe the noodles balance that part out and just tastes amazing because it's a little bit thicker than normal Tom yum I would say. Kao Mun gai: was pretty disappointed in it... I was expecting it to taste similar to Hainese chicken but the chicken was not tender. However I will say the ginger garlic rice that is served on the side is really good. A little bit more on the gingery side. The sauces it came with were ok.. one tasted like tamarind/ginseng sauce which was not good and the other tasted like a miso sauce that was not super sweet but I would definitely choose this sauce over the other one. This is our go to Thai place in Bothell. The first time we visited was in the restaurant - service was good. The dining area is comfortable. The spice of the 2 and 3 were 1-2 levels spicier than most places. Beware! The night chef's spice is a point above the day shift. We've gotten takeout a number of times since, and it's always less spicy for lunch. The pad see ew with pork is our favorite item. I prefer my egg with wok char in my pad Thai, so I'm not a fan of it here. My partner really likes the fried tofu texture; it's good but the flavor is a bit bland. The sauce is the star with that dish. Green beans are good. I liked the curry and made it into multiple meals by making more rice. We'll keep coming back. read more

I quite literally have never had something from Kin Dee that was not a 10/10, heck 11/10. My go to is the pad see ew with fried tofu but the pad thai is amazing too. The black cod dumplings are to die for. We just tried the green beans today and they are better than Din Thai Fung. You seriously cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. Visited this restaurant on memorial day with my family. The first waiter was setting up a table when another waiter enquired if we were dining in. He told us that there was a wait time of 20 minutes despite multiple tables being empty. When we told him that we would wait, he looked at us as though he was disgusted by the thought of serving us. we came here right after skydiving in snohomish and the flavors were super refreshing :) i got the guay tiew tom yum and it was perfection! i was a bit sick when i had this so i wasn't able to up the spice level more but the original level still had a bit of a kick to it and it was the perfect balance of spice to tanginess to savory to sweet. the only thing i would change is i usually like my tom yum more coconut-y and this was more of a watery citrusy tom yum. the portions are incredible for what you pay for too !! read more

3rd time lucky. I've tried to start a review here the first two times, and failed each time. Kin Dee is now my favorite Thai restaurant just as we get into 2022. Famous Thai hospitality by all the sweet and friendly servers, and a genuine taste of Bangkok (which I visit often). One of my all-time favorite dishes is Thai duck noodles. There's something about the spicy, umami sweet soup that I would make a journey to get. Prior to discovering the Duck Noodles at Kin Dee, my fix in the US would be the Rodded Cafe in LA. I was brought there by a friend from Bangkok, and he swears that it is better than most of the places in Bangkok (it IS). I think, now I have a new world's best Thai Duck Noodles at Kin Dee.... and service here is far, far better than the place we frequent in Bangkok and the quality and quantity of meat is also much better. We got a whole duck leg, plus 4 thick slices of breast in each bowl. On this visit, the server also came by and asked if we wanted dessert.... they had a special for the day - bo loy! Who could resist that hot, sticky coconutty syrup with soft, melt in your mouth sago balls. Down the hatch!! During previous visits, I've had their woon sen phad thai, tom yum goong, yellow curry which have been uniformly excellent. Great flavor profile with dimensions to the taste, as all good Thai food should be. The spices are well balanced, without any one spice leaping out on your tongue and clobbering you in the head like in some places. Overall, a definite 5-stars. It was our first time here tonight ordering takeout. Interestingly, their internet was out when we got there and we had to scramble for cash. They couldn't get credit cards to work. The Panang curry was a bit too sweet for us. The Beef pad see ewe was delicious. They gave a good helping of marinated beef with the noodles.
