It's pricey, but it's a change up from burgers and chicken strips, so it's what it is. ;) The service is fine, it's a booth so you're grabbing the goods and fighting for a seat somewhere in the Avengers area. The ambiance is the Avengers area, you feel like a hero while eating shawarma. Your kids will love it. :P

    New York's tastiest
    Katie R.

The Shawarma Palace is a food cart located in Avengers Campus near the ride Webslingers. I ordered New York's Tastiest. I had high hopes for this but it just was not good at all. Two of my friends and I ordered this, we all threw it away after a couple bites. The chicken had a mushy consistency and the flavor/spices had a sour bitter taste to it. The coconut yogurt-tahini sauce was lumpy and kind of gritty, and the flavor was off. Save your monies and just stick to your local Mediterranean place for shawarma, because this was not it!

Impossible Victory Falafel let's goooooo! Great little walk up and order food cart. The lines can get long depending on the time of day. What I love about this food cart, is that it is open early!!! It opens at 8am so you can grab something for breakfast if you want! It bugs me that there's food spots in the park that are closed during the park hours. If the park is open, the food should be open, right? lol This is a great place to grab some Mediterranean food. I plan on coming back for the Impossible Breakfast Shawarma . Yum!!

    Impossible breakfast sha-warm-up

Had the Impossible Breakfast sha-warm-up. It is a warm pita filled with one plant based impossible breakfast sausage (cut in half), scrambled eggs, a few tater tots and a piece of vegan cheese. It also comes with a side of sriracha maple syrup for dipping. It was the perfect meal on the go for a fun day in the parks. I just wished the sriracha maple syrup had more spice or none at all because it wasn't really necessary. If you have a Magic Key, don't forget to use your discount!

*** Vegetarian Review *** Impossible shawarma with Just Egg. Comes with a Sriracha syrup. Perfect snack to share with your special someone before getting into all the main Disney meals. Great service. Vegan option. Located right in front of Tower of Terror (ahem .. Guardians of the Galaxy) They accept the pass holder discount.

The reviews are so low for this place and I don't think it deserves it. The chicken shawarma here (while definitely not authentic) is pretty dang good and the sauce that it comes with is also delish. At around $15, it's a reasonable price (considering you're in Disneyland) for what you get. I happen to believe that the shawarma here is much better than the much more talked-about ronto wrap at galaxy's edge.

Is these even a shawarma, because it's sure doesn't taste like one. So, looking and judging my friend's reaction as he bite into his "shawarma" told us all we needed to know. He said it was dry, the tortilla was also dry and cold, and he was wondering if this was real meat. Yup, waste of money. Also the Thor drink holder that looks like a hammer and has a hand for a grip is cool, but super overpriced and doesn't hold much soda. Just an FYI.

Impossible Breakfast Shawarma with Spiced Maple Syrup

A-okay! I had the Impossible Breakfast Sha-warm-up with a side of the Sriracha spiced Maple Syrup. I thought the wrap was just fine! It did the trick and tasted average. There was nothing special about it. I wish there was more flavor, although surprisingly, the impossible breakfast sausage carried a lot of flavor. But the sausage's flavor got lost with the bread, egg, and potatoes. Wish this had more seasoning and it would've been much better! Overall, I wouldn't actively go out of my way to have it again, but I wouldn't mind it either.

Things are going downhill with Shawarma Palace. First the Shawarma Palace Too cart was closed for months, eventually being replaced by some other cart-- making it even tougher to get a hold of the plant-based breakfast Shawarma. It was always a stressful moment rushing to see if they'd already sold out of our beloved breakfast item and since they don't offer a mobile app for Shawarma Palace you can't order in advance. I would say 50% of the time we went for breakfast they would already be sold out long before breakfast service ended. So imagine our surprise when a few months ago they suddenly dropped the plant-based breakfast option, replacing it was a new one featuring chicken eggs, cow cheese, and ham made from pigs. They had the nerve to tell us the old plant-based Shawarma wasn't popular. Oh really? Then why was it always selling out? And why bring chicken eggs to the menu at a time when chicken eggs are extremely hard to come by and extremely overpriced? It just doesn't make sense. At least they could offer their animal-based breakfast wrap AND the plant-based breakfast one so people had a choice! The plant-based breakfast option at PYM's Test Kitchen is seriously lacking, so if the Shawarma cart won't offer these delicious and popular plant based Shawarma, then couldn't they at least bring them to PYM's Test Kitchen ?!

Finally tried out the wraps in Avengers Campus. There are two small carts of this chain located inside Disney California Adventure Park both in this area. In the Avengers movie, the team goes out to feast on shawarma during the credits after the big Battle of New York. It's a fun scene where the heroes look much more relaxed. Breakfast wrap - eggs, plant based breakfast sausage, cheese and tots in a pita - Super disappointed after hearing all the great reviews. There was nothing special about this. The pita was soggy. People say this is the best wrap? :( Spiced Maple Syrup - shriracha syrup - it was good enough, but could have used more spice. They also have a chicken wrap and falafel wrap available. If your craving a wrap, definitely hit up the Ronto Wraps in Galaxy's Edge. All 3 are so much better with great flavors! Plus, it's made on site instead of pre-wrapped sitting in a warmer at the cart. Otherwise, there are so many better breakfast options. There is lots of seating in the Hyperion Theater area and usually not too busy there.

Chicken shawarma with coconut tahini sauce. So good!
    Amanda H.

To be completely honest, I'm generally not impressed with Disney food. (I know, I know.) But the chicken shawarma from Shawarma Palace is the most delicious thing I've ever purchased at any of the Disneylands, ever. Taste-wise, that is. It's relatively inexpensive, the chicken is super seasoned and not dry (like other reviews might have mentioned), and the coconut tahini sauce-- *chef's kiss*. Only complaint is that the naan bread breaks apart really easily. It's definitely not the most culturally accurate food, but California Adventure also offers pepperoni pizza EGGROLLS. So maybe cultural accuracy was never their thing, hahaha. I give it a 5/5 for pure taste and value.

Of all the things that intrigued me the most about Avengers Campus, it's that they actually turned the Avengers post-credit shawarma scene into an actual food option! I love me some shawarma, so obviously that was the first thing I had to handle on my initial visit to Avengers Campus. You have two options. The New York's Tastiest is a chicken shawarma wrap. The Impossible Victory Falafel is a falafel and cauliflower wrap. Both come with coconut yogurt-tahini sauce. As of this review, both are $12.99. I got the New York's Tastiest. The shawarma wrap itself is probably not going to look very photogenic because they're all premade and already wrapped up, waiting for someone to buy it. But as far as the food goes? I'm not kidding, this might be my favorite food option in the entire Disneyland Resort now. The marinade on the chicken is really really good. I'm not saying it's totally authentic, but damn it hit the spot for sure. Unfortunately the wrap does fall apart fairly easily because the steam from keeping it warm makes the wrap soggy. But I'll let it slide, because the chicken does taste amazing. Tzatziki sauce went really well with the chicken as well. If anything, I'm glad this joke scene turned into real food. Yes, I am coming back for many more shawarma wraps.

Food: 3.5/5 Service and Setting: 3/5 Value: 3/5 I feel like out of the other eateries in Disney, Shawarma Palace needs more recognition and a bigger and better spot. The cart itself is super charming and is a bolted-down version of a typical food stand. Service was very fast as the food is already prepared and under a heat lamp. The service was quick but I didn't get that sort of immersive vibe... maybe I'm looking for too much. New York's Tastiest: 3.5/5 As I have expressed in other reviews about Disney food... it is not the greatest but this is definitely better than the rest. BUT, to call this shawarma would be almost a lie. As soon as I ate this, the meat tasted like chicken tikka masala and the sauce was like Indian raita. They were not bad but it is unfair to call this shawarma. The chicken had a very watery flavor, as if the chicken absorbed all the condensation while tucked in the bread, and had strong Indian style seasonings (think garam masala). The sauce, though they say has cucumber, does not taste of it all (this is coming from a cucumber hater). It however does have a slight hint of "spoilage", like a sour note that just does not feel right, so keep that in mind if you have a weak stomach. Overall, it was solid and I would come again to feast like an Avenger.

The generous portions resulted in a second meal for me! On a Tuesday night, this place was quite packed with friends and families. It seems like wonderful place to host parties or business meetings. Someone nearby us had a birthday, and a group of staff came out with a dessert, blasting a traditional birthday song over the speakers and encouraged the whole restaurant to clap along! Despite the large gatherings, the restaurant is a no-reservation spot. They have a covered patio outside to seat an overflow of customers in case. Thankfully, my boyfriend and I were seated right away. They had a contactless menu, and we scanned a QR code to check our food options, but a server took our order and offered great recommendations once we waved him down. They do have plenty of seating, but during peak hours it definitely gets crowded and packed. A true sign of how loved this place is. The ambiance adds to the experience too. I especially love the Middle Eastern paintings on the walls. It gives the space a warm, cultural, and authentic feel. First off, the bread. All house made and incredibly fresh. You can taste the quality in every bite. From the dough to the toppings, everything feels intentional and authentic. The spinach pies... absolutely next level. Spinach packed generously and bursting with that bright, zesty lemon flavor, mixed with onions and olive oil. Perfectly balanced and so satisfying. Muhamara had a nice kick today.
